  1. As a Beagle only buyer so far I keep looking at eBay and other places to see how low the MH versions will go.

I'm thinking I may buy at $20 each new if they ever reach that point. They look fun and I would not feel guilty about weathering them at that price point. But with all the negative I've heard, anything over $20 seems to be over-paying.

    & They'll do the Fuke eventually I bet . . .

Hey if your interested, I started the bidding at $20 and they end on Saturday.

Also, I believe that the Megahouse Fuke will be released. But once I saw the Beagle version of her, I was sold on their line and decided to sell myegahouse ride armors.

  2. There has been no official word that megahouse cancelled fuke, but a few other message board members have said they were pretty sure she's not coming out. Because of the comments posted here, I have even put the three I have (stick, ley, and yellow) up on eBay. I decided I'd rather have all 4 beagle ride armors then an incomplete set of megahouse ones.

  3. I'm quite afraid at this point I won't be able to get my review up before I go to Orange County this weekend. I've spent an hour and a half taking photos of the toy and haven't even tried transforming it yet. For any of you who have floppy neck syndrome, the best fix I've found for any ball joint that gets floppy is to just cut a tiny piece of clear tape and apply it to the bottom of the ball before putting it in the socket, this generally provides the extra necessary resistance without any threat of damaging anything.

I wonder if vendors will now send all their Maia stock back to Toynami rather than marking it down. I was waiting for these to get to the $49.99 price before I bought one but now I'm afraid that won't happen now. They'll stay at $79.99 and then 50 days from now all the vendors will just ship the leftover stock to Toynami.

I have emailed the company that sold me the Maia and I also emailed Toynami. I want to get rid of this thing even though I already shipped back to Toynami the first one because it was broken. The replacement one I received has a problem with the head not sitting right, the shoulder gun pod won't go into the hole and I'm afraid it will fall apart every thime I transform it. I also want the planned better version arriving this summer that should have the corrected intakes.

  4. One thing that hasn't been mentioned yet is that the stickers that come with the Beta are pretty high quality and top notch.

Compared to Toynami's earlier MPC releases, the Beta's stickers are a vast improvement. They're also much better than most Yamato stock stickers and have practically none of that ugly haze. The "NO STEP's" in particular are big and clear.

Of course if you're still looking for something to criticize, Toynami definitely should have made the Mars Base stickers for the wings BIGGER.

.....But yeah, I rectified that problem quick (and added some light panel-lining to boot!) B)) :

    The added panel-lining looks good.

  5. Nothing broken on my Alpha (hopefully nothing will break tonight when I muck around with it some more). Seems to be fine.

Paint seemed just fine everywhere, but I'll take a really close look tonight if you want.

That makes me feel better since mine was DOA on arrival because of a glued together shoulder. I'm sad to say that this is my second Alpha MPC out of 5 that I own to have issues. But, that is to be expected. I only transform them thru all modes twice a year when I take them to work to display at my desk.

I have emailed Toynami and have their phone #, but they seem to be out for the holidays. I'll have to hit them up probably Tuesday or Wednesday next week sometime so that I can actually get through and talk to someone. With the new releases of MPC items, I'm sure they will be swamped.

Has anyone ever had to deal with Toynami on a MPC return? Do they make the customer spend more money on shipping to return the broken item to be replaced? Any insight for what I'm in for would be greatly apprecited.

  6. Well, I ordered the Beta and the Maia Sterling Alpha and they arrived Wednesday. I can say as everyone else has said, the Beta is awesome. Yes, the hips are a little loose, but still, I like the toy.

Now for the Alpha, what a piece of JUNK! I opened the box, pulled out the plane and first off the paint is not gloss and does not have a smooth feel to it. That's makes sense because it is supposed to be a stealth fighter. I looked it over and noticed right away the glue spots below the intakes, but I figured I could deal with that because you don't see it unless you turn it over. So I decided to transform it, and it was very stiff, as if over glued. I moved the arms over and tried to fold them down for battloid mode, and one of them wouldn't move. I looked at the joint to make sure that there was something missing. I rotated it and some glue that was preventing it from moving finally let go, and under that was a mess, but I decided to continue on and try to fold it down again thinking I could move on. It was still stuck, so I applied more pressure. First the fore arm broke off, and then the sholder peeled right off as if it was made out of paper. The small hinge that allows the arm to fold down was glued solid.

Don't think I am just rough on my collection, I'm not. I am trying to get in contact with the seller of the item to see what can be done.

I just got word from the company I bought it from and they said unfortunatley, I need to go through Toynami for replacement. They told me that if Toynami doesn't respond to my email, that they have a phone number I can use. I'll let you know how things progress.

  8. It says "Robotech Macross Toynami Masterpiece Cyclone #1 Scott Bernard" but that isn't the Beagle version in the picture, it is the proposed Gakken(?) remold that WAS going to be their Masterpiece edition before they swapped to the Beagle mold.

I would be very wary of what you are looking at there.

I was thinking the same thing. I figure that the best option is to periodically check their site and see if the price changes when the product is actually shipping.

  9. I was searching the internet to see if there were any places that listed the Beagle/Toynami cyclone cheaper than the $199.99 list price. I found it listed at Toywiz.com for $149.99.

    http://www.toywiz.com/macrosscycle1.html

I actually called them up to verify the price and they said it is correct. Does anyone know if they can sell it for $50 less than everyone else? I already got shafted with the price increase on the Maia Masterpiece, so I don't want to go and buy this from Toywiz thinking I'm only going to pay $150, then get an email staing they had to hike the price to $200.

  10. I think I'll have my Beta on Monday of next week. If I get it Monday I could probably have a review up on Wednesday. I'm pretty excited.

I should have mine at the same time, but I'm really interested to see the differences between the Toynami version and the CM version. I never got onto the CM bandwagon, but I've seen them listed in the low 100's here and there. If you have the time, please include a few notes about the differences between Toynami and CM.

    Thanks!!

  11. Figures! Here was the email.

    Hi everyone

I have to make a big apology to all of you who ordered the Masterpiece

Shadow Fighter (Maia Sterling) over the last two days. As it turns out,

there was a minimum price that Toynami was enforcing on all of the toys that

we were mistaken about. Instead of being $59.99, the price of the

Masterpiece Shadow Fighter will be $79.99. As a result of this, we will have

to cancel your preorders and let you decide whether to place a new order at

    the new price.

Once again, we apologize for the confusion and the inconveniences.

If you would like to order again, the preorder is here:
