  1. Then how come Kakizaki's helmet, in the same lighting, is still a dark blue?

Someone's got to take a screen shot right before this part where Kakizaki gets hit.

    maxhelmet.jpg

You'll see a VERY noticeable difference in the helmet colors between Max and Kakizaki, a difference that simple lighting cannot account for.

Also keep in mind that we're looking at Max and Hayao through Hikaru's comlink displays of the two. That along with the amount of light coming from the other end of the comlink could explain the discolorations of the helmets.

  2. The only TF with the "Fr" in the name I can think of first-hand is... Frenzy? Not sure though, cuz I'm trying to remember 20 years of TF-ness on an empty stomach. *raids fridge*

Edit: Also, even if somewhere down the timeline they *do* release an Alt. Sunstreaker, will they use the same headpiece or make a new one? For that matter, does anyone have a pic of the head for G1/toon Sunstreaker?

  3. That could mean one of two things.

One: Kakizaki's knows more moves than we thought.

    OR

    Two: That's not Kakizaki piloting that -1A. It's CHUN-LI!!

If it's two, I didn't know that Interpol has a Valk piloting certification program.

Edit: note to self... Kakizaki, not Kazikaki. @_@

  4. I've been meaning to mention this, but as is often pointed out that "Robotech is not Macross". But in the RT world their Gunpods fire Depleated Uranium ammunition. The round does not need to be of fragmentation type to kill the Regult pilot, the "shrapnel" that is sucked in by the force of the AP round does the soft target damage. You just need the initial high speed "punch" to get through the armor.

Now if you will note in Ep 1, where Hikaru shoots the pod... most of the rounds actually go "around" where the pilot sits. although he did have a few torso hits, I'm sure he was in a "Zentran Rage" and didn't feel it, till he died of course ;)

But wasn't that Zentraedi finally offed by Roy capping him in the back? I clearly remember the gaping hole in the back. I could be wrong, but I don't believe that it's an exit wound.

Gah, gotta lay off the eppies of CSI.

  5. During the battle with Bodolza, when Hikaru had to block a volley of missiles to save his hide (resulting in having to jettison the rest of the FAST Packs and head back to Earth), was the ordinace in question enemy fire or friendly fire?

With Hikaru's luck, it'd suck if it was friendly fire vaping the Skull-One's arms. I can see Roy in the afterlife smacking his forehead after seeing his baby get busted up like that.

  6. #13 - Law of Energetic Emission

There is always an energy build up (commonly referred to as an energy 'bulge') before Mecha or space craft weapons fire. Because of the explosive qualities of weapons, it is believed that this is related to the Law of Inherent Combustibility.

For us Street Fighter vets, this is known as "The Shinkuu Hadouken Effect."

    #41 - Law of Xylolaceration

    (from Lyndon Harris)

Wooden or bamboo swords are just as sharp as metal swords, if not sharper.

I wonder if this also applies to the Sakabatou...

  7. I have the RiD Landfill, back when they were sold separately. Landfill's got three configurations but only one config's the most balanced/stable, it being the one w/ the crane and dumptruck as the legs and "Grimlock" as the arms/back.

  8. "DAEDALUS ATTACK!"

"Ummm, captain? We don't HAVE a Daedalus."

"Well 'punch the other ship silly' doesn't sound right, so shut up!"

"But Captain, we HAVE NO DAEDALUS!"

    "Fine... I've got it! SHORYUKEN!"

    "......."

    "...What?"

"I'm taking my coffee break now, sir."

  9. Skull-1, what size do you recommend when using the pencil method? I have a 0.7mm mechpencil, but I'm guessing I'll need the 0.5mm. Is there any smaller sizes?

Also, what's a good clear-coat you could recommend? Once I get my own 1/48 VF, I wanna seal/protect the Valk, stickers, and panel-lining.

Gah, for my first Valk that I want, I'm sure feeling ambitious. X_x'''

  10. Sweet Yoshinol, another MegaMan series has reached its third installment!!

MegaMan 3 for NES was my introduction into the great series long ago. MegaMan X 3 for SNES (*sniffle*) was the only X game I could only beat ONCE, the difficulty at that time was THAT good. Sadly, there's no MegaMan Legends 3. T_T MegaMan Battle Network 3 was awesome, although I prefer the Blue version (Black version for readers from Japan) over the White version.

I've seen a few pics somewhere about Zero's latest weapons for Z3. It looks like what could best be described as a pair of "Elbow Z-Blades." Hey, if you're laughing, I blame my addiction to Soul Calibur II. Mmmm... Sweet Talim.

    Uhhhhh....

Anyhoo, I found some mp3's for the music for Battle Network 4... I seriously got an NES acid flashback... okay, maybe w/o the acid. BN4's very NES-sounding in the music department, which seems to be a 5 steps back compared to previous installments.

I 99.9995% am sure there won't be a MegaMan Legends 3 made, but I can still dream, ne? :D

Til then... Ikuzo!! **ignites Z-saber and slices up a horde of drones**

  11. AFAIK, the VF-2SS was never meant to be w/o the FAST Packs. Considering that the forearm Pack was used as storage for the gunpods and that the -2SS was meant ONLY for space, one can say that they opted not to include a non-armored hardpoint for the gunpod.

Even in emergency entry into an atomosphere, you need to ditch all the FAST Packs and gunpod anyway. You wouldn't want yer gunpod to explode right from under ya, ne?

Also the only time I saw the -2SS w/o FAST Packs was during exhibitions.

I have the Paladium RPG book for Macross II. Granted, I take their info with a pillar of salt, but I do like the lineart. None of 'em show an VF-2SS w/o FAST Packs sporting a gunpod.

If any knows, what kind of projectile system do they use for the gunpods in MII? The RPG books states they're railguns with explosive-tipped rounds. *licks the pillar of salt*

  12. Bah!! I found one Sideswipe and two Smokeys at Wal-mart here in Simi Valley, CA. I held the Sideswipe for a good couple of minutes... then put him back behind the two Smokeys. It just didn't tug my heart to buy it. And I don't really like the Viper SRT-10. If it were the Viper GTS (like Speedbreaker/Sideburn from RiD), then I woulda bought it. I'm not a fan of the Viper RT's.

Now Tracks I can get into, but where's the flying car mode??? T_T At least they kept the shoulder missiles. I wonder if they fire.

A good idea for an Alt car would be the Scion xA. That's be a good sculpt to use for one of the G1 minicars. Gears or Windcharger, perhaps.

  13. Anyone who has BT Sideswipe/Lambor, I was wondering if you could do a scan or make a PDF of the instruction booklet, as I'm really interested in how different Hasbro altered the instructions for the Alternators line-up. I noticed how they kinda forgot to mention about the "tilt steering" on Smokey. Also, when I get my own Sideswipe, I wanna transform the bot right.

Or, if it's already floating around the net, wouldja please plaster a link in this thread? Many Thanks!! :D

  14. Having collected some of the RiD and Armada TF's, I found something a bit odd yet interesting. Some (but not all) of the Mini-cons can fit onto Smokey's arms, where the gun/engine would normally attach onto in vehicle mode. I have the mini-con military planes set that has vehicle/bot/weapon modes. I put the claw mini-con on Smokey's left arm and the shield/throwing star on the right to acompany the gun. I'm thinking of switching the placement. Seems odd at first, but it grows on ya. Sorry, but I don't have a digital camera to show it. >_<

Second thing about Smokey: I noticed that when you look down at Smokey's bot mode from straight above, there are these two circular holes. You'll see them besides the small square holes. Anyway, I was thinking that those holes (square and or circular ones) can used for a homemade[read: I dunno the modeler's term for made-from-scratch models] missile launchers. Better still, maybe a modification of the old G1 missile launchers used by Prowl/Silverstreak/Smokey/etc. Bear in mind that I have ZERO modeling skills, but I've decent amounts of imagination. ^_^''' I thought that might a good idea for those modelers who wished BT/Alt Smokey had those missiles launchers as he did back in his G1 days.

I apologize in advance if I'd offended anyone in the model-making arena. I really enjoy your works, but I simply just don't know the lingo.
