I've got a Sheryl II set available. Shipping would probably cost about ¥110 or so. How much you willing to spend?

Looks like e2046 is coming out with a new recast of the 1/72 VF-4. Whether this is a recast of an original kit, or a recast of a recast, I don't know; however the kits I've bought from them in the past have been good quality (for a recast).

For what it's worth, I just suggested a 1/72 scale VF-11 Thunderbolt, fighter configuration.

Seeing a lot of vintage kits turning up on Yahoo Japan Auctions, that I've never seen before. Anybody know anything about these?
I'm especially curious about the Macross diorama ones, since they give a scale of 1/100 and 1/72 on the package. Which scale is the main part, and which is the accessories? Thanks for any info!!

Better hurry! Ends tomorrow. This is the same kit that I've built.

It's seeing awesome outstanding work like this that makes me embarrassed to post my pathetic results!

Thanks ;-) Any experience with Yahoo Japan? They have quite a few Macross/Gundam related auctions!
Yes, I've had experience with Yahoo Japan auctions, living in Japan after all. It's real tough to shop if you're not Japanese (or in Japan), though. That's why I recommend Celga.

VF-Naitomeapurasu Variable 171!!!
I'm trying to figure out a way to make the payment...
Contact Celga, I'm sure they'll be glad to help. It's been about 8-10 years since I've used them, but I never had any troubles when I did.

You're right! These kits are a nightmare!! But yours results very well, congratulations!!
Actually, I didn't think it was all that bad. I was working on Bandai's VF-25F before this, but I got so angry at how crappy that kit was I boxed it back up and threw on the shelf in disgust. This kit was pretty refreshing, to be frustrated for a real reason! I only broke my cutter knife once, too.

1/72 scale VF-17D Nightmare. Soft vinyl/plastic kit from Wave. Primed by Mr. Surfacer, painted by Mr Color, so that shoots the myth I heard many years ago that you can only use acrylic to paint vinyl kits to hell and gone. This came as either an S or a D. I choose D, because I think the head on the S looks just too damn goofy.
Also, if anyone doesn't catch the reference to my thread title, damn I'm getting old!

Just found this Tomahawk diorama while searching Yahoo Japan auctions.
One day left, and right now the price is only ¥8250.

Technically, it looks nice, but I agree with most everyone else that I'll wait for a nicely detailed, fixed pose 1/72 scale.

I'm looking for unbuilt Hasegawa VF-0S Reactive Armor kit.
HLJ's got it as Yellow Backorder status, so it may not be totally unavailable
How soon are you wanting it? I'm going to head into my favorite hobby shop early next month to reserve a 1/48 VF-1S, and I can look and see if they've got one on the shelf somewhere.

Some folks don't waste any time in getting new kits built. Must be nice to not have a backlog......

How about a Super/Strike Eggplane?
Also, looks like a movie version 1/48 VF-1 A and S is coming out in November

What, no love for the Dwarf?
Well, I always liked this guy better

Thanks for the info and help Jufuemon, there is alot of nice stuff on the yahoo japan link you posted, but, I can't understand a word of it and an online translator really doesn't help.
If you see something interesting on Yahoo Japan Auctions, you can still try and get it through a proxy service. I've used Celga in the past, and liked them. I don't know if they've changed much, but when I used them (about 8-9 years ago) you give them the URL of the auction you're interested in, and the maximum amount you're willing to bid (in yen). Send them a deposit after they say OK, then just sit back and wait. Don't win the auction, they'll either ask if there's another one you'd like to try, or they'll refund you.

I find it really surprising that we haven't seen any blogs or links that show off tons of 1/48 customs. Where's all the fun at?!?! I remember the 1/72's having a ton of modelling groups making custom paint schemes, mode types, etc. but have yet to see any for these newer kits.
What gives?!
I need to get through about 10 kits before I can start on the 1/48, that's what gives for me.

Just keep searching, you may get lucky. I managed to snag an original Musashiya VF-4 from a Hong Kong hobby shop a few years back. I sadly can't remember exactly where it was, though.
Have you ever checked out the Macross kit auctions on Yahoo Japan Auctions? You might find something rare there, too.
