  1. Hurrah! I just thought I'd pass this along for anyone looking to buy the Macross Triangle Frontier Itsuwari no Utahime Pack with a film strip!

Play-Asia.com Customer Support message from 2011-07-21 17:04:42 HKT

    Dear Oyan,

    Thank you for contacting Play-Asia.com.

For the current stock, they are the first press with the film strip.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Best regards,

    Michelle

I'm stoked and surprised that they still have some left!

Thanks again, Keith, for the quick reply and confirming what is what in terms of bundles/packs/editions.

  2. ...I have no idea how I've missed this thread for the past 7 months now...but I just came across it today for the first time....:ph34r::( :cries: ...From the looks of things the Limited Edition included a film strip? I don't suppose the Pack is the "Limited Edition"? Have I missed out on opportunity in acquiring another film strip? I have so much reading and catching up to do in this thread....

  3. I don't know if this is the right place for this but I noticed that a member was banned from the message board. I was reading over a thread that he was posting in and I don't see how his posts violate any of the rules. If anything, all I saw him do was dogmatically stick to his beliefs; not trolling. I bring this up because there have been times where I have been dogmatic in my stances towards various topics. ...For that matter, I've seen others and continue to see others do the same thing on this board with various topics. I don't suppose the MW staff can go into details as to why the member was banned...but would it be possible to get a little insight as to what the real issue was?

    Thanks,

    -Oyan

  4. HP offers nothing for Vista/7, they only say to use the one from Windows. :p I've re-installed the printer a couple times, will try again though. I'll let the PC cold-boot a few times with no printer attached, and see if that makes a difference.

I would try the HP Universal Printer drivers if you haven't already. If you're using PCL6, try using PCL5 drivers if they're available. Furthermore, if you don't already, when you go to uninstall the printer be sure to delete the drivers upon uninstalling. One other thing...if you aren't already doing so, you may need to install the software/drivers first before you plug the printer into the machine.

  5. Becausei it's the muppets, stop being a hater!

lol, that was awesome! I can't believe I've never seen that before. I'm sure I'll be seeing this movie though.

Edit: Removed the [media] in the quote to conserve space

  6. I remember seeing Avatar in 3D and I was not impressed with the "3D." Maybe it's just my eyes...but I couldn't really see the 3D parallax effect (if I'm phrasing that correctly). I recall seeing another movie in "3D" (the name escapes me at the moment) and still didn't get that sense of depth. With the exception of video games, when I think of 3D I think of images popping out at me...like a hologram would. The only time I really got a sense of depth was when I was looking a "3D" demo in a Best Buy store; however the image was far from being crisp in my eyes - I wasn't impressed. I finally saw the Nintendo 3DS in action a few weeks back and the sense of depth still really wasn't there for me. It all looks 2D to me. Maybe I need to give a longer viewing..and maybe get rid of the notion of holographic images or what have ya?

  7. I recently watched Highschool of the Dead. I really enjoyed the show and liked how it approached a zombie apocalypse. The way it starts out is how I imagine a zombie apocalypse would actually start. There was some fanservice throughout the series that I didn't really care for; I felt it detracted from the show but not to the point where it hinders it. Overall it's a good anime in my opinion - worth a watch.

Also recently watched Summer Wars which I also thought was pretty well done. The premise was pretty cool in my opinion, but I felt the story was weak in a few spots. I feel The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, also produced by Madhouse and directed by Mamoru Hosoda, is a better anime in comparison.

I'm not sure if I mentioned that I had finished Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica in the older thread, but I thought it was a pretty damn good series overall. I really sympathized with the two main characters. There's a word I'm looking for to describe this anime, but I cannot think of it right now. The way it is presented is really well done in my opinion.

Are there any other great series out there worth watching that are rather recent? Anything along the lines of Karas, Katanagatari, Bakemonogatari, Akira, Ninja Scroll, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowoboy Bebop, Code Geass, Bleach, Naruto, Death Note, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, School Rumble, FLCL, Ghost in the Shell, Outlaw Star, Trigun, Gurren-Lagann, Spirited Away, Casshern, and or Macross?

    Edit: Added a title....

  8. Ok, have noticed something odd with Win7/IE9------I can't see anything from tinypic.com. Seems to be consistent, and other people can see those same pics, so I don't think tinypic's acting up or anything. I've even added it to my trusted sites list and I still don't get anything.

Have you tried using another web browser to see if the same thing happens? Are you using the 32-bit version or 64-bit version of IE9? Some sites don't play well with the 64-bit version. Make sure the site isn't listed in the Restricted Sites list as I believe that takes precedence over everything else. There might be an addon preventing you from viewing the pictures.... If you haven't already, you could try IE's Compatibility View. May also want to try and reset IE's settings. If you can view the pictures in another web browser but not IE9, and you've tried those few things....you might need to re-install IE9. The only other thing I can think of is that HOSTS file might be preventing you from viewing the pictures if it has been modified....

  9. Pardon my ignorance, but if I were to donate...which organization(s) should I donate to that would have an immediate impact with regards to relief/aid? The Red Cross...Salvation Army? I've heard and read about donation scams and I'd hate for my donation not to make it to those in Japan.

  10. I'm looking for some recommendations. I only have time to watch one anime from the past year or two right now, and I need some suggestions.

As it was recommended to me by a member on this board, I highly recommend Katanagatari. The story and animation are superb.

Edit: I also highly recommend Toki o Kakeru Shōjo (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time). It came out in 2006 but it's definitely worth a watch.

  11. I ordered both books a while back and they should be arriving at my doorsteps tomorrow! I'm very excited to look at both. On a side note, anyone know of a good way to scan these images w/o ruining the book binding or what have ya? I ask cause I'd like to add these images on to my computer to use as desktop backgrounds. Cheers!

  12. Hello,

I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for this but I was hoping someone would be able to kindly help me. I'm trying to locate the version of "September" by Earth, Wind, & Fire that has the following lyrics in it:

    "It was a shiny day

That made me feel this way

    Oh darling, sweet sweet darling

    Yeah!"

I've heard it in dance remixes but I was hoping to locate the original version, if such a version exists. I've tried google and nothing comes up at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
