  1. Very cool, now do you guys remember the name of the transfomer that turned into a ford race car? you know he had Martini written on him.

I wanna see a Focus Rally transformer! and Bumblebee as the new bug.

Only other racers I remember are Jazz, Wheeljack, and Mirage. Mirage was an F-1 racer and Jazz I think was a porsche rally car. Might be Wheeljack, but I'm not sure.

  2. So... which Autobot will this Mazda be?

As I said before, the head resembles Jazz. If it *was* Jazz, something's off. Wasn't Jazz in a rally version of a Porsche in G1?

Also, the only red cars left I can think of are the mini-cars Cliffjumper and Windcharger. See? I finally remembered the second one! ^___^

  3. If painted right, it could be.... Jazz? Nah.

However, that wouldn't be too surprising. Jazz, Prowl, Bluestreak/Silverstreak, and Smokescreen had similar tranformations in G1.

How about.... one of the two original red mini-car Autobots? Cliffjumper and.... who's the other one? Those two could work.

or they could paint on flames, change the head, and instant Hot Rod!! LOL

  4. I believe it's on Jan 17. The time I'm not sure. My little sister didn't seem impressed, comparing Astro Boy to MegaMan... forgive her naivety. I, however, was floored by what I saw. Very smooth animation. A number of things are going on, on the 17th.

....including that hackjob of the Rockman EXE anime... T_T

....but let's not go there... *sniffle*

    Curse you, ShoPro!!!!!! T_T

  5. Got my Alternators Smokescreen today here at Wal-Mart in Simi Valley, CA. As previously stated by others, it's in the Model Cars aisle. I might make a mini-review of the toy if anyone's interested... just point me where I should place it. ^_^''''

Edit: if you're in Simi and you try to get it today (01/05/04), just so you know..... I got the LAST ONE. :D

  6. I'd recently gotten my grubby lil hands on vol 1 of the Rurouni Kenshin graphic novel by Shonen Jump and Viz. I have to say that this is one excellent series. The mix of romantic comedy and swordwielding action make for one excellent read.

I really loved the creator's blending of Japanese history with his own fiction as well as the fact that Kenshin was based off an actual person from their history. This combined with seeing The Last Samurai made December a great month in '03 for me. Bad thing is it makes me yearn to further add to my collection of samurai swords.

I am, however, interested about the plausibility of Kenshin's weapon. The sakabatou, or reverse-edged sword, seems like it'd be possible to create and wield efficiently. Just from look alone, it would appear that it would weigh more than your typical samurai sword. I tried swinging my sword reversed, with the sharp edge towards me, and I could already feel the difference. Anyone's opinion on the matter?

  7. I need these two compilations because I have no NES, and I only have the first and third GB games. I **REALLY** need an X1-X3 compilation because my SNES died recently after MANY years to devote servitude. *weeps* T_T

Edit: Interstingly enough, I've been immortalized in the OFFICIAL MegaMan site (www.mmhp.net) in the X1 tips section for a password. :D

Also, before the net, you used Nintendo Power and other gaming mags to get tips and tricks. ^_^

Finally, I liked the MegaMan Legends series. First series to give a chance for the Mega/Roll hookup. LOL *hides* Seriously, I had fun with MegaMan in 3D. I'd like to see a Legends 3 for PS2 or GCN.

  8. Vernier thrusters might be plausible, which was why that was my *second* guess. My first guesstimate were that they're anchor points for use when lifting the mecha. Why so many? If they are anchor points, imagine taking apart a Valkyrie for repairing/replacing damaged sections of the variable fighter. Anchor points would make it easier to move parts about.

Edit: N/m... Thanks, Graham, for letting me know it was BOTH of my guesses combined. :D

  9. The way I see it about the TV type pilots goes like this... We already have *one* TV Hikaru pilot made... if Yamato doesn't plan to make the others, just recast the Hikaru and paint it. More work, prolly, but that's the way the CF crumbles. :p

Besides, how many TV pilot variants are there?

    Hikaru

    Roy

    Max

    Milia

    Hayao

CF Pilot (like Hikaru's but using green instead of red)

    Did I miss any?

As for the large arm and leg sections on the DYRL and later flight suits, I think those help prevent blackouts during high-G maneuvers. Think about it... Larger forearm and lower leg sections, or be more prone to blackouts. Which would you choose? B))

  10. Could be a sensor as Graham has stated or some sort of connecting mechanism that stabilizes it in fighter mode. A pez dispenser is probably top on the theories list next to the flatulent vent!

Sithlord I believe you're right about those being some sort of connectors. I found a couple of pics in MW's Magazines section... first off...

http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/magazi...2v-mg-page3.jpg: If you look at the smallest pic on that page, you see those same connectors on either side of the GU-15. Granted, this is using a single-mode model of the 19A.

However, look at this pic of a Three mode -19 model. It takes a bit of imagination (which us macross fans have plenty of), but by using those two pics as a reference it's most likely a form of connector.

**My** guess based on those pics is that they might be some sort of hydraulics used in transformation as well as to to keep the -19 together.

Heh heh... gotta lay off the sugar. :D

  11. I had XvT, X-Wing CD, and TIE Fighter on the old PC. I have to admit, the TIE Defender was just so damn awesome!! I've read the X-Wing books and really enjoyed it when the Defender made an appearance. Still, I hate the overall "porthole" canopy scheme all the TIE's had. X_x

Ah yes, the Missile Boat... One has to keep in mind this question: How friggin big that vessel has to be to hold THAT many missile/torps. I still found it amusing to pilot an eyeball or squint packing secondaries when there's really NO SPACE to pack 'em in. LOL :D

Personally, I think the X-Wing games should have been followed more closely for the RS games, but that's just me. Also, I love how they (X-Wing/TIE/XvT) helped the authors to create the X-Wing book series. Just reading them made me feel as if I was really flying along with Wedge, Tycho, and Corran.

Now, just for fun, I mentioned that I read the X-Wing books. I'll list off a few nicknames of some fighters, and you folks figure them out...

    Eyeballs

    Squints

    Brights

    Crosses

    Slims

    Impstars

    Vicstars

Bonus X-Wing Question: What are "Uglies"? (5 Points)

  12. I like guns... but to quote "Chuckles" from 8-Bit Theater... I like swords.

    swords I own

2 katanas (push-tang, one being a Duncan replica)

    1 wakizashi (matches push-tang katana)

1 full tang ninja-to (first sword I got)

    1 full tang wakizashi

1 bastard sword (w/ leather scabbard and rosewood handle)

With my being 5'6" the bastard tends to feel more like a two-hander than a hand and a half. The ninja-to feels super-nice since it's full tang.

Sword is personal weapon. when slicing into a man, you got that personal feedback. nuclear weapons... eh... goes off, big bang, and you don't get any feeling.

  13. Now I have MII on tape (dubbed/movie ver) and I can say I've only watched it in **its entirety** maybe 4 times at most. It dragged in quite a number of parts.

The VF-2SS was okay it that it was homage of the VF-1, but a couple of things about the design bugged me. It looked too much like an updated VF-1J, and the placement of the legs in Gerwalk and Fighter Modes just scream "EJECTABLE." Ick. The only VF I've seen to pull that off beautifully was the VF-4.

The VF-2JA I liked only because of the fact that when in Gerwalk mode it switches to FSW. Other than than, it's just a new look for the VF-1J once again.

The Metal Siren was just.... fugly. 'Nuff Said.

Then again, I only got the tape for $9 from a Blockbuster bargain bin a few years ago.

From a mecha standpoint, I still see the -19 and -22 scraping those MII uglies. For one thing, the -19 and -22 could strike first thanks to their active stealth systems.

Okay, enough talk. *munches of pizza*

  14. Why does the VF-1S Battroid have a VF-1J head?

This is due to the fact that the cover artist for the Robotech RPG (which I have  ) has **ALL** the VF's in the Skull Leader paint scheme, including the 1J which was the only one in Battroid in the cover.

I mean, c'mon... I grew on the HG butchery, but even I knew how screwed up it was to see a -1J with the Skull Leader scheme... or whatever the official name is... <_<

  15. It's a fan fic.....you can do whatever you want.....I mean if you want Isamu to die a horrible death and Guld to come out on top...go ahead...it's your fan fic.

I know. I'm not new to the fan fic arena but the fic in question I was planning to rewrite so it'd revolve around Isamu would be post-MacPlus, thus the question I asked.
