VF-1D decals
in Toys
Now that the 1D conversion kits are starting to ship, I'd like to know how many people would like the decals I designed for them so I can order enough paper and ink to meet demand. Price is $10 per set, shipping included. Please PM me and I will reply with payment details and ETA. I will add names to the interest list as quickly as possible. The designs can be printed as waterslide decals or stickers.

I decided not to include the chestplate trapezoids on the decal sheet for two reasons. The first, as you point out, is that their actual size is an unknown quantity at present. Second, and more importantly, those sorts of details should really be painted on if at all possible. It looks like there will be great panel lines, which makes masking so much easier. I can add the trapezoids for those who are interested, but not until I have a conversion kit to work with.

The part swap is the least of what needs to happen. The 1D has a different color scheme than every valk Yamato has released in the 1/48 line. You're looking at a complete repaint, which often requires some additional part modifications to eliminate possible paint scraping.
I've started a topic in the For Sale forum regarding 1D customizations. Price is $250. You provide the valk and conversion parts, I provide everything else (including return shipping).
Cap'n she looks awesome, one question. For those of us, like me, whose modelling skills, and facilities are limited, how difficult will this conversion be? Are we talking here a straight out part swap where little mroe then a screwdriver is needed, or will we need to be cutting parts? And on a related note, who wants to build mine up custom and how much if I provide the parts?

Just in case anyone was wondering, I still plan on making decal sets to complement the conversion kit. Price shouldn't exceed $10 and they'll be ready to go when the kits become available.

The best thing to do, if you're debating between the content of our sets, is to look at the preview pics posted in the store section of tmpanime.com. We took different approaches in terms of content. I went with a Hasegawa-inspired design theme while Takatoys tends to stay closer to what Yamato offers on the original sticker sheets. Both styles seem to keep people around here pretty happy.
Please feel free to check out my entire catalog. I have almost 70 sets available now. Whew! Also, please PM me if you have any specific questions.

Just a quick reminder that I will stop taking orders on Friday, September 9. After that, it will likely be at least a few months before I am ready to take more orders.

Turns out TMP is willing to bundle this decal set with the VF-1A for those who are interested. You end up saving a little on the decals that way. Tamim mentioned that if you've already preordered a valk and want the decals, submit a separate order for the decals and he will only charge you the discounted bundled price when everything's ready to ship. Not too shabby....

I just finished up designing the following set of decals for the upcoming 1/48 CF release. It will include several lines of extra numbers so you're not stuck with the standard "117" designation.
TMP will be carrying this set in its standard decal form. If you want a custom decal version (different pilot name, etc.) or the sticker version, please PM me. All of my other sets are still available, too. I've been getting a lot of requests lately so I decided to streamline the process with one of my old skool "general offerings." Here's a link to the thread in the For Sale section:

I have them on my web site, but my server is doing something funky, so here are they are. Each image is 300dpi and sized to print on standard 8.5 x 11 paper.

Alpha decals
in Toys
I've had this project in the works for quite some time. What I've been missing are good quality scans of the originals to work with. If anyone can help, please PM me and I'll start the repro process.

Here's the YF-21. I don't have anything for the VF-11 or FAST packs....

This "Marking & Painting Guide" from the Hasegawa kit should help you. It should print out fairly well.

This site should help you out:

I've been meaning to put together a step-by-step decal production guide for over three years now. There are not enough hours in the day, though.... I've pretty much tried every home-brewed method imaginable, including taking my designs to Kinko's. Each one has positives and negatives when it comes to cost, ease of production, print quality, and durability.
I might approach Shawn or Graham about adding a decal production "how to" section to the main site. That is, once I have something written....

I make reproductions of Hasegawa decal sets. If R10 or HLJ can't help you, let me know.

Is there a 1/72 replacement set???
I make reproductions of the decals that come with that kit. They are $10 each, including shipping. If all you need is one or two decals, I'm sure we can work out something where it wouldn't cost you much. PM me.
BTW: if the decal is just dented (not scratched), Grayson's right--you should be able to use it once you add a little Micro Sol during application to smooth out the creases.

Whatever happened to the decals for JMs, I have been patiently waiting for details of when these are available and when to send payment (I already know where to send it).
I don't think the demand for this set was there so it was abandoned.
Not abandoned, just put on hold for a little while. My life went to hell in a handbasket in November and only recently have I managed to get back on track in any meaningful sort of way with respect to Macross projects. With any luck, there will be sets available for purchase starting next month. I have to talk to Nick about it, though. There might even be some at the MW Con....

Hayato Kobayashi created the paint scheme and built the first model showcasing it. You can see pictures of it in the October 2001 issue of Model Graphix. There are links to scans of this issue on the main site.

What's the difference between these two sets Chris?
Devin's Blue Roses (Dark Blue/Yellow Trim) 002 x 2 (with blue rose emblem)
Devin's Blue Roses (Blue Camouflage) 004 x 2 (with blue rose emblem)
Can you post a comparison shot?
