Anyway, I don't expect to work on my models for some time, I'm helluva busy in real life... the only thing that could let me finish the models is if someone is kind enough to send me their textures, and see if they can fit in my models...
  2. for all those that downloaded Maya Learning Edition, take caution: I don't have anything against maya, I think it is a great software package, but be aware that Maya learning edition has been designed in a way that can be used -only- for learning. Maya learning edition has been stripped for the standard file format support, instead of using the maya file formats MA and MB it uses a special file format called MP that can only saved and loaded from the learning edition version of maya. What does this mean? it means that if you build a valkyrie or another mesh, you will only be able to load it in maya learning edition, and NOT in the commercial edition, you will never be able to render it or even export it to any other format. you can import some file formats, but you can't export ANYTHING, so whatever you do with the MLE will be totally useless
  3. rescuing the thread from the madness, here's a new wip from my vf2ss: this week I had some free time and I improved a bit the model... since there's no good schematics, I modeled most of it guessing the proportions of every piece. It is not transformable yet, and note it is a low polygon model, so it does not have too much detail. I preffer to build a global shape with low detail, and when I end with a low poly model I like, I begin detailing every piece without the need of taking care of the proportions. Any criticism will be welcomed
  4. you guys will have to teach me some good tricks on maya... I have the learning edition but I almost haven't touched it... I'm also more in the programming area than in the artist area.
  5. hum... your model looks quite good, specially the body, but the head, I think you can improve it a little... take a look at the head of my 3d model (it's the same I used for my avatar)

    3D MODELING

    just starting the 3D modeling topics I have recently revisited a 3d model that has been collecting dust in my PC for almost 2 years... it's still far from being finished... mostly because the lack of accurate schematics of the vf2ss... anyway, here's the current status with a temporary texture:
