  1. As the new baseball season begins, she really hyped up!
  2. 2 Sheryls goes to World EXPO at Osaka and met with Macross royalty at his pavilion! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DOYw0tPE73H/?igsh=MTR0OGo5eG42cWxvag%3D%3D&fbclid=IwY2xjawMucRJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBicmlkETEzT2NZRXRta2pjUFF1YXRRAR7KYbEhJfLy2mA5aulQ9qFQcrgad8ZuNLDLZrf67P3E9HcEwRCAKUYTcDtDPA_aem_aFLku7JQOWKbx-K-L_3unw
  3. May'n is so awesome that anything can be a mike! Graphite diamond
  4. Line up for AFASG25! May'n on Sunday!
  5. May'n just informed that she have just completed a photo shoot for a memorial book for the Macross F concert!
  6. Part 2 - Macross F 2025 concert Soft lighting then filled the stage and Megumi returned. Dressed in a white, she sang ‘Sou da you’ - soft and sweet. Next was May’n turn, she too had a costume change but this time it was a little weird. She wore a pink furry short sleeve coat. It looked out of place. She sang ‘Ejen ni’ passionately. The stage was bath in soft pink lighting. Next was another crowd favorite - Universal Bunny. She walked down from the top tier stage to the SMS stage while an extended opening version of the song was played. The crowd cheered as she sang in 2 distinct voices representing the White and the Black. Moving Gears and 4 circular mirrors (each one has a video feed of May’n singing inside) covered the main screen. A great performance by May’n. Next was Megumi singing the cute teddy bear song - Nijiiro Kuma Kuma. The main screen was showing the same scenes in the 2nd movie when this song was being played. However the colors dull a little. Back to May’n, she looked distressed! She’s dressed like Sheryl in the 1st movie (butterfly costume) - the opening of Oberlisk! She ran down the stairs into the Arena area, running past hundreds of cheering audience! She made a left turn after running the depth of 1 block and another left up to the SMS stage. All the while Camera san tried to keep pace with her. Once she reached the Main stage, she sang a line and then she’s on the run again to the furthest corner on the right. All this while singing the song! She sang without a hint that she’s tired from that long run! She just had lots of stamina and knows how to hide her breathing. A short while later, she returned to the center of the stage and completed the song! Next was Hokage Overflow by Megumi. The main screen showed the YF-29 battled it’s way back to the planet together with Macross Quarter. Toward the last quarter of the song, the stage turned red as Megumi turned to face the YF-29 plane which slowly descended with fireworks shooting downward. The plane was really huge now that we’ve got Megumi as a reference! The stage goes dark for a few seconds and then returned with the main screen showing the ruined city of Island 1 and the Quarter landed in the city. I was expecting Sheryl’s voice to do the opening of Sayonara no Tsubasa - end of triangle (iyrics from Northern Cross) but they just jumped straight to the song. Megumi was at the right side of the stage and May’n was at the left. Once they completed the 1st verse, a dozen search lights emitted from the YF-29 as it’s nose tilted downward. Fireworks started to shoot up on the main stage as well as from underneath the plane. As both singers walked toward each other, the plane rose higher and tilted to the left and right as if it was making turns in the air. Both of them then walk to the SMS stage and turned back to look back at the plane (and Alto), they both sang ‘’Ashiteru’’. May’n as Sheryl stepped forward as if to reach out to Alto just as the song ended. The last song for the day was LION! The crowd goes wild! Both of them returned to the main stage and started singing. The funny thing was both of them were off key! But as the song progressed they’re both went back on track. Half way through, they both split and walked to their respective sides (May’n left and Megumi right). There were fireworks on stage throughout the song. The whole concert hall was a sea of Pink and Green light sticks moving to the rhythm of the song. They joined back for the end of the song and it was good ending to the concert! They both left the stage. The stage darkened and the crowd began to chant non stop ‘Sheryl!’ and ‘Ranka’. Light sticks were Pink and Green. It sounded a little like a competition! This went on for close to 7 minutes! Then all the lights on stage were turned off! From the top tier of the main stage, a light source shone upwards through an opening. The Guest of the day came riding up an elevator with a piano! It’s Yoko Kanno - the music/song composer of Macross F! She playing ‘Prologue F’. May’n appeared on the same level and sang Diamond Crevasse accompanied by only the piano played by Yoko Kanno. 2/3 way through, the notes changed and it’s the song ‘’Yosei’’!, but only 3 lines and then it’s back to Diamond Crevasse. Big applause by the audience. Megumi’s turn - Songbird, also just accompanied by the piano. At the end of the song, another note change - Love, Do you Remember (from the 1st Macross SDF Movie) Megumi sings ‘’I Love you soooo’’. May’n returned and sang the same! Both retained their last costumes. They then both sang ‘’I Love you soooo’’. With that, the 1st Encore ended. After that May’n stretched her arms out, indicating that she wants a hug. Yoko Kanno stood up and all three hugged. The audience, burst out in a cheer! Both May’n and Megumi were like her proteges, both got their big break under her tutelage! It was some time since all three had a concert together! May’n quickly wiped tears from her eyes and introduced Yoko as the Special guest! Yoko Kanno spoke in a cute voice. You can tell she’s really shy. Let’s make some music together! All 3 came down to the main stage! A musician handed Yoko a keyboard guitar which she strapped around her shoulder. May’n then asked the audience are they ready ? May’n and Megumi asked floor by floor and those watching the LIVE Telecast! The audience cheered accordingly! The 2nd Encore - Nyan Nyan Medley (TV ver. - same ending as in 2008 at Budokan). They moved to the SMS stage and started singing. Through out the song they exchange places and would later return to the main stage for the ending! Sure brought back memories of Macross F. I’ve always like the TV ending - May’n sings one song and Megumi sings another at the same time but somehow both would match into one! An extended ending! All the musicians came out and played among the singers! The audience goes wild and the cheering goes louder! And Megumi slipped and fell! (Apparently she fell on both days!) May’n invited everyone to jump at the ending note. As they did, confetti popped and rained on the stage! A very high spirited ending! Unfortunately all things must end. May’n invited all the musicians to come forward to be introduced to the audience! After that they all held hands and shouted (without mikes) ‘Arigato Gozaimasuta!’ and bowed. This is probably where the Blu-disc ver. will cut off. The musicians, including Yoko Kanno left the stage and only May’n and Megumi remained. Playing in the background was the SMS Team song - That Girl is an Alien!. Some funny moments followed as both singers went the the left side of the stage to thank the audience. On route, they were surprised that the audience sang along the SMS Team song. Once they reached the end of the stage, they held hands and shouted ‘Arigato Gozaimasuta!’ The audience responded with a loud cheer! On their way to the right side, they tried to wave to as many fans as they could. When ever the song would reach the last word of the lyrics, the audience would shout ‘Alien!’ Once they reached the right end, they waited for the song to end before shouting ‘Arigato Gozaimasuta!’ On they way to the SMS stage, both of them hummed/sing the song too. Here too they waited until the song ended before shouting the same. A really fun moment to see the interaction between the audience and the singers! Both returned to the main stage and shared their experience working on Macross F, May’n - since her debut, she has decided not to sing to make a living. But since meeting Sheryl, she has learned to live n inspire people through songs! So she would keep Sheryl’s song alive for all times. As for Megumi, she felt lonely in her musical career that was until she met May’n and Macross F. Megumi declared that meeting May’n was the greatest gift in life! Both envision a Macross F concert in 2059, and will probably stop singing then. They then made a vow to meet back and do the concert in 2059! They both hug and the audience cheered them on! May’n then whispered to Megumi for a closing stunt. They both shouted ‘Listen to my Song!’ (an iconic line by Macross singers) They thanked everyone and proceed to climb the stairs to the top tier. The audience continued clapping. Upon reaching the top, they suddenly stopped, the both held hands and shouted ‘Arigato Gozaimasuta!’ without the mike and bowed. They then waved to everyone as the elevator lowered both of them down. Everyone love it and continued clapping until both disappeared under the stage. All the while the background music was playing ‘Innocent Green’. Just when you thought the concert was over, a picture of Ranka (left) and Sheryl (right) appeared on the main screen much to the surprised of the audience. The center was empty! Then the word ‘Congratulations Alto!’ appeared! A background scene appeared in that empty space and the sound of an airplane flying by could be heard! Alto’s picture faded in between Ranka and Sheryl. With the words ‘Thank you Everyone!’ and the Macross Quarter appeared on the Main screen and the 3 hour plus concert ended! It was a really enjoyable concert. Hope they keep this part in the Blu - disc release!
  7. The review will be in 2 parts, it will stop at the intermission. Some info before we begin. This is the BIGGEST Macross concert to date - 19,000 people. Total sold out for both days (26th & 27th July 2025) Only the 27th concert was Telecast LIVE to certain countries. We settled down into our seats, the screen was showing the title and rules for watching. After awhile the telecast started and we are taken to K Arena, Yokohama. BG music from Frontier already playing. We could see the audience eagerly waiting like us, for the concert to start. At the point where ‘Innocent Green’ was being played, the stage became brighter. It’s a huge wide stage (26 meters)! The 1st song was ‘Sacrifice’. It started with May’n singing from a glass booth(balcony) on the right top part of the stage, around 10 meters from the ground. She wore a white ‘priestess looking gown’. The main screen showed a ruined Observatory like structure. She was joined by Megumi who was on the far left of the main stage dressed in a white gown also. At the top of the main stage, was the 1/1 scale YF-29 Durandal (Alto’s plane) resting on the stage and weathered. Without completing the song, the stage goes black and a minute later the lights came back on. We see Megumi there. The scene now changed to the interior of the Observatory. She started singing the 2nd song - Labyrinth of Time. Halfway through she’s joined by May’n (still in the glass booth) singing a slow Diamond Crevasse. At the end of the song, we saw the 1/1 scale YF-29 slowly rising (this thing is huge!) from the stage with smoke effects into the air (30 meters above the stage). An impressive sight with a rising soundtrack! Everyone was excited! First time seeing something like this! As soon as it reached the top the stage, a loud crack sound effect and the stage goes dark! This represented the ending of The Labyrinth of Time where Alto’s YF-29 located him and flew off to fetch him back to Sheryl. Amidst the smoke effects, May’n (in her Sheryl inspired blue military costume) and Megumi stood on the top tier of the main stage. They sang ‘Triangular - Fight on stage’! The background screen shows a close up view of the Macross Quarter. YF-29, and the rest of Skull squadron (VF-25s) began to fly around the Quarter! The next song was ‘Welcome to My Fan Club’s Night!’. Only May’n remained on stage. The crowd loved it as she gave a strong finish. Next up is ‘What ‘bout my star?’. May’n sang with a softer/cute voice. Her expression were more playful. She came down to the Main Stage, where all the musicians were and we can see a quartet of strings. She then strolled down to the SMS stage. She ended the song with a heart sign pose. The next song got the crowd screaming! Northern Cross! She stood on the top tier stage. The background visuals looked like she warped out from another dimension! The chanting of the audience at Yokohama gave everyone rising expectation! Even for us who were watching in the cinema, felt like we were there! Each time she reached the end of the chorus, she would belt out the lyrics, full of emotions, the fans totally loved it! One thing I noticed missing, in the past the fans would follow her doing the ‘Northern Cross sign’ with their light sticks but after Covid-19, it’s no longer followed! The song ended with a fantastic finish! Stage went dark and then the familiar opening to Sagittarius Gogo 9pm - Don’t be late! Another guaranteed hit! May’n ’pulled’ off her Blue Military costume to reveal a sexy black leather strap costume also inspired by Sheryl! The fans shouted a ‘WOW!’ She shouted ‘K Arena! Listen to my Song!’ . She strut down to the main stage and confidently delivered the song! At one point, the main screen was showing what looked like a hundred missiles doing that ‘Itano Circus’ thing! When come the chorus part, she ran to the left side and looked at the fans from the Arena to the top floor, acknowledging their presence and then ran the length of the stage to the far right, doing the same there. All this while the fans cheer as hard as they possibly can! Super fun song! Then it’s Megumi’s turn. She appeared somewhere in the middle of the Arena, wearing an orange dress. As she walked slowly to the SMS stage, she sang her iconic ‘Aimo’. The audience turned their light sticks to green. A beautiful haunting piece. The next song was ‘Neko Nikki - Cat’s Dairy’. The Main screen showed colorful shapes and stars. She sang in a sweet but mature voice. Next was ‘Ánata no Oto - The Sound of You’. Delightful. Following a streak of Ranka’s best songs was ‘Seikan Hikou’, where in Episode 12 Ranka arrived in time to save the day in Micheal’s VF-25G armed with amplifiers. That scene was recreated here with the YF-29 coming down and hovered above Megumi at the top tier of the stage! The stage goes dark once the song concluded. From the dark came the song ‘What ‘bout my Star@Formo. She made her way down to the SMS stage. Once she completed the 1st verse, she was joined by May’n (sexy outfit) from the top tier stage. They then met each other at the main stage. Time to engage with the fans. May’n shouted ‘K-Arena!’ and Megumi shouted ‘Yokohama!’ The crowd responded in kind. Then May’n again shouted ‘K-Arena!’ Megumi hesitated and then shouted ‘Yokohama!’. They then introduced themselves and the title of today’s concert. They thanked everyone attending the concert including those watching the LIVE telecast. They looked at a camera and want to hear us cheer but what they got was cheering from Yokohama audience! May’n then request the Yokohama fans not to joim in. They both looked at the camera again and encouraged us to cheer. Of course we cheered though we know they can’t hear us. Next, they called out to those at K-Arena! May’n shouted ‘AREEEENA!’ , the crowd in the Arena section replied in a tremendous roar. Then it’s Megumi’s turn - ‘Level Three!’ and followed by 5 and 7. And finally ‘Everyone!’ Then May’n shouted ‘Megumi!’ She let out a loooong cheer! Which surprised everyone! Megumi then shouted ‘May’n!’. An May’n does the same but goes down on the knee as if out of breath! They then thanked everyone for their continuing support of Macross F. Coincidentally, today (27th May) is Alto’s Birthday! So the 2 of them devised a greeting and asked everyone to join in - Happy Birthday Alto Kuuun! (stress on the Kun!) What followed felt like a comedic moment, where Megumi spot a cute voice and introduced the next set of short commercial jingle songs from the Macross F movies. Since it’s a Karaoke, May’n invited the audience to join in. The 1st was Pink Monsoon (1st ever time performed in a duet), they sung the song back to back and May’n doing all the sexy moves! Next was the Nyan-nyan song (May’n), Dynamic Chougokin (May’n), Daimaru Seminar (Megumi), Starlight Natto, Ninjin Loves you yeah!(when Megumi sang the crowd shouted Ranka! But when May’n sang the crowd shouted May’n!??), Koi wa Dog Fight and finally Gira - Gira Summer. The song ended with a salute pose with their body bend backwards! May’n was more extreme, wondered how she could bend that far back without tipping over! Seriously these two were having a good time and playing around on stage! Stage goes dark afterwards . A wormhole appeared, and the YF-29 started descending from the ceiling. Alto’s voice (Yuichi Nakamura) began to broadcast. The plane reached Earth, tilted upward as it descend through the atmosphere - fiery scene with fireworks shooting from underneath the plane. Once cleared, it was blue skies and the plane tilted downward - to reach Yokohama - lots of lights and fog effects. It even tilted left and right (flying thru turbulence). Finally it arrived and the plane tilted upward and rise back up to the ceiling as if flying over the audience! Then the stage goes dark. This was actually an Intermission!
  8. Wow, it took me more than a month before I completed my review of the Macross F 2025 concert. Anyway, it will be in 2 parts. I've also made a rough setup of the stage used in the concert for reference. During the telecast in our cinema, a black screen would swipe across the screen left to right and then back to the left, disrupting sometimes important scenes! It happened at every set intervals but at another cinema, it was different! The telecast was interrupted for a short time and the bottom of the screen has noise interference but no black screen swipes. Also , the camera director would failed to capture the dramatic ending of to a song when the singers would strike a pose! Instead if a close up or mid shot from the front, he would switch to a strange angle somewhere from the right side of the stage. Let’s hope it’s a different cut when it goes to the Blu-ray format!
  9. Pictures from Anisama 2025 and the look really nice!
