  1. Basically just the feet and swing bar are die cast, so more like 90-95% plastic.

gee.. ever wonder why is it called "HI-METAL".. wherein its supposed to be called.. HI-PLASTIC :)

dont get me wrong.. im happy for the toyline, i just wish it was made of metal like doyusha's die-cast build..and make it transformable, now thats hi-metal.

then again as i have said before, ill eat all my words if they release a VF-1S Strike of this line, regardless if its 90% plastic :D

  2. any wild guess when will they make a strike pack VF1S?

Im guessing bandai will follow this scenario..

    1) release vf1j

    2) release vf1j max (exclusive)

    3) release vf1s

    4) tweedle dum tweedle dum....

    5) sales good.. let make the strike pack

    6) release strike pack separately

    7) tweedle dum tweedle dum....

    8) release the combo set, vf1j,vf1s with strike packs..

    9) milked you bwhahahaha...

    :p

  4. It was also released in Revell's ROBOTECH line as "Vexar". Personally, I really like the kit. It reminds me a great deal of the V1 Yamato Valk toys as far as proportions and details are concerned.

HLJ still has it in stock for about $25 USD, with a good selection of pics: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN953433

Missiles with the pylons in snug poly-caps (lots of poly-caps and metal bits in this kit), and plenty of clear parts, including lights, mono-eye and cockpit. The cockpit is also well detailed.

As Daisuke said, though, it is a challenge to build. But it's cast in white, so if you're not into filling and repainting, you could build it a bit more easily just using the cast color and detail painting. Also as mentioned, you have to remove the cockpit and replace it with one containing a closed blast-shield and leg-posts. It doesn't mount the gun-pod in figher mode. But it does retract the hands propely, and it is very nicely articulated.

(I was just given a vintage Robotech version by a friend, and I'm really looking forward to building it as a replacement for the one I had in the 80s.)

thanks for the reply guys, its around $30+ in my country..

    ive done 2 kits already

do you think with my previous builds.. i can do it? im afraid of messing things up.. im a fast buider..the heck even if i skip lunch to dinner..i just want to finish it asap.

any links where i can see a completely built up of this kit?

  5. Hasbro Grimlock is going to be $59.99, less than 1/2 the price of the Japanese version AND with the crown(and I think red sword) that were only available via the MP-8X exclusive which costed even more than the regular Japanese release. I'd get Grimlock, and wait for the reviews on the VF HI METAL VF-1J. For the price, you are getting a ton more bang for the buck out of Grimlock.

you hit the spot.. i guess the question is.. who will be released first grimmy or hikky..
