In what only can be described as a scene out of Tom Cruise’s “Top Gun,” Gen. Mark A. Welsh III, Air Force chief of staff, describes how F-22 stealth jets scared off Iranian jets from a U.S. drone flying in international airspace.The Aviationist reports that in March a U.S. MQ-1 drone came close to being intercepted by an Iranian F-4 Phantom combat plane, but the Iranian aircraft stopped short after a warning by an American pilot. “He [the Raptor pilot] flew under their aircraft [the F-4s] to check out their weapons load without them knowing that he was there, and then pulled up on their left wing and then called them and said ‘you really ought to go home,’” Gen. Welsh said. According to The Aviationist, the Iranians came within 16 miles of the drone.     kinda aviation question.... in the mid to late 80s there was a arcade game where you were a japanese zero and you shot down american ww2 planes. it was played from the perspective of afterburner, i.e. from the rear. i played it on Okinawa alot, but i only found it in the arcades on the military bases. i cant for the life of me remember the name.any one know what i am talking about?

    it kinda pissed me off that they had the Tuskeegee Airmen in p 40s in Itally and they only had them in THe north africa campaign. prior to getting P-51s they were in P-47s a fighter that could argueable be equal to the P-51.

    I got my blueray player from sony and a link to crackle.com was preloaded on it. i was flipping through the free stuff and found Macross and some other Anime series for FREEEEEEE of course my bandwith is crap because i only have dsl.

    i was annoyed at how enterprise went. there were a few good episodes. but it flopped mostly. voyager was the same. but some of my favorite epps were " message in a bottle" "the year from hell" was entertaining and the episode where tom paris got busted for saving the floating sphere of liquid. i didnt not even watch ds9 till the Defiant came along and my brother pointed it out then i watched it. movies wise i love 2-4. i hate 1 and 5 loved undiscovered country. felt meh with generations loved first contact felt meh with insurrection and was ok with nemesis,i think Picard should have died instead of Data. (how many ships can one guy lose before starfleet says enough) i dont love jj star trek as much as wrath of khan but i like it pretty well. i would love it if enterprise had red nacelles but i am ok with it

    one of the things i liked about the recent movie was that the crew was thrown together. voyager was likeable a times for the same reasons. i like the concept of a worn out ship on the border , what is cool with this concept is some of existing established aliens are usually found in run down old ships and would make for more even battles. we know the feds still use old ships as we see them all the time so the production can reuse models. what i thought would be cool concept though would be a strike carrier type federation ship
