Don't know about you kids, but that was my first worry when this movie was announced. It has all the classic trilogy planet styles...
Yeah, I would much prefer the obviously fake-ass CG alien planets they had in the prequel trilogy.

The project looks like it was very imaginative and absolutely insane at the same time. It would have been a train wreck, that's for sure. Probably for the best it didn't happen........
-
i.........don't not like the way that trailer was cut.
*edit
didn't want to spoil things for anyone. too lazy to type brackets.
I thought it was cut to the music pretty nicely. Just that "Blam" at the end for the 3D notice that wasn't needed....

This thread needs a name change, AGAIN!!
-
I'll play it as soon as it's finished downloading the required 24 GBs of updates.....

Ironically accurate lyrics.
"It's so easy without complexity"

Nice Phillips Head Screw sticking out of her staff........

No, I'm pretty sure this one is definitely the worst. That review video is a close second, lol.
The "Assembly Cut" of Alien3 is a big improvement on the original version. Too bad they were still stuck with the shots of the alien that were really badly superimposed into the footage.

Pitt Street, Sydney, at night....

I haven't seen it mentioned, so I have to ask...
(Actual spoiler, not another joke spoiler)
Did anyone else notice that Finn's not using A lightsaber, he's using Luke's first lightsaber, the one ObiWan took from Anakin? (And that Luke promptly dropped down an air vent in Cloud City. Some people just can't be trusted with toys.)
Because it totally is, which raises all KINDS of questions. Does he KNOW this sword's heritage? How in the hey did he get it out of Bespin anyways?
Kinda old news since Luke's Bespin saber turned up in Trailer 2 being handed over Leia. She must pass it on to Finn....

Was at a family gathering at the in-laws yesterday. My twelve year old nephew isn't interested in the new movie or Star Wars at all
A lot of my Year 7 students around the same age are like that as well...

The new X-Wing quickly grew on me. It's not that different and directly comes from the original artwork.
Can you direct us to this "original artwork" that you are talking about.
Or do you mean this stuff by Joe Johnston from the 70's?
-
And besides, Family Guy agrees with me........
LOL.

The Dr Who effect very similar to the 2001 Space Odyssey when Dave Bowman enters the Monolith..
True dat, but I think that was more luck than an actual attempt to rip off Kubrick. The lineage of the 70's Dr Who opening goes all the way back to the experimental effects they used for the original opening in '63.
-
hmmm a bit trekkie with the reversed into the tunnel shot bit
Still a very similar "slit scan" effect to the one that was used in the Dr Who opening titles in the 70's....

It seems strange that he let the franchise stumble it's own course for *decades" and now all of a sudden he sounds possessive of it.
-
So its got a title and it just gets weirder from there........
-
Probably budgetary concerns. Studio probably wants a smaller budget to maximise profit. if it gets left as a one-off, thats ok. Too many films get sequels that don't need them anyway.

If you liked the way Pena's stories were told, that was taken straight out of Drunk History on Comedy Central... one of the most hilarious and suprisingly most informative shows on TV. There's a bunch of scenes from the show on youtube.
It's a technique that has also been used in films and TV before that too, such as the films Chopper, Shaun of the Dead (Hmmm Edgar Wright, who would have thought?) and some Guy Richie films like Lock, Stock and also Snatch. It's a great technique.......

Just three more years and Cameron gets back the rights...
Yeah, and Terminator will be BURIED FOREVER!
Enjoy it while you can.

Famous for playing John Steed in The Avengers and Count Iblis in the original Battlestar Galactica, we have lost another legend.....

It looks like James Horner has died in a plane crash. No absolute confirmation yet but it sounds like it was probably him in the plane.
If so, farewell to a truly iconic soundtrack composer. I have many CD's of his work in my collection......

What happened to the Game of Thrones threads?
