Thumbnails?

Recommended Posts

Which post in particular are you talking about?

The forum software automatically generates a thumbnail pic for all attachments. The alternative is using a image hosting service which also generates a thumbnail for posting in forums.

well none of the pics in this thread are thumbs, including mine at the bottom:

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...opic=16312&st=0

but the pics in this thread are:

http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...pic=1568&st=900

all the thumbs have an address of http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/

does that mean that in order for a thumb to be generated the pics are uploaded on the forum somewhere?

I know this whole thing is probably so simple, but the method is totally escaping me.

Those pics are hosted off-site. You are using the "img" tags to post those pics.

Those are all attachments. Image attachments are automatically set to generate thumbnails for those attachments.

As I said, thumbnail pics are generated when the image is uploaded as an attachment. Images that posted from an off-site location use "img" tags. If you want to not attach a bunch of images in your post but want to post thumbs, use a image hosting service. Most generate a thumbnail pics and provide you with forum "img" posting code.
