EDIT: Also I didn't realize the VF-31J is a LE kit. Are all the Delta releases LE? IIRC that wasn't the case for the VF-25, right?

VF-31J is a regular release, #29. Keith's Draken is also a regular release at #28. Everything else Delta is LE.

  2. That's not camo, that's the pre-shading. That style is pretty popular with Ma. K stuff. Max has done it previously with his Shizuoka Hobby Show valk build.

EDIT: Whoops, wasn't Shizuoka. It was Wonderfestival Winter

  3. He mentions at the start of the video that it's the D, he carved off the DYRL shoulders from Hikaru and in the latest tweet in the background you can see he gave Minmay the helmet already.

As for the VT-1, the cockpit isn't as long so it doesn't extend that far back but the panel detail on the body still changes. It also has a differently shaped canopy frame.

  4. I saw that VF-1D build and it bothers me slightly that he's making the same mistake that Arii did with their kit. They just added a two seat cockpit onto a regular VF-1A/J/S body when the double cockpit is supposed to extend backwards into the body and keeping overall length the same.

That Arii kit was my first attempt at any Macross kit, I though it would be a quick and easy straight build but once I noticed this I started modifying endlessly to the point where it's just sitting back in its box half done.....

Speaking of customizing.....has anyone added joints to the 1/20 Gerwalk to make it more pose-able?

It's really, really, REALLY tempting but I'm already half a year behind my finishing date with just a straight build.

It seems like it would be a really fun project to make it more mobile or even just go full Battroid conversion......maybe if i get another one.....

  6. It's probably safe to say that it'll be a minimum 4,000 yen judging by the Dougram kit pricing. So at least twice the price of Hasegawa. The "quality of life" improvements for the build will probably make it worth it for a lot of people.

Wave 1/100 kits, which are pretty much as friendly to build as a Gundam HG but need paint used to be 2,400 yen and A/J/S sold separately but Wave has recently reissued the with all 3 in one box for 3,600 yen. If those Wave kits were 1/72 for that price and quality it would have been wonderful.

Not 100% sure on this but it seems like it was Kawamori's idea?
