Sure! Except we have a more accurate Motoslave toy already. When it comes to new versions of existing products the toy companies should make a step forward, not to the side. Aoshima's version being bigger than Yamato's is a good thing, but if it's uglier then it's one thing for the other.
That's like complaining there are too many versions of Optimus Prime out there. Fans will gladly take all versions offered to them.

They won't stop production for a handful of unsatisfied fans when the average customer won't care.
-
What's die-cast on that one? It's like the old G1 Jetfire toy, right?
-
The Universe Classics series line is cool (minus the useless repaints from previous series), but it doesn't match the first Classics series when it comes to aesthetics or overall feel. Classics 2.0 are mostly movie toys minus the funky heads. I really like my Ironhide. Bad deco (I took care of that quickly with silver and black paint apps) but great mold.

Well, they made a transformable 1/35 Jumbo Grade Zeta Gundam (2' tall). How big would a 1/60 Monster be?

About Animated...
I'm in love with the line. I liked a lot Energon and Cybertron but never felt the need to own all the molds. Not the case with Animated. I want them all, even the repaints, something I normally don't do. They're loaded with personality and they have fun transformations on par with what was being offered in older lines (just look at deluxe Sentinel Prime for instance... brilliant execution). Even the little Activators and the Bumper Battlers are cool. The only weak figure imo is Voyager Megatron (don't care for the alternate mode much and the robot is a bit unbalanced). And I for one love Starscream, it reminds me a bit of the YF-19 or G1 Cyclonus. Looks a bit unfinished in jet mode, but hey, most TF jets do. And Bumblebee is full of awesome as well, great transformation and I don't mind the feet, I've seen much worse.
That said, I can't wait to get newer movie toys, the OTHER series I feel like getting all the figures from. I love complex and realistic figures.

So when is that mold going to be released? 2023? The wait is so long...
-
Besides its extreme weight would require massive joints and would likely wear them out in no time.
Click joints. I have massive robots with big click joints that have no problems with wear.

I just feel bad for Convoy ans his "trade-down".
Trade-down? There's not trade-down man. Were THS-01 or THS-02 trade-downs? Certainly not. Tiny awesome transformable pieces of die-cast art. I don't see why Convoy would be any different, especially since he's BIGGER than both THS figures.
-
I don't see Alternity toys being any more difficult to transform than your average deluxe figure. They will be expensive because of the die-cast and added detailing.

Same height as a regular deluxe Transformer...
And by the way, it doesn't feel cheap at all.

Got it today. Nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. I agree it could have been bigger with a perfect transformation, but as it is, it's still a pretty cool piece. About the only thing I don't like about it are the extendable legs in motoslave mode, they tend to disconnect. Posts should have been longer or foot pegs higher up on the legs.
-
I think it looks pretty cool. I have one on the way (just getting one of the four).
-
I loved the movie. CGI was pretty good too, as was the action. Liv Tyler is always her yummy self. First movie was good too. Different vision, but just as good imo.
-
I don't mind automorph. I think it was particularly well executed on '08 BB, Ironhide, Starscream and Leader Optimus Prime. And seriously, they really don't take away much from the transformation, you still plenty of steps to do by yourself. I have yet to encounter a single defective toy with automorph (Movie or Animated) and I have them all and transform them often.
-
Got mine. The transformation sequence is easy, it's lining up all the parts that is a pain in the ass (when transforming back to jet mode). Gorgeous figure, but like other Yamato toys, barely playable. In that style, MP-03 Starscream is a much, much better toy. Sturdier, costs a third of the price and is just as detailed and complex. Can you imagine if Takara was to work on a $175 seeker instead of $75? It would probably make Valks look like Gobots. ;P

I watched it 3 times already since I got the DVD and it gets better every time. It's my favorite Rambo movie.
Now can they do Lock Up 2?
-
WOO HOO!
Not bad for $200 shipped on ebay.
Link to auction please.

Got mine from HLJ/EMS today. Forgot I had ordered it. Secretary up front says "you have a package." I'm like eh? :wtf: I know what I'm doing for lunch. :D
If you forgot that you ordered a $200+ toy, then either you really don't care for the hobby or you have way too much money to burn...
-
Good review Graham. I don't agree on Yamato being superior to Takara or Bandai, but Yamato still make exciting high-end toys, that's a fact. Can't wait to get mine now (and the 1/48 VF-1J Hikaru I ordered the same day ).
-
It looks fragile but brilliant nonetheless. Just found one for $235 shipped. What kind of pricing are you guys in America getting for it?
-
Rise of the Constructicons was pure gold.

Saw it on DVD the other day. Not very impressed. It's just a bad Godzilla vs Blair Witch Project.
Bubblegum Crisis Toys
in Anime or Science Fiction

No. I know nothing about the anime and don't care, I just like the design of the toy and that's why I got it. And you can bet I'm not alone in that boat. Plus, not all "serious" fans are super anal about anime accuracy. I bet most of them are glad they're just getting toys from that anime regardless of accuracy.
