Need some recomendations

It has been 10+ years since I stopped building models, I recently got the bug again and have decided to undertake building the 1/72 Hasegawa VF-1S. For right now I need some recomendations on materials like glue and putty products. I also am looking for a really good online hobby store (preferably in the US) to order my materials from.

Second I need references and line art or pics of the cockpit. Of course general reference material for the AC would be welcome, I have just started looking for reference material and haven't yet figured how I want to represent this AC.

Finally I will be using Tamiya acrylic paints, Future, and oil washes for weathering and panel lines. I need recomendations for blends of white for the base paint scheme. Also what are good oil colors for weathering and panel lining this aircraft (I am trying oils for the first time, I used to use enammels). If it helps I will probally pick up these at Michaels (a craft store in the US). And what is a good thinner for the oils.

When I stopped modeling I was just starting to get decent at airbrushing and moderate aircraft panel lining and weathering. So I am sure it will take me a while to recover those basic skills. So I bought 2 kits so I could learn on the first one and have a better chance on getting the second one better. I am hoping to post pics on my progress on this forum and get recomendations and tips as I go. So if you see my post feel free to be critical and make suggestions, it is the quickest way for me to get better. Thanks.

Andrew

The Hasegawa instructions give you the blend ratio's to get the right colours. They use Gunze Sangyo colour numbers but it's easy enough to get comparison charts to other brands or just use Gunze Sangyo.

I use Gunze as well as Tamiya & Vallejo. Tamiya are not big on comparison charts but Vallejo have quite a large on-line reference section & this site although a little out of date has got mountains of info. Colour Charts
