So now if they are gonna bring back the SDF-01 design they are gonna have to treat it better than what happend to the Global. Or we might just get a massive recap of what happend 10-15 years ago.
And yes the New Macross class was a horrible idea....
The Quarter if better.....SDF-01 Macross Still rules.

I cant find the scan of the leg of the VF-25 on the forum. But if you look at the scan you will see two exit port's on the legs. The Launcher is slim, streamline thin onto the legs. i wish i could find the scan but i do believe it is there and not CGI magic.

Well, that's true, it'll be interesting to see Frontier fleet composition. I don't actually recall seeing non-escorts around frontier, but that doesn't mean much so far.
Well the Hollywood, Rivira class and other Colonial entertainment ships have yet to be seen. Or they might have been phased out. Only future episodes will tell. but since it looks like they have the external living modules that stretch light years behind the fleet. who knows what else they have in the Macross F fleet.

After looking at the line art for the leg I am starting to doubt the the VF-25 has any internal missiles. Looks like there is no room for the internal mag for the missiles.
No look again. The launcher is mounted right outside the engine. But i doubt that there is a large number carried on board.

I always thought those were cannons, not beam guns on the Tomahawk.
nope they are beam cannons. I thought they where too but i watched Robotech and they are beam weapons. The remastered edition did the Destreroids some justice.
-
looks like the Cheyenne has also taken some more of the Tomahawk's weapon load. Could those be beam cannons mounted underneath the Gatling gun?

Well as long as the VF-1 can break the Kármán line, then it can be considered to have reached space and it's pilot would have earned his/her astronaut wings. I mean, X-15s were doing it decade, so what's to stop an overtech laden fighter with the latest thermonuclear engines from doing the same? Just don't ask the pilot to do spacewalks or anything like that.
Raw power. Dont get me wrong the Thermonuclear engines are top of the line. But even in Macross we still see solid rocket boosters that help give extra thrust in situations when its called for. I think that the newer Generations of VFs (Vf-11 and up) use a special type of after burner to help give extra thrust to reach escape V. If you think about the F-22 it has super cruse...cool but we dont kno what its maximum speed is with its afterburner and its new advanced super cruse engines. I think the same applies to this whole VF-1 reaching escape v out of a atmosphere without assistance. and also reaching orbit dosnt mean u break out of the planets gravity well....sadly u will just get pulled back into the planet unless ur carrier is out there waiting for you.

So does anyone have a frame of the VF-27 equipped wit the fold booster? And Alto when he is equipped wit his fold booster also? wanted to kno if the Fold boosters look the same. Couldn"t catch it by eye.

Kind of a waste of money, isn't it, all that dumping of FAST-packs?
dont kno really. might get recovered later on if there is no damage to the. But unless the VF-25 has atmospheric armor package the space fast packs are just gonna slow them down.
-
Anyone know where this come from?
concept for the VF-25 fast pack? It does have a huge GU weapon pod like the VF-27 so i could possibly be a idea for a upgrade we might see later on in the season.

That makes sense except in those situations its better if the targetting computer just locks onto everything. Why be specific when releasing a missile volley? Same with Macross Zero, why choose missiles when you'd wanna shoot all of them down? (starting with the closest proximity of course)
Focusing on 40-50 objects individually in a span of few seconds? Don't think our eyes can do that. But perhaps Ozma just had to focus only on the distance from a firing arc specified by his eyes and the targetting computer targets all targets in that range and viscinity.
The Targeting system has to be extreamly sensitive. When we use our eyes to id something we look at markers on the object. Our eyes run in patterns and when u look at Ozama in that ep, he follows a patten of i guess enemies who pose the most threat. Cuz the rest he guns down with no problem.

I agree.
Like we seen with the VF's your gonna need more than 1 form in order to change the tide of a fight. Thank god the Macross 25 is not the size of a NMC. Right now its like a super sized VF from how they plan on using it from that first engagement. Armed to the teeth, can hold enough fighters for its role and has Desteroids. Not truly over kill unless they start using Reaction weapons....but we are only up 2 ep 9.

I'm guessing that since the Sharon Apple incident, Ghost A.I.s have been dumbed down some and while they don't require direct human control, they probably act under a fairly limited and ridged set of parameters and are not able to handle sudden changes in the situation that well, without new instructions from their human handler, e.g. Luca having to tell Peter to dodge.
As to why only Luca has Ghosts, I'd imagine, that since the Sharon Apple incident there is probably a certain degree of distrust from human pilots about having a mixed formation of Ghosts and Valks operating together in a combat roll. Luca's Ghosts seemed to be there only in the recon and intelligence gathering role, not to get involved in direct combat.
It could also just be due to SMS only having a limited quantity of Ghosts available, so it makes sense assigning them just to Luca as he is their tech and recon guy.
From what we've seen so far in Frontier of both the NUNS and SMS Ghosts, they seem to be used more for recon use than any other type of role.
Graham
Also He was going into a combat and since he is equipped with Recon equipment he would be first to go after. The Ghost could just be his protection as the rest of SMS where combat and couldnt provide him with cover.
As far as making them Dumber after the Sharon Apple event, i would believe so. That one AI took control over the Earth... Would be kinda bad if she showed up again later on in the series.....VF-25 vs Ghost....would be a nice fight.

But its been 50 years and we dont know what happend to the VF-19 design or its history since M7. I read somewhere they are taking the focuses of the designs off stealth. So i would think that the VF-25 is a all over new design down to the transformation system along with its armor weapon package. Setting it apart from the older VF's of the past.
-
I think that it is more likely to resemble the classic configuration. Maybe the SMS have some Destroid cannon fodder sitting in that arm that we haven't seen yet. Does the transformable Monster classify as a destroid or an aircraft??
Taksraven
I think it counts as a aircraft. It goes from Shuttle mode to GerWalk ( The Monster config we all cant wait to see) and a soldier mode...dont kno what its capabilities are in this mode. dont even know why they want a Soldier mode for this mecha but o well. We will see.

Anyone wanna take a guess about the Firepower of the new Macross Quarter class?
-
Maybe after they kill off Ozma? (You gotta admit, theres a 50% chance of that happening given the number of killed mentors out there.) He wants to protect everyone under his command, but can he save himself while doing it?
Well he almost bit the dust already. Think it was ep.4 Not 100% sure. But i am with you on that one. Good chance he might get killed off.
As far as the animation quality i look at it this way. More money into Ep 7 so we can see this nice Pocket sized Macross class earn its stripes.
Anyone know where did the M and a quarter launched from?

'Messiah' - Not a bad name. It's short & simple. Another word for 'Saviour', even if it does so in ways inverse to the one in a popular religion.
Sounds like Gundam SEED. Freedom, Providence, Justice, Savior, Impulse, Savior, Messiah.......

Wasn't Haruna the CLASS of ships that was used in M3? The Algencius or whatever it was that Max & Miria were assigned to was a Haruna-class ship.
Mark
Yep i guess thats where i saw that at. Would be nice to see it get CGI also in Macross F.
-
No the Haruna was a ship in the macross games. It was a missile boat or something like that. but it did have Stealth technology.
-
I guess U.N. Spacy learned that you actually need large battleship guns onboard your starships when fighting in the macross universe . Its not all about missiles and who's reaction warheads are bigger. The new Gold plated destroyer (dont kno if it fits in that class) proves it. Looks very WWII/Yamato with the triple barrel cannons. Very nice. And it looks like it has some of the same weapons of the Northampton. If its just as fast as its parent design should be a hell of a ship.
I seen the Northampton name for the ship on Steelfalcon... and the Same for the ARMD Maizuru steath crusier. And a few other sites.

I thought everyone was assuming the glow was from the knife being reinforced by a Pin Point Barrier.
The PPB system produces disc like energy to deflect oncoming attacks. You see it in the VF-19 and Vf-21 brawl in the mock city in Macross plus. Its a conclusion since we really dont kno what the Technology level is in Macross F.
By the way did anyone notice the Fighter that at the End of Ep. 5 that looked like a Vf-4 equipped with a Fold booster. Granted there is a thruster on underbelly of the fighter but never the less it looks VF-4. Or a decadent of the design.

When it comes to her music she's in "serious business" mode as shown by how she dropped everything to write lyrics as soon as she had some motivation/inspiration.
Yes on a huge pair of panties........those things must have been big.
Something i would never have thought to be seen. A Zentron/Meltron/Mircon friendly Mall....Amazing. Wish i could see the ice cream cone for a Meltron.
Great episode. Def gotta get the sub for this one.

BTW, did anyone notice that Altoh's VF-25 Blade was glowing again. I am really starting to wonder what the heck is the deal with the glowing knife.
the glow could be from the blade made up of or coated in plasma. Its nothing like a beam saber or anything.

Hey sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. At this point in the show it makes no sense to hold back when fighting. All weapons aim at the GIANT LOBSTER!!
I kinda feel like the giant Queen is a rip off of Blue Gender and Aliens. But wit VF's which makes it 100x cooler.
