  1. This might have been covered before, but I will ask anyway. I was finally able to purchase a 1/48 Hikaru vf1, and everything was fine except for one thing. On the hip joints where the swingbar attaches to the leg a split formed on both legs at the joint. also there appears to be a black rubber disk slowly working it's way out of the hip. Is this a problem? It doesn't seem normal but, on the otherhand there are no stress marks, and the joint is still tight. Any help would be most appreciated.

  2. Anyway I have heard there is a "Japenese" version of the robotech series, a little more violent, some added scenes that werent in the american compilation, ect...

What, if it even exsits, is the name of this alternate series?

I have been searching e-bay finding copies of the Macross movies for my personal collection, bu t I would like to have the series as well, 36 episodes I beleive..

    Any help?

    Thanks guys,

    Ashton

It's called Super Dimensional Frotress Macross or just Macross. It is indeed 36 episodes, and is the original work on which Robotech is based. ADV is the current licence holder for the series, and you can find it where ever finer DVDs are sold.

  3. I dont think that the UC should be killed, but the early years of it should be given a nice long rest. Let's see some stuff from later, like just pre or post F-91, (I'm still hoping for animated crossbone gundam). Heck lets see some stuff far into the future. I still maintain that a gaia gear movie or series would be kicking rad. Also if aliens were introduced into the UC I think they should be presented more like the moon race from turn a gundam. I.E. humans who have been cut off from the earth for an extended period, and have developed thair own culture, and government. Perhaps a far future story where the long forgotten Jupiter energy fleet returns home to earth.

    Just a thought.

  4. I've got a question about the "No grades". I've built PG's, MG's, Big Scales, Real Details, HG's, and 1/144's. How are these "No Grades"? I just assumed the lines like the Turn A, F90, and F91 Shilouette were just like the 1/100 High Grades. Don't get me wrong, I like High Grade kits and have several, but I'm a little wary of these No grades. Anyone built one and have any advice or input?

The no grade Turn A I did was pretty nice (Had clear plastic beam sabers, good posability, and a pilot figure of sorts.) I know mahq has given pretty good reviews on the f91 NG. But I would still really like an MG Turn A someday as it is one of my favorite gundam designs.

  5. thanks I'll tell her that

What a cool half price book shop. That's what I can't get over --- what's up with all the macross pictures in the bathroom?

Acctually they are all gone now. I don't know if other people made off with them or what, but it is all landscapes now. Still I manage to find alot of macross stuff in that store.

  6. Let's get this straight, since it has been a while since I watched Macross 7 and I don't have the series anymore to go check, all living things have this vast amount of energy hidden within them. It has to be vast in order to be practical to put forth the effort to harvest. This energy sits around inside of our bodies and contributes nothing as, for some strange reason, our body doesn't use this energy. If we sing and become emotional while doing so then this energy source gets bigger ... from our brain's chemical secretations?

I seem to remember that spiritia tended to spike in times of emotional distress as well. (Hence whey if you watch the little spiritia meters the varuta have they creep up during the combat scenes) Whenever one gets emotional or takes part in an act that has emotional significance to them the spiritia levels rise.

Also this energy seems to be in use passively since having it removed turns the subject into a vegetable (at least temporarily).

It is never stated that this is due to chemical secretions. However since the harvester beam thing only seems to work when it strikes the head that could be how it works.

  7. I agree. I always thought that Char's Counter attack had an excellent musical score. Turn A Gundam was good in this way as well. It had a nice mix of orchestral and vocal music. Also in many places during the series the music does an excellent job of drawing one into the scene. For instance at the end of the first episode when Loran is calling out to the Moon Race, the music gives an even more ethereal feeling to the whole scene.
