  1. Any Canadians have an idea where to pre-order a YF-19? Don't want to pay insane customs fees from buying from a U.S. shop.

Or Graham, anywhere in Hong Kong that has pre-orders or is just a good place to buy them? I could get my friend there to pick me up one.

  2. But the characters are what was being sold.

That's why Transformers repaints rapidly replaced the original japanese toys.

or maybe it's just because Hasbro/Marvel/Sunbow had the money to pony for an animated series and comics...while Takara could only manage a few blurbs in their toy catalogues about the Diaclone / Waruder war (which I think would have made a much better series).

  3. i remember being a young child constantly watchin the movie on VHS, it still holds up to this day as one of the best i have ever seen. War, death, and the first time i heard a cartoon say curse words, although all he said was dammit. I need to find a copy of DVD somewhere. I love you hot rod you were always my favortie.

Spike says "Oh s***! What are we going to do now?"

I never saw it in theatres, I only experienced it through VHS at the videostore on a dying Sears Viking TV from the 70s that you had to hit to display proper colors. Totally changed my life. I was like 4 or 5 years old. From that moment on, I dared to be all that I could be since I knew I had the touch and that I had the power.

I cheered the death of Optimus, I loved the new guys. I loved Season 3. It was just so much more darker sci-fi and I loved that stuff as a kid. That was my favorite part of the Transformers. I mean, I had nightmares about that Eskimo guy taking a hot iron and cutting out Perceptor's bowels my whole childhood. The 3rd season was just magical and frightening (with that eerie music) and so much more entertaining than the regular 1st and 2nd seasons.

The movie and the 3rd season have some of the best music composed of all time.

  4. I don't know.  It looks okay, but I don't have huge hopes for it.

My problem is, the Turtles I grew up with were the ones from the cartoon, not the comic book.  Dammit, I want Krang, Bebop, Rocksteady, and a Technodrome!

    I hear you, same here!

And that's the conundrum: Whether or not to appeal to the fanbase which grew up around the cartoon, or those who still hold the Turtles as they wer in the first 15 to 20 comic books?

Me? The Turtles are like Highlander. Almost ost of the later shite, including the gay-porn fest, blasphemous cartoon, are simply shut out of our minds, like all the Highlander sequels and (ugh...) TV shows.

I may be a fanboy, but I've always dreamed of doing a real Turtles story set within the firt 10 issues. I'm lame.

Well, you're in the minority because overwhelmingly, people know of the turtles as their cartoon, original movie series, videogame, and new cartoon counterparts.

The comic was never that popular.

  5. The 5 worst things to ever happen to anime all in one!

    1. CG models with cel-shading

    2. Lame pastel CG coloring

    3. Steam punk

    4. Wierd crustacean style architecture and technology

    5. Bland character design

  6. The Sega Megadrive lockout displayed the message that the game could only be played on NTSC systems.

Also, the Megadrive and Genesis had different sized cartridge slots and the Megadrive even had a cartridge locking mechanism which was sort of like a lever connected to the power button that mechanically locked a cartridge into the system via a slot in the side of Megadrive carts.

  7. Animated series, especially older or lower budgeted ones on HD is a laughable concept. There's no point.

There is no further level of detail that higher definition would allow you to see. If anything, it would accentuate the flaws in the animation and cause disappointment.

  8. Lex Luthor in the movies has always been a campy Donald Trump in love with real estate, ugly fashion, and doing stupid things. Routh was misused and Lois was miscast. The kid? Don't get me started :) (looks at my piano).

    Very disappointing Mr. Singer.
