It did!?  Man, I never even noticed.  What an amazing toy it was.  :good:

As much as I like the modern aesthetics of Sentinel's, I hope their Bartley is a lot closer to the original anime design... especially since neither Beagle, MegaHouse, nor even the vintage 1:12 model kit line included a Bartley.

Hey Tekering. Found this from Jenius' Anymoon site. Yeah, Beagle was an amazing toy indeed. Up to this day, I'm still saddened they didn't finish the other two bikes.

The TomyTec kit is more accurate compare to the official line art.

I think the marking is where it should be compared to Messer's and Hayate's. Though I have to admit that the lineart has bigger marking than the DX counterpart which TomyTec has it correctly.

But at the end of the day, Bandai already messed it up in that category from Messer's to Hayate's markings so I'm just glad that atleast they're consistent.

Picked up a second Arad 31 for display in battroid mode. Best looking head imo. Definitely has the traditional style of all the vf-s heads before. Hope the movie armor will fit when it is released. Fingers crossed.

Why would you think it's not going to fit? I mean, this is the latest VF-31 release. They wouldn't re-release again Arad's 31S in the upcoming months just because they need to fix some parts for the upcoming Armored Pack, right?

So my VF-31S exists somewhere between Japan and my house, but I have no idea where.  I had it sent SAL small package and it has been "Dispatch from outward office of exchange" since 7/27.  Has this happened to anyone else before?  I've had a day lapse, maybe two, between leaving Japan and showing up in the USPS tracking system, but never this long.

It's just been 4 days, sir. If this is EMS then we have to start worrying. But since it's SAL expect atleast 7 to 10 days.

Which way is the correct position?

I think the marking is in the right place only smaller on the DX compared to the TomyTec kit. But looking at that picture posted above, it's an optical illusion because the DX Drone Containers are opened so it looks like the marking is lower than it should be.

Like others have stated, if you try to fold the backpack over from how it looks like in the 1st pic OP posted, it'll either give and fold over,  leave a stress mark, or break if you force it.

Edit: I could've sworn we were discussing this in another thread.

    BINGO! http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/topic/44652-arcadia-160-super-vf-1j-max-millia-release/?do=findComment&comment=1368523.

Yes! That's the one. Thanks for posting the link, wmkjr. ;)

Ok. Back to our regular programming. Let's continue the discussion in the appropriate thread. ^_^

That is so March. Haha Congrats!!!

I really like NY packaging for single DX box. Mine was really in good condition even without the brown shippers box

I know. 4 months. But I made a close friend happy for not paying more than $300 for one so that's what matters most. ;)

    maybe for GBP parts

Hmmm. Maybe. But if it gets folded and the GBP armor is inserted, it will have a big side profile in that area. And won't be able to close the wings in Battroid Mode. ^_^

I think there is a misunderstanding, half of the answers concern the STEP 4, flipping the back pack in Gerwalk position, but to me it seems that the thread author has broken the tabs in STEP 5, 2nd illustration: when you open the flap.

    thanks @wmkjr for the picture.

I think what happened is that when he's trying to fold the backpack, the tabs or the part broke that connects the exhaust flap, that part is connected to the hinge in the middle of the backpack. So when the backpack is tried to fold the wrong way, it creates stress on those small parts which eventually will lead to snapping. It almost happened to me because when I'm trying to transform my Arcadia VF-1S Roy before, I see that part opens up when I'm forcing the backpack to fold.

What I hate is the additional steps required for the transformation, the waist rotation is great for posing no argument about that! Bandai could have wisely over-engineered this bar to include a drive shaft or similar assembly, to simplify the transformation and keep the waist rotation gimmic.

I didn't know about this drive shaft but it's interesting enough to see it works in the VF-1's. I'm no engineer but I still can't think of any way to keep the swing T-bar yet still ways of having it rotated or swivel. ^_^

I don't see the big complication here. The original art had, as we saw earlier, the legs swiveled to the "hip position" and detached. Many would call this a proper step, but now it seems to be a hassle?

I don't call it as a complication. It's more of a growing concern for stability once you detach the T-bar from the intakes.

nice work Noel! Looks pretty much legit!

So when is this version due?

    Thanks Spanner. :drinks:

No release date yet, my friend. Just upcoming product announcement during WonderFest. I'm wishing late 2019. ^_^

But this is bandai right. Why do it in two step when you can achieve the same in four.

I guess that's why they don't want it to be difficult for the VF-1. I wonder what's the other things that they thought of or considering when they said they don't want it to be difficult as the SV-262? Curious. ^_^

Aw man, the legs detach and re-attach? *kicks dirt*

I was hoping for perfect transformation.

Actually, it's still kind of perfect transformation. You bring down the hip joints and attach it under the nosecone first then you detach the swivel bar. Kind of like a simplified version or a different take on how the plane transforms as per the original mech line art.

Edit: I didn't see Vi-RS post earlier. It's the same concept only simplified. You can still keep it attached but you're losing that newly added rotating waist articulation though. But hey, what's to complain about when this is way cheaper than the regular DX Valks and Arcadia's VF-1 releases. And it's in 1/48 scale to boot. Right? ;)

The translation for the page is all messed up but what I got from it is they learned from response to the 262 that it was too difficult and not enjoyable to transform. They wanted the VF-1 to be simple and enjoyable to transform.

But that's the thing, right? The VF-1 is already simple enough for them to make it difficult. I guess, Bandai's over-engineering team didn't work out for VF-1's. ^_^

Cool! The article seemed to mention a lot about the SV-262 and how difficult that was to transform and they wanted to avoid that here.

Why did they say that? How difficult they want to transform the VF-1 compared to SV-262?

  13. And here I am thinking that the T-Bar Swivel Joint have a 'swivel' option as what others have pointed out. ^_^

Well, atleast Bandai did something out of ordinary to have a hip waist joint. Which is good in my opinion. Now they need to announce Hikaru's Super VF-1A and Strike VF-1S. ;)
