  1. Ready Player One is an upcoming dystopian sci-fi film directed by Steven Spielberg, based on the 2011 novel by Ernest Cline (Fanboys). The film stars Tye Sheridan (Scott/Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse), Olivia Cooke (Emma in Bates Motel), Ben Mendelsohn (John Daggett in The Dark Knight Rises, Orson Krennic in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story), Mark Rylance (Rudolf Abel in Bridge of Spies), Simon Pegg (Scotty in Star Trek [2009], Unkar Plutt in Star Wars: The Force Awakens), and T. J. Miller (Lucas in Transformers: Age of Extinction, Tuffnut in How to Train Your Dragon). The film is slated for release on March 30, 2018. Ready Player One @ IMDb
  2. With J. J. Abrams now doing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions, and Bad Robot announced the new director of the third Star Trek installment. Lens flares will now be replaced with neon lighting and NOS. "Ask any Starfleet Officer, any real Starfleet Officer. It don't matter if it's by an inch or a parsec. Winning's winning." "I live my life a warp factor at a time; nothing else matters. For those 10 seconds or less, I'm free." Star Trek 3's New Director Will Be Fast & Furious 6's Helmer Justin Lin
  3. Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt Jeremy Renner as William Brandt Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell Sean Harris Rebecca Ferguson Alec Baldwin as the Head of the CIA Simon McBurney Zhang Jingchu And that actually is Tom Cruise hanging on the side of an Airbus 400M
  4. The World's End is the third installment in the "Three Flavours Cornetto" trilogy (following 2004's Shaun of the Dead and 2007's Hot Fuzz), directed by Edgar Wright and starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The film follows a group of friends who stumble upon an alien invasion while bar-hopping. Also starring are Pierce Brosnan (Remington Steele, James Bond 007 from 1995 to 2002) and Rosamund Pike (Miranda Frost in Die Another Day, Queen Andromeda in Wrath of the Titans). The World's End opened in the UK on July 10 to critical acclaim (93% on Rotten Tomatoes) and will hit select theaters in the U.S. on August 23. 5. One of Europe's most beloved comic books gets the big-budget Hollywood treatment. The Adventures of Tintin stars Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, Griffin in Jumper) as Tintin, Andy Serkis (King Kong, Gollum in The Lord of the Rings) as Captain Haddock, Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Nicholas in Hot Fuzz) and Nick Frost (Ed in Shaun of the Dead, Danny in Hot Fuzz) as Thompson & Thompson, Daniel Craig (the current James Bond 007) as Red Rackham, and Toby Jones (Arnim Zola in Captain America: The First Avenger) as Aristides Silk. Normally, one would think this movie will flop in the U.S., as practically nobody in America reads Tintin, but it is produced by Peter Jackson (with Weta Digital doing the special effects, of course) and directed by Steven Spielberg - which theoretically guarantees a box-office hit stateside. The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn premieres on October 26 in the UK and December 23 in the U.S. Official Site
