Well, I just received my HGIF box in the mail. The randomness could have been worse, I suppose, but this doesn't leave me any hope for the single boxes I preordered of the later volumes. Overall, the quality is a lot better than online pics would lead you to believe. I don't like the clear blocks they come with, but at least I know they won't tumble over. I am bummed about the size, though. They are much smaller than the CMs line of Macross trading figures. These are more...GI Joe or Star Wars figure sized, if that makes sense? For consistency on my shelves, I wish these were a head taller. Here was my box:

problem with ordering outside the PH is that you'll be gouged by customs... + 12-15% of your total bill (shipping included)!... or lagay.

That is true, but so far it has never happened to me, only only pay Php 35.00 in customs duties. I suppose its probably just luck, and who is manning the customs office near your area.

Overdrive, Toywave, and HLJ deliver here to the Philippines fine. If you cant wait for local shops like GT & Wasabi.

Like Jepoyako, voted perfect for both my VF-1S and VF-1S with S&S Parts waaay back. Both now have a crack on the left shoulder. My VF-1A with S&S is still crack free.

Yeah heres hoping they will make one and that I can hold out. For my collection the I would prefer that Focker version be the only 1S while Max and Hikaru are 1As.

So I guess there wont be a 1A Max? Only the 1S? Too bad for me.

Battroid

It has flight capabilities, like the other modes. While it's not as good, it's the most maneuverable, since it tends to hover in one spot.

It has the entire mech combat aspect. This is the essence of the mecha anime: Giant robots fighting other giant robots.

It has ground combat capabilites. This is what differentiates it from a fighter. It can provide light artillery roles that a plane can't.

Finally, fear factor. The thought of a 45-foot tall metal man is enough to scare off most people's attacks. Would you fight something of the sort? Can you seriously tell me that if it was your enemy, you would try to fight it? Yet GERWALK looks like a very strange fighter jet, and there's little to no fear of fighters, as a flak field will take one out very quickly. You know not of the abilities of this metal man, nor what weapons to use on it. The Unknown is the scariest of all.

but but Ill be popular with the ladies when I rescue them with Gerwalk and all of them will fall in love with me. Its quite 'USEFUL' for the guys.

Seriously though Gerwalk is the "Jack of all trades" between Fighter and Battroid. You get some advantages of both modes in one. You are quite right in terms of fear factor of the Battroids, but only works for small rebels, early civil war days. Against a seriously equipped enemy (Human/Zentran/Vajra/Protodevln) it doesnt mean much.

I voted GERWALK cuz its my favorite mode kthnxbai.

Pretty nice collection. The red background really hurts the eyes though. Maybe black or white would be better.

Took a quick trip to Manila 2 months back and took home some toys including a Valk with me. So there Great Toys or GT which is in Goldcrest in Ayala Glorrieta and another one in Shopesville Greenhills. They seem to have the best price if you pay cash. In Shopesville there are hoards of other shops you can check out like Wasabi as they are pretty much grouped together.

I can see the weathering fine. Well done, its very nice.

for Valk combat sync, Iteza☆Gogo Kuji Don't be late is the best song in my opinion. It also gave the first impression of MacrossF in terms of the said combat sync.

You will just end up getting all. As much as I love the 1S 1/60 v2, at the moment and probably a few months from now there will still be alot of them in the market. Get the 0S.

My shipment from HLJ arrived earlier today. Took some shots and had some fun with them. The detail is awesome in my opinion, and the height is pretty decent too. I would have prefered her at 1/7 or 1/6 but Im still happy. Here are some pics:
