What is a cour?

It may have something to do with the fact that this series was originally only intended to be 13 episodes long... as confirmed in the liner notes for BD volume 2.

It looks like something similar to what happened with the original series happened with the production of Delta... the ratings were good enough around Ep3-4 for the show to get green-lit for an unplanned extension. The difference being, in this case, they don't appear to have had a bunch of predeveloped surplus plot laying around the way they did with the original series (after it was cut from 49 episodes to 27 and then bumped back up to 36).

It feels almost like the writing team is having a Futurama moment. As Fry put it, "It took half an hour to write, I thought it'd take half an hour to read!" Way, WAY too much episode left at the end of the plot each time, so it's padded like a menstruating firehose.

Welp. This would explain everything.

Can some explain how the name MACROSS doesn't automatically give it a huge budget to work with? I mean even I, someone who mostly prefers focusing on the characters in a Macross show, am quite annoyed with the slow story and character progression as well as lack of mecha action. Did they just pull a writer off the street or are they funded by some different group?? Why is a Macross series suffering???

Is Kawamori writing and directing these episodes? Doesn't feel like it.

Not too impressed with this episode to be honest

Found the bit with the Windermereans dull as usual and things only picked up at the end when Mikumo and co. broke into the hospital ship. This is a strange Macross iteration. The 'singers' are more action oriented than the 'pilots' who sit down and talk and awful lot. This bunch needs a visit from Isamu to straigthen them out.

So. Say what you will about the music in Delta but I for one find myself singing along (what I understand anyway) and sometimes dancing to the music. I haven't found myself doing that in a long time.

So kudos to the composers, musicians, and singers in this show. Keep up the good work!!

Really? I just checked my BluRay 720p fansub version and it was still the same.

Thing is I could have sworn it was Judah System as well, but I was watching it a few days ago and noticed this. I wonder if there is a version like that. Maybe the original TV broadcast?

Edit: Yes, the original TV version has the Judah System. It also says "AUTNOMY" instead of "AUTONOMY" which they fixed in the BluRay release. I can provide screenshots if you like.

Herman and one of the twins threw up death flags this week. The other old guy also threw up a death flag but the other 2 were waving them higher. I expect one of the twins to survive but he might die later on. It would probably be better if Keith and Roid kick the bucket.

So.... I came across this page whlie in the Macross Reddit sub and while I understand that the writer's only Macross knowledge comes from Plus and Frontier, this article still irks me.

Do a lot of Macross fans have issues with Michel & Klan's relationship?? To me it's always made sense as Klan is, regardless of her form, a full adult Zentradi.
