I'd say those are more likely to be unused early designs for Freyja and Hayate.

Bandai did tease the 31 too...that got my curiosity a bit cos the colors look quite nice and detailed......

although looking at the cockpit its not clear glass...

But that's from Bandai's Mecha Collection, a cheap line (¥500 each one) coming this april, that's why the cockpit is not clear (and I even doubt it's going to look like that without some painting), I'm sure TomyTec's version will look much better in the end.

Which variants of the VF-31 does each Delta Squadron member pilot?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's like this:

VF-31S - Delta 1 - Arad

VF-31F - Delta 2 - Messer

VF-31E - Delta 3 - Chuck

VF-31C - Delta 4 - Mirage

VF-31J - Delta 5 - Hayate

Same here, I liked what I saw from Messer and Kaname in the preview episode, my only problem is that I don't like the head of Messer's VF-31 too much.

So are the idols pilots too? I took this screenshot and the pilot doesn't look like it could be one of the girls.

Looks like Alto/Sky end is canon. So, Ranka and Sheryl got together instead and mixed their DNA into a test tube baby. This is who we're seeing I believe.

After looking at the Valkyrie girls, it looks like Macross Delta is going full moe in character design.

I'm kinda disappointed, but i'm still going to watch it.

No. The young guy with the blue hair is our protagonist. The idols are on the side of the heroes. Versus the evil pretty boys.

The planet in the logo gives me hope that the story will take place on a planet rather than on another emigration fleet.

But... I wanna see the idol(s)...

Are there going to be more than one? I hope it's just one, for no other reason than that frontier already did it and I don't want to see it again so soon, although it was so successful in frontier that I can see them trying to repeat it.

Finally! something new about this.

This image helped me to see the two valkyries:

The front valkyrie seems to have forward swept wings but it doesn't look like a VF-19 or 29 to me and it doesn't look like a YF-30 either, so maybe it's a completely new design. The one at the top could be a VF-27 but it looks like a type of ghost to me, or maybe I'm seeing things because the angle and the quality of the image don't help.

Anyway, I can't wait for the live stream which hopefully I'll be able to watch, it'll be on Oct 29 12 pm right?

There's a Macross the Ride manga? If so, where can I shove money at my screen?

I would gladly give my money for a Macross the Ride manga, but sadly it was just a special side story titled "D-days" that came with the Visual Book vol. 2

I must say that even though I would prefer and think it's overall better for the next series to be completely original instead of a remake or an adaptation of something else, I would not mind an adaptation of Macross the Ride.

Or at least they should hire the same character designer for the new series, I mean Risa Ebata did a good job with frontier but the characters of the Ride look great.

Not sure if the ride has the love triangle or the music subplots but those can be easily added. Toy sales would be guaranteed because after seeing it animated I'm sure a -19ACTIVE (and -19EF) would sell like hotcakes. Like I said, doubt they will do it now but somewhere down the line an adaptation is possible.

As for this series, hope they go with female main pilot (which The Ride has) and/or male singer. Shake things up a bit.

I'm not 100% sure, but I read somewhere that Chelsea Scarlett (the main character of Macross the Ride) tried to become a singer/idol when she was young, there's even a special manga chapter where she sings:

And I think that along the story there's a love triangle developing between Chelsea, Hakuna and Magdalena (the character chart I posted up, shows that Chelsea changes from "team mate" to "Kōi/love" the same Magdalena has), so in the end, Macross the Ride has the three main themes or "pillars" of any macross animation or they could always change things a bit if it's not enough.

I'm impressed, the initial trailer hadn't filled me with hope, but this season was much more then I expected, if they could sell this season on Bluray, I'd buy it.

Apparently they will release it on DVD and Bluray later this year.

And I agree, this was really well done, much better than other attempts even "professional" attempts like that awful Chun-li movie.

I hope they can make a second season to continue with the story and include some of the other characters.

So have the names of the mecha been revealed?

The main mecha is named "The Fool", the red one that looks like a samurai is "Furin Kazan" and the white one that belongs to Caesar is "Quo Badis".

There are a couple more that haven't been shown I think.

So far it feels like an Escaowne/Gundam hybrid, which isn't a bad thing. Am not a fan of the main mecha design though.

It reminded me of Escaflowne too, I liked the first episode so I'll keep watching.

As for the mechas, I agree that the main one doesn't look that great, but apparently it will have an armor and the other mechas look awesome in my opinion, here's a scan with more of the mechas:

Who would have thought that Robotech fans get their news/rumors from a Macross forum?, now I'm feeling bad for posting that part of the interview here (all is going according to plan ).

I was just reading that interview to see if Pumyra would appear in the second season of Thundercats, and then I noticed that last part, it was just a coincidence really.

If thats the case they can just hire us. We have better ideas than HG. And we're cheaper

Well there are people who would actually like to reboot Robotech, for example they could hire Michael Jelenic. He is one of the producers and writer of the new Thundercats reboot (which by the way is good IMO), he even has shown interest in doing it.

Dr. T: If you could handle another reboot, what would your choice be?

MJ: I would love to tackle a Robotech reboot. I think that's such a great concept, and I remember it very fondly from my childhood. I think that's going to have to wait until there's a Robotech movie, but hopefully that will be around sooner than later.

It's already confirmed that each season will have 26 episodes and that they have planned two seasons for now.
