  1. I agree with Bluemax that if there are no announcement of new products (by Yamato or Bandai) for 2010, most of us wl still talking abt currrent products. THe repeats of the shoulder hinge prblm gave rises to more discussion on it.

  2. IMO, there is no need for v3....all Yamato hv to do is to permanently fix shoulder prblm (smooth pins, metal shoulder hinge, whatever). Then we wl hv a real perfect transformation VF-1!

  3. [*]Yamato will look into changing the shoulder hinge design when they get back to Japan. I’ve told them the plastic needs to be thicker. They will look into it. I will follow up with them about this in a few weeks.

    Graham

Great feedback, Graham, appreciate yr hard work!

If in future Yamata does change the shoulder hinge, perhaps to a thicker one as you suggested, hopefully it can just fit into our existing VF-1. We don't want to buy everything all over again.

  4. I wonder if there are actually 3 types of pins then.. early heavy knurling, completely smooth, and later light knurling..

i believe light knurling is the latest, see my post under GBP-1 where I posted a picture of the pins I removed fm my 1J. It does show much lesser knurling than the 1s Focker.

  5. That said, it will probably be along the lines of the 1/2000 Macross: Limited and expensive as hell.

Another few grands of model kits fm Yamato, i imagine.

Thought the next destroid on the line is Phalanx yet we don't see much news/pics abt it?

  6. I previously spoken to that shop you mentioned & understand they will bring in only M&M 22S (after Max is released) as they thought that GBP-1 will not be out that soon, until I told them tdy that its already released. So I doubt all 3 items can arrive on time tomorrow?

Oh yes...half a grand will be gone this week if it did arrive ...

  7. Just called the toy shop whom i ordered from and paid deposit, such frustrating answer..

They will only ship in when all orders are consolidated, and there is no dates yet, They will only ship in earliest is Jan ( first 2 weeks), latest with no dates... i am so mad with their business handling... and i have to called everywhere to get someone to answer my question.

it taught me a lesson, never pay for preorders, and never order from local shops...

Well they hv to consolidate to ship everything together inorder to save shpg costs, as all the coming release dates like the M&M VF-22S & GBP-1 are so close apart each other.

  8. Well, work both ways I guess, I mean, if the workers started work after a long holiday break, I'm pretty sure that they will be dragging their feet to work for a little while before finding their momentum again... that affects quality as well....:unsure:

That is juz as bad too! I understand some companies are given as much as 1 month break.

Lets hope there is a initial first batch out first.

  9. So why did the VF-11C get pushed back to february and not the M&M VF-22's ?

Perhaps M&M 22s are easier to produce as they are just straight repaints fm previous Gamrin release. The 11C hv new gunpod design & fastpacks.

We were juz talking about 11C being pushed for Feb....that means production to be completed latest by end Jan, before the Lunar New YEar ahead. I'm quite concerned as most factory workers may be in holiday mood during that time & rushing to finish production as fast possible. Will it affect quality level then??

  10. I think the holidays should be about 1 week or so.

Unless they manufacture it by end Jan, else I seriously don't think we can see the release by the end of Feb.

That's right. According to my Chinese colleague, the Lunar New Year holiday at China wl last about 8 days fm 13/2 to 20/2. So can imagine any production muz be completed by Jan latest or miss it for Mar release :(
