  1. I think I got one at NY. After clicking on the Pay Later link, I got kicked out to the waiting area. But I got a pre-order pay later confirmation email from them. Does this mean my order got through? Still at waiting area...

  2. What's this?

Has some kind of preorder madness started at NY?

Seems like Nippon-Yasan now adds you to a waitlist to access their site instead of outright crashing when the traffic volume is too high?

  3. If they can replicate all the detailing and proportions of the original 5-foot film model, I'd be extremely happy with this (though the pricing is killer...). Judging from Bandai's 1/144 TFA Falcon model, there seems to be a lot of extra piping added to the side walls that I don't think are present in the models used in the original trilogy. Plus the 1/144 TFA Falcon has the left sidewall mirrored from the right which I think is incorrect.

  4. Nippon-Yasan had the preorder for the red frame and flyer but then their website crashed and now it's in maintenance mode. The price is pretty much the same as Amiami.

Managed to add the two to cart but as I hit the Pay Later button, the whole site crashed! It wasn't until about half an hour later that I discovered that my order actually got through :D Was such a wreck though, staring at the "site under maintenance" page.

  5. Confirmed, the spikes on the end of the main guns are retractable. According to Yamato they just pull out and can be extended by about 15mm. Doh! not sure how I missed that. Will have to amend the review and add some more pics.

Thanks for the confirmation, Graham. And of course, thanks for the detailed review as well.

  6. Hi, I just got unit 01 a few days ago and I wanted to ask, how do I extend its neck? Is there some kind of a lever or a lock mechanism that needs to be pressed to extend the neck? My ingram's head looks all squished down to its chest.

If the head is FIRMLY stuck in the neck, don't force it out or you might risk breaking one of the neck pistons (like I did). Normally, you can just gently lift the head up without excess force. If that is not the case, then one of the neck pistons might have gotten stuck in its piston socket, which is actually a hole that opens up into the cockpit. To see if this is the case, simply open up the cockpit, shine a light into it, and nudge the piston out of its hole. See the following:
