  1. Wrong thread?

Sorry. Should've quoted arbit's comment about wanting ships from the Cosmo Fleet line to go along with the Hi-Metal R Macross stuff.

  2. Wasn't Breetai's command ship like, eight times the size of the SDF-1? Somewhere around there? As much as I'd love to see it coming from the Cosmo Fleet line, that'd still be a big-ass ship, even at that smaller scale.

  3. I guess we were pretty spoiled here in Hawaii. Japanese toys were readily available, including Macross. Y'know what wasn't readily available? Childhood income.

I managed to save up for the Takatoku VF-1S, but never got the Super VF-1S or the DYRL VF-1S Strike Valkyrie. I wanted those so badly.

  4. I'm just happy to finally get enemy mecha toys, instead of models. Beggars can't be choosers. I will say that I didn't think we'd be waiting quite this long to see Glaug and Regult toys.

  5. Well, I'm thinking specifically about the crew compartment of the Glaug/Regult. A Valkyrie should be roughly the same size as a Zentran pilot so that's what got me thinking that maybe the scale was altered a little bit. Doesn't really matter, though. I'm so stoked that we're getting them at all, and they look close enough to me.

  6. Have the scale for the Glaug and Regult been fudged a little bit? Shouldn't they be bigger than a Valkyrie? I'm getting them anyway but in my mind they should be a tad bigger. No?

  7. So it doesn't transform?

Dam if it does i'm in but if not, an easy pass.

I love the monster but that's ways too much space

That's the original Monster, so no, no transformation. If it did, that'd be adding a feature that it never had in the first place.

  8. I don't have a problem with the price. It is pretty huge, and that costs money. I just literally don't have any room for it. I dunno. We'll see. I wanna have a complete collection so badly, and so far it looks like Hi-Metal R is coming closest to helping me achieve that. That said, I wonder how many people are gonna spring for the Monster, considering the price/space concerns. I hope it does decently enough, and if not I hope it doesn't stop Bandai from continuing the line.

  9. 1/100 is to small for my taste and no so cheap as you might think
unfortunately seems to be the future of the toy lines in general
because the big companies like bandai want more money with less inversion so much so that already doing the same with other brands like saint seiya changing the myth cloths for panoramation

Yeah, HMR are small and they're not necessarily cheap, but they're more in line with what I'm willing and able to pay. It also looks like I'm a lot more likely to complete my collection with HMR.

And yeah, I agree with you about what's happening with toys in general. My God, have you seen what's happening with mainline (non-MP) Transformers? Cheap, small, hollowed out with barely any paint! I know they're made for kids, but that's an insult. They're just a few degrees away from being Happy Meal toys. Marvel Cinematic Universe figures coming out at two inches tall, also lacking paint. Articulation getting cut even from supposed collector-focused lines like Star Wars Black Series. And that's just a few examples. Mainline stuff is really going down the tubes. :(

Everything's getting smaller, less engineered, less detailed, more cheaply made and more expensive at retail.

  10. Hell no. I will keep getting 1/60 scale.

PS: I know price are high now....but if Bandai release 1 HMR a month for 100 or 80 dollar. ....why don't get 1 1/60 scale every 3 month (that Arcadia's frequency)

Because it doesn't look like I'll be able to get all the VF-1's I'm after, plus all the Destroids and enemy mecha, from Arcadia. They've had years to do it at this point and shown no signs of moving in that direction. So.. I'm out. And if by some miracle they DO put all of that stuff out, well, too bad. They made me wait longer than I was willing to and charge more than I can afford. They were/are a great company but I have to set limits somewhere. I'm just glad we have options now, compared to the days when we were all scrambling to find Chunky Monkeys on eBay.

  11. I think I'm done with Yamato/Arcadia 1/60 scale, unfortunately. I can't afford to pay aftermarket prices to get all the ones I want. There's no telling if they'll ever re-issue the entire VF-1 line and even if they did, even the retail prices are way out of my range at this point. I just can't shell out $250-plus for every single piece that comes out. They were $130-$150 good, but definitely not worth $250-plus at the time of release. Also, I don't see them ever giving us enemy mecha.

I'll keep the 1/60s I do have, but it looks like I'd be better served by Bandai's HI METAL R 1/100 line. A shame, really. I probably would've stuck with Yamato/Arcadia if their prices hadn't skyrocketed so much. :(

  12. I need Hikaru's TV VF-1J so I can recreate the opening credits battle scene with the Regults and also his later battle against Kamjin's Glaug.

Eventually, I'd like to have these on my shelf:

    Roy VF-1S TV

    Hikaru VF-1D

    Hikaru VF-1J TV

    Max VF-1A TV

    Kakizaki VF-1A TV

    Max/Millia VF-1Js

    Destroids (all)

    Glaug

    Regult x 2

    Queadluun Rau

I'm so happy that we're finally getting enemy mecha that aren't model kits! Took frickin' long enough. Sheesh. I was hoping that Yamato/Arcadia would eventually check off that list, but oh well. I'll keep the Yamatos that I have, but I think I'm done with them, unfortunately. Too costly and it doesn't look like we'll ever get all of the ones we want.

  13. Does anyone know the actual release date for these things?

Hrm. Now I gotta get me a Hikaru VF-1J TV version. I wonder if there's any chance it'll be released on it's own. I kinda don't need the GBP armor.

  14. I can't believe it's still up and available. Good price, too. I wonder if CDJapan got their hands on a whole buncha stock? Good news for us, at any rate. I was starting to think I'd never get my hands on a Regult, let alone a pair. :)
