Nice finish.  What do you think of the kit?

I think its pretty good, not as hefty as a MG but I actually like that it doesn't have 100 pieces that make up a frame that I will never see. Saved up a lot of time painting because of that. My only complaints are that there are no closed fists hands and the material that makes the hoses is made up of this rubber band like material. Sucks to sand it and sucks to paint it. I didn't even bother with it aside from panel lining.

The kit turned out great! Love the heat hawk blade, looks excellent!

Thanks! Im glad they included two blade options.

Unfortunately, non-Ver. Ka regular released MGs usually just have dry transfers and/or stickers. Water slides are usually included on Ver Ka kits and PBandai released items.

Wow! That looks amazing! Makes me want to go and get an NT-1 now.

Did Al come with the kit or is that your own custom?

BTW it's been some years since I bought any MG kits, but do they still just come with a few dry transfers and a bunch of stickers? Because I always thought it bizarre that such high quality kits would just have stickers and no decals. Are gunpla builders allergic to water? :unknw:

Yes its criminal that Bandai charges 200, 300, even $400 like PG Phenex and they dont include waterslides. Worst of all they dont even make them anymore for their kits. For a regular Kit i usually have to buy third party decals from China like I did with the Alex. Like pafy6285 said, only Ver.ka and premium Bandai kits include decals.

Al comes with the kit. Its also comes with a Bernie and Christina in pilot suit. I just painted them :)

Do you sand all the entire surface of the model before you paint? I have heard a few youtubers recommend doing that to get a smooth finish. I have tested on a kit with some armor parts sanded and other pieces left as is. I didn't see any difference.

No I just sand the nub marks and any seams. What i do is wash the parts after im done with all the sanding and before I apply the primer.

I see we both jumped on the Gunner there.  Let us know how the Calamity and that base are.

I’m curious about the Saber of Red too.  I always see these Knight-like Figma figures and they look cool but I know nothing of the properties.

Haha ye It was on sale at Amazon and had to jump on it. Im going to build it after im done with the Alex and Zaku Kai. The Calamity I got to use on the Hobby Japan Sword Calamity conversion kit. I usually dont build 1/144's but this one is special, the tutorial DVD included with that conversion kit is what got me into painting kits.

Same here, I saw the original Fate Stay Night series but apart from that I know nothing of the new ones. I mainly just get the ones that look cool. She ends up a little limited by the armor but overall I like it. What I dont like is the prices for the Fate Figmas, they seem to charge a higher price just because of their popularity.

I don't find the manual paint mixes helpful either. I need up testing a bunch of colors on spoons until there is one I like.

Did you repaint the yellow parts also?

Yup everything is painted. For yellow I sprayed an orange base, shaded it with white, and then went over with yellow.

Very nice, what blue paint did you use?

The manual called for clear blue and white which ended up with me wasting a bunch of  paint and creating a baby blue  I used Mr. Color Cobalt Blue with a tiny amount of purple added into it. Dont think ill follow the manual paint mixes again.

  8. Quick little kit I built for a friend. This one was pretty simple aside from the seam line on the back of the bike. That led to having to mask the lights, then the tire, then the exhausts... Could've finished in 10 days but I got real sick last week. Now I can get back to working on Gunpla, last three kits I've worked on have been for other people

  9. Checked my Yellow today and out of the box one hinge is perfect and the other one has a stress mark running about half the length of the part that breaks. Also checked Stick which was transformed once and back, has been stored since August of last year and its perfect.
