  1. I went with Normal from the get-go.

If a Macross game was made from a flight-sim engine to begin with, then I'd consider Real. But the lineage here is the Gundam Battle games, so I knew I'd want to stick with Normal.

Another little touch I noticed. When you boost with the YF21 and its variants in flight mode, its wings fold down and the tails fold in slightly.

I just unlocked Ultramode and god dam I don't know if the later missions might be possible. On the first mission of the SDFM campaign, it took me almost over 30 seconds to kill a single non star Regult with my maxed out 99,999 tune point YF21! I beat it with only an A ranking due to getting 0 points for time.

  2. Just out of curiosity, which control system does everyone prefer?

Going into the game I was dead set on the new REAL controls, thinking it would be more like Ace Combat (since Ace Combat 3 was the best 'Macross' game of its generation imo, hahaha - got the feeling just right...but without the transformations), but have found myself going back to NORMAL controls.

Its more cinematic and just fits better somehow imo.

    How about everyone else?

I tried real but went back to normal. Macross air combat is just too fast for the real controls to handle, at least for me.

  3. In what part of the store? So far, I've only been buying units. I'm down to needing just 10 of them.

That stat unlimiter sounds useful for the enemy missions...

if i remember, you need a pretty high shop level to get it. it should be in the same section as the bgm select. i think i was level 17 before it became available

  4. LOL!!!!! I just broke the game! I bought the stat unlimiter from the shop, now every valk can have a max tune point of 99,999 and each stat can be raised until the bar reaches the end of the screen hahahaha!

I should also mention that with high enough stats on your weapons, having packs equipped will actually lower your performance since the missiles you use with packs dont use your base stats even if its the same type of missiles.

  5. I have a "beautyfull" problem XD

My dad have arrive from a bussines trip and he bought me a PSP Go! brand new, but... I can't add the ultimate frontier game to the memory XDDDDDDD

I need to know How I can buy the game from the psp store...

    please help me XD

As far as I know, you're SOL. Sell it on ebay and getting a normal psp is your only hope until someone gets a hack working for it.

  6. Bosses too? I've been using the YF-21 anyway... I spam Missile RS at just about everything, and the Pin-Point barrier keeps my health up. Not that I get hit often... I stay in Gerwalk and Fighter modes and have FAST packs equipped. The problem is when you've got 20 minutes to take out pretty much one of everything, I ran out of time around Gepernitch.

especially bosses lol. you can keep them stun locked until they pop a special of their own in which case they go invincible most don't live long enough though haha. big bosses like macrosses and gepernitches youll still have to fall back on missiles.

  7. Since the YF-21's special was nerfed, what do you guys think the best unit is for clearing the Extra stages? I'm getting frustrated because I'm failing missions not for dying, but for running out of time.

I'm not sure which other valks have it but the super speed special of the vf1j max version lets me get in melee range of anything and punch them to death, even enemy valks in fighter mode. Too bad its stats are a bit lacking being a first gen valk =(

  8. RA 3's Empire faction is a huge pay off to eastern (or moslty anime) pop culture. They have samurai with lightsaber, psychic school girl (Yuriko Omega), giant robo (King Oni), Valk (Jet Tengu)... and the Empire's supreme weapon is a big Samurai robot with 3 heads

The expansion is gonna have a Samurai-ish upgrade for the King Oni and a spin-off campaign for Yuriko herself

And Starcraft II has Valk too, they are called Vikings IIRC, and Destroid Monster-lookalike called Thor.

sc2 has the viking but cant really call it a valk unlike the tengu which transforms EXACTLY like the vf1.

  9. question about the flexistands. In the pics you guys posted, it seems the rods are of different lengths. Will i have to buy multiple stands of different sizes to get them all or can the rods be bought separately?

  10. I got myself a yamato vf-1s 2.0 and I want to be able to display it in flight or gerwalker mode in flight. However, I don't want to just let it sit there horizontally which is kinda boring. Is there a good affordable stand that will be able to pose this thing in more dynamic flight positions? ie.e Tilted upwards and to the sides at the same time?
