1/55 Swing Bar Mod - Trimmed (nice!)

Recommended Posts

I realize this is the same custom but I wanted to show you the two swing bars I have trimmed down.

The blue one is longer than the skyblue one. They will be incorporated on the appropriate Valks.

I put the color mismatched bar on first for contrast.

Hope you like this. It sure makes a difference in the appearance of the Valkyrie.

I thank my lovely assistant, Charlie (my daughter) for her help. :)

After looking at these pics I can't help but ask myself.....

"Why didn't Bandai do them like this to begin with?"

Is anyone out there customizing the 1/55 re-issues? Sure looks like OPEN SEASON on Jetfire toys. I guess they are so cheap that they are better candidates for customization. I prefer the shorter nose. Looks more aerodynamic when you file it down... But that's just me I know. :)

Yes file them down and put a small bit of bondo filler to extend the point sand it down and you have it a "propper" Macross nose.

Oddly Jetfire toys on eBay in the U.K still fetch a big price. It`s still cheaper for me to buy them on U.S eBay and have them shipped to the U.K.

Anyway on with the mods.
