  1. Grimlock's price tag is still pretty decent compared to what we pay for CM's or SOC stuff. Also, we know very little about Grimlock's transformation so far. What might look simplistic probably is not. Just look at what they did for Classics Cyclonus. You thought the legs were formed just by pulling on them, but no, front and rear leg halves are hinged and meet to form the lower legs. I'm sure Grimlock will have a bunch of cool little surprises. When you look at MP Megatron, he looks like he transforms like the G1 version, but we all know how complex he is.

  2. ok, you guys are getting it all wrong about Voltes V. This is not a re-release of the SOC Voltes V. This is the reissue of the ORIGINAL GODAIKIN version of Voltes V from back in the 80's. So this is the brick looking toy with all of it's metal goodness in it!

I'm pretty sure it's just a retool + redeco (with additional accessories) of SOC Voltes V to allow for the tank mode. The original DX version is shown for reference purposes.

  3. On mine, they don't line up evenly making the hips just slightly out of sync. It's mostly noticeable when in ship mode. They also don't lock in, at all, meaning the legs will just "fall out" of place when transformed. This carries over to gattai mode where the figure will be unstable unless I jam its hip into place. Even then, the hip will pop out and it's all flop-flop-flop again. While the swing out hip joint was, I'm sure, a neat idea in concept, on my figure it fails miserably. The same again for Ideon which has the same general concept, and will suddenly fold itself in half backwards if I'm not careful.

Weird, all the joints on my Voltes V and Ideon are nice and tight, never heard of your problem before... You got double-turded! :p

  4. I'm also a big VF-1 fan, but I didn't ordered the whole Banpresto line because of it.

    Edit: Would you?

Like I said privately to that other dude, only the same 4-5 guys have been steadily complaining about the figure here (and only 1 or 2 actually own the figure!), you included. That doesn't put a lot of weight in the "most people don't like it" argument. Just acknowledge the fact that there ARE people who actually like the toy, something you guys seem to purposefully ignore for some odd reason.

  5. Your post doesn't change anything.

These toys are aimed at a super small demographic of people who like Bubblegum Crisis, which had a decent following years and years ago but not so much now. So finally someone decides to try and tap this small market and all we get are poo. Just because fans have waited a long time for something doesn't mean we're going to take whatever they shovel out.

How about instead of apologizing for companies you try and figure out that paying $100 for a small model (or toy) that looks like garbage isn't worth it.

What, you paid $100? You need to learn to shop at better places dude. :) Also, stop thinking your opinion is the one shared by all "fans". You hate the toy, fine. But others like me like it, you have to accept that FACT.

  6. I'm sure there are people who buy it for that reason, but the vast majority are going to be people who actually know the series. That's kind of how it works.

Except that fans have already kind of turned down Yamato's latest BGC figure. We don't want a toy if it's shitty and overpriced (which the Yamato is).

    1. Read my last post.

    2. All fans are not posting on this board. Only a handful. I don't agree with your "shitty" and "overpriced" statement. And again, I'm probably not the only one to disagree.
