  1. Seems like 2009 will be a busy year for the PSP.

From Software announces a batch of PSP ports of Armored Core and Tenchu: http://kotaku.com/5262359/from-software-ps...ncement-baffles

Level 5 reveals more infos and scans of their new RPGs this year:

    - Mecha/Plamo based RPG "Danboru Senki": http://www.psphyper.com/psp/danboru-senki-...cenes-revealed/

    - Horror RPG "Ushiro": http://www.psphyper.com/game-profiles/ushiro/

    - Studio Ghibli + LV5's "Dream" RPG "Ninokuni": http://www.dshyper.com/news/weekly-famitsu...s-for-ninokuni/

  2. Ep07 I got the feeling this episode was made for Niike. Not bad, but the whole the officials trying to steal the street sport felt a bit like a "Just do it" commercial.

I dunno. But that is the point of it.

The show is now a war between a sport with official sets and rules vs a street game played for fun with no rules at all.

  3. I've been thinking about putting in the effort to find the new Gaiking... is it any good? I've watched Shin Getter Robo, which was a mess to a casual fan like me, I've watched Dancouga Nova, which was bland and stock-footage heavy, and I started to watch Shin Jeeg, but that seemed just as fan-servicey and bland as Dancouga Nova. Mazinkaiser and Shin Maz are the ones so far that really appealed to me with the right balance of old-school funk and balls to the walls action.

Neo Gaiking is very good, tbh, one of the best remake series so far. Please don't mind the first slow episodes.

Shin Jeeg becomes good at midway, you should finish it.

Shin Getter Armageddon (the 90s one) is indeed a mess if you aren't familiar with the Getter series, but the New Getter Robo series is good and very easy to get into, check it out.

  4. if you like this new Mazinger anime series (and in case you haven't watched it yet)... you should check out the Mazinkaiser OVAs... my fave is ep.4 ;)

Episode 4? Isn't that the beach episode? That ep was funny, but it wasn't as epic as the first episode or last episode.

Anyway, aside from Mazinkaiser (which is a must for Super robot fan), you should get Giant Robo: The animation and Tetsujin 28 2004 due to the similar style and execution (all these shows are directed by Yasuhiro Imagawa).

  5. Is there a subbed ep 6 yet? I'm finally home, so I can torrent the eps if I need to. :D

Gattai is a bit slow this time.

Btw, what do you think of the series so far, promethuem?

I think the series so far can be sum up as "oldschool badass".

  6. Tried it abit. Same old with new way of evolving patapons. The story seemed reset though.

I finished the 1st one. Was really addicted to it. Got most of the gold weapons.

Oh btw...this is good fracking news.

...Yeah, know this a while go.

Goddamn, why does the first SW that gets localized is also the weakest one?

Hell, NIS could localize the PS2 Remake of SW 1 or PSP port of the first 2 games.

But no, it gotta be Sakura Wars V.

  7. Finished watching Ride Back the day before yesterday: it's not a bad anime at all and the political stuff was rather interesting but the whole show was too short to really develop this aspect of the story; it's a shame because it really had a good potential... The mecha designs were original and rather funny but also underused IMO (i.e. not enough action scenes)

Now, I'm onto Super Robot Wars Original Generation: about 4 eps so far and it looks promising, or at least very different than I expected

SRWOG DW is decent, not bad, not great. But the story, especially the ending part, is very rushed.

I suggest playing the GBA games (all localized by Atlus) to know the full story.

Oh well, and the OVA series (3 episodes) is quite good.

  8. Episode 6 introduces the antagonist cast.

James, their boss, who has a thing for every balls (Haruka's included). Falcon is a very famous BFB player, seems like he done something bad, very bad to Iceman's career. There's still another guy/gal whose name I still have no idea.

Falcon's bad ass BF faces off with the Dangan.

  9. Well, just how realistic is to have a giant robot (read Gundam) jumping around on Earth and in climactic fights, even flying around with no wings whatsoever (Turn A)...one word: "anime magic" (oh wait, that's two words :p))

I thought the Turn A does have wings? I mean the Moonlight Butterfly?

But of course, the whole Turn A Gundam thing can be explained due to HIGHLY ADVANCED NANOMACHINES.

  10. Thanks.

This is the first Macross I've seen with the city in space element that really made me think of Megazone.

I've seen the original, I've seen Clash of the Bionoids (the US release of one of one of the old Macross ones; bought it on VHS when I was in middle school, I think), Macross Plus (as much of it as is available on Netflix, I know it's not the whole thing) which really bored me, Zero last week, which I really liked, and thought it was just the right length, and now Frontier.

    Never saw 7.

Considering you don't like silly stuff, I don't think you will like 7.

You should buy and watch Macross Do you remember love though.
