  1. For me the deciding factor of Arcadia vs HMR is what I already own.  If I already have it from Yamato, I won't buy it in HMR unless it's the canon fodder stuff, as I'm using HMR mostly for small scale army building with the non hero units.  If it comes out HMR and I don't have it already from Yamato, then I'll get the HMR.

Also, I discovered some old Micro Machines soldiers in the closet recently and they seem to scale pretty well with the HMR VF-1s, lol.  If I can find a better spot to set them out for a better picture I'll take another one.

  2. I was originally against it completely... and then... gah I couldn't stop myself.  I decided that with so much time until I have to pay HLJ for it I would just setup an auto transfer of money I won't miss to a savings account and by the time I have to pay for it the money will just be there.  It's still going to be the single most expensive "toy" purchase I've ever done and I still completely hate the price but at least this way I won't feel as bad about it.  I'm not even a huge fan of the DYRL design either but I see this (PF) as a must have now if I can afford it because we all know the post-release pricing is going to get completely stupid.

  3. Finally getting around to a few pics of my most recent arrivals.  Featuring: SHF The Dark Knight (love the cape), Figma Link, GTP Space Walls (omg I need more of these already), tiny Titanium Series BSG ships to go along with my Moebius Galactica (finally got a Colonial One, still looking for a deal on a Raptor), and some SW Ep2 Figuarts (Obi-Wan's blade plopped off the hilt when I was posing it, grr.  And holy hell those droids are touchy with arms and hands falling off)

@enphily Grats on the PG Red Astray!  I loved building mine and it's really well engineered and sturdy.  And it looks awesome with the NX Edge SD version

@Lolicon Glad to hear you're ok!  I'm a Houston resident but luckily had no flooding or damage.  Hoping that any of our members that are in the path of Irma will be ok!  Play it safe and get the heck out of there.  Trust me, being without power, internet, food, gas, working toilets, etc for a week or more is not fun.  Not to mention all the places you take for granted that are open day to day being closed for who knows how long or having limited hours and limited supplies..

  4. If you're still on the lookout for one and you want to order HLJ just use Figinstock.  HLJ will periodically get more throughout the month(s).  I've never missed out on a PO from them yet, and I almost always miss the first day.

  5. That's pretty cool.  I never did get one of the Yamatos since I wasn't making the wackier designs a priority back then on a far more limited budget but HMR has been good for filling in the gaps on things I never did get in 1/60 scale.

  6. Just use the Figinstock website and let them notify you from your preferred store.  That's how I don't miss out on HLJ even when it goes order stop.  Eventually they will get more between now and November so I just don't even worry about it.
