Is this seller smoking crack????
http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ3...abe55QQsbrsrtZl
Hmmm... this guys is located in Japan and if you apply Yen amounts to his auctions, the prices become more realistic. Like 2,000 Yen instead of $2,000. I think he is confused and someone needs to send him an email?
-
I have both of these I and II, and that price is not to much to ask from his POV.
The back of the case has a price of somewhere around 128,000 yen thats $121 U.S. in todays curency exchange rates. This guy is taking a loss if he spent that much 20 years ago. The quality of the tape is very high and can be felt in the weight of the video. Back in the 80's, I believe the thicker tape was used with video store copies as it was more durable, but more expensive.
As far as VHS releases, there wasn't a full VHS TV series release in Japan until 1992 so for almost 10 years the two videos; I Macross Special and II Lynn Minmei Special, were it.
I think its a great find if you are a hardcore collector and way too much if you just want to see the Macross Special

Which CD would she be selling?
NM, I read further I would pay for signed copies of Mari Iijima Sings Lynn Minmay, but I'm not sure if she gets the profits for that one or if Victor does..

I just picked up the second Yoshiyuki Takani book -Wonder Art: Takani Style (2002) and its even better than the Roman Album (1983). There are many more pictures up through 2002 of Gundam, L-Gaim, Sci fi, Godzilla, tanks, WWII aircraft, and even a Nausicaa painting he did in 1984.
Graham was right, its really worth picking up

While perusing the Goth/Industrial section of a local CD Store, I came across a new Synth-Pop act called DESTROID and their debut album Future Prophecies.
I'm guessing by the name they must be Macross fans or the name is an unlikely coincidence, but in this day and age, who wouldnt do a quick Google search when deciding on band names and see a jillion results for Macross related pages? The jacket art features a montage red splattered b&w images of wires, hoses, and mechanical engines; and some Sci Fi mechanics; the Lost in Space Robot and a Tie Fighter, so chances are these guys are also Anime fans.
It's a great album for fans of hard-edged Synth Pop ala Hocico and Aghast View. It features some great samples from LOTR, The Exorcist, and possibly an Anime sample (I didnt recognise it, but it sounds Japanese).
So, does anyone know anything aboiut this band? I couldn't find much info on Net.
If any of you are Industrial/EBM/Syth-Pop fans, you should check them out
They are on SPV REcords out of Germany catalog # OUT 164 / SPV CD 085-39692.

I also collect for the box art. I am also an artist so maybe I can appreciate it from that viewpoint?
I plan on building them some day, but with 187 different Macross models alone (not including Southern Cross and Mospeada) I probably will never finish
Here is Takani's book, from this website:
http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/books/art_takani.htm
Its an awesome book. He also did art for the Nichimo Models which are also fun to collect.
I love the art for the Bandai 1985 re-releases also. They are my favorite to collect I have 13 of 18? that I know of.

This is actually the intention of this website.
The updates have been lacking the last couple of years, but the majority of toys that have been made are pictured here.

How about if anyone has a VF1S 1/72 HCM heatshield for sale?

Has anyone here recasted Bandai HCM Valkyrie heatshields?

Does anyone have the limited edition box for this game and would sell me their Lami Card?
I already have Millia, i just need the other two
BTW a Lami Card is a "Lamited Card", they are like somewhere between trading cards and shitaki (pencil boards)

I am here through the Thanksgiving weekend, do any of you know of any good spots for Macross?
I already hit some good places in the Bay Area (Kimono My House, Pacific East Mall, Boss Robot, and Nikaku Animart) and am looking for good spots here around Sacremento.
Thanks!

The 1990 Bandai re-release might match. Its hard to say without owning one. Maybe anyone who owns both could compare?

IMAI sold their 1/100 molds to Bandai back in the 80's, but ARII never did.
Bandai and ARII have both re-issued their 1/100 Destroids multiple times and as recent as 2000.
They are very easy to find and very cheap.

Years ago I purchased a 1/55 Takatoku Super VF1S in the box in C8 condition, box in C7. The problem is that someone decided to turn it in to a Hikaru VF1S but only got as far as repainting the chestplate Hikaru red so I need a new chestplate.
I dont want to mess with adding more layers of paint and I dont want to use any recast pieces.
Most importantly, the regular release 1/55 VF1S and the GPB giftpack VF1S were grey Valkyries, but the Super VF1S was a white Valkyrie.
Does anyone have an original white (not grey) 1/55 VF1S Takatoku Super Valkyrie that they are parting out?

The Convertors re-release has JAPAN stamped behind the chest, so I would say that the blank one is some sort of other bootleg. Also, Convertors never released a VF1J, only four versions of the VF1S. Hikaru, Fokker, Millia, and Max.
The original Takatoku version has a Big West copyright and other Japanese writing along with the < TT > Takatoku Toys symbol.

This is also how they have the Mospeada DVD's listed and I can tell you right now that there are more than "uncut versions including trailers" on those DVD's.
CDJapan's descriptions are inadequate which is why I am asking if anyone here owns them or has access to them.

I checked both of those sources for information already, but I need to know if there is any extras on the disks like image galleries, commentary, interviews, etc. I'm thinking about saving up and buying the set, but I 'm not going to unless there are extras.
