  1. I Just cracked level 30 first prestige :p . also got the mastery title for the M82 (I hate the .50 cal almost as much as the intervention <_< ). but I'm done messing with FMJ on that AND I got my stinger, now I can get back to f'ing with people's kill streak rewards. also F*ck the heartbeat sensor, man up and use a real attachment. (I use Halo sights on my M4 with scavanger pro, and a SPAS-12)

6 more levels and I get my WA2000 back

i dont think im gonna go prestiging for now. it took me 3 weeks to be at level 70. i love my acr and 1887 akimbos etc. i dont wanna lose them and start all over again.

the usual perks i used are scavenger pro, cold blooded pro and ninja pro but i do marathon and lightweight sometimes to get to the campers real soon lol

the thing i hate about mw2 is that javelin glitch, thank god IW fixed that and their spawn system. but other than rage quitting and throwing my controller in multiplayer frustration, i love this game.

btw has anyone noticed those heart beat sensors can still detect you despite you using ninja pro perk? i would check the killcam and i would see a camper killed me using a heart beat sensor.

  2. Okay, so I have been checking resellers.com for certain companies to beware of for the D90 purchase. I've seen mixed opinions (not here) about getting a refurbished body. What do you guys think about getting a refurbed body? Also, what would be a good all purpose starter lens? One more thing, any suggestions on online stores for the purchase; refurb wise? Thanks!

how much will you be saving vs buying a new one?

i suggest to buy a new one at amazon or wait till black friday and hope that d90 will be on sale at best buy.

  3. The odd thing about these two photos, is that if you examine the originals (and IIRC), A has the focus on the front flower, while B has it on the back flower. Yes, B had the focal further back and the DoF at f/4 wasn't actually capable of covering the whole range

i would never have guessed that ....

  4. Hmm, here's a little exercise for the photographers here.

Please observe the following two shots:

Both shots are taken within minutes of each other. No photo manipulations have been done other than scaling it down for web purposes.

The questions are: Which is a better shot? And Why?

Additional: What are interesting aspects of photography technicalities that these two photos demonstrate?

i like picture "a" better, the exposure is about right.......other than that....... ok ok i give up i dont know

  5. BTW, I fully support the idea that a photographer should learn to shoot on manual mode, to gain a good understanding of the physics involved. That might seem a bit daunting at the moment, but it's not terribly difficult once you have basic concepts correct.

totally agree with you here. there were only few times ive used the aperture and shutter priority mode. i have not even tried the auto mode since got my camera.

hey kicker go to youtube. you can find alot of stuff regarding basic photography and about the D90. its way better than reading.

  6. Nice pictures! I want to take some nice pics with my Nikon D40, but i'm still learning to use the manual setting and stuff. Plus i don't have a good backdrop to use for my pics

buy a white poster board at you local office depot, the bigger the better and they only cost $3 tops

here's another with semi backlit background, no reflectors though

  7. I love it!! thank you for the feedback i actually took the picture in my room with little space for anything due to Mac toys everywhere. I will use a tripod next time. I haven't really learned to use the ISO or adjust it (still reading the D90 book by J. Dennis Thomas on page 60 Chap 2). Still learning on the shutter speed and spot/metered. Thank you so much Lynx I will keep reading and thank you for your feedback I will work in getting a better background =)

    this place is awesome!!

nice start man, keep it up! again i love those customs

  8. Why not both? :D :D :D To be honest I would go for IS/ VR where possible, their assist is very useful. It's only if the basic glass is very much an improvement over the VR lens that I would have issue. Thankfully, Nikkor glass tends to be exceptional, so I rarely run into that.

i cant have both lenses, its impractical and besides i cant even afford either one. we canonites are lucky that our lens are kinda cheaper than the nikon versions

  9. Yeah, I know. I'm just saying sometimes lens reviewers go gushy-gushy over a lens' performance in viglentting, or barrel distortion, or chroma... and then conclude it's THE lens of the year or some such. Doesn't work that way, a lens work within the parameters it is designed with, and whether your photographic needs fall into those parameters would determine whether the lens works for you.

its good that canon has 4 versions out in the market. i had a chance to play with the 3 lens (f/4, f/4 IS and the 2.8 IS) theyre all sharp overall but i love the f/4 IS and the 2.8 IS very much. would like to have one of them in the future.

But to be honest, I can't really think of many situation where I'd want a f/4 lens of any type. It's just not a set of circumstances I normally shoot under...

i start with F/4 when i do portraiture and off-camera flash photography. the DOF is just about right for those kinda stuff

kicker where are those pics youve promised?

  10. Uh huh, uh huh... so how does it shoot? I mean, indoor hall with dimmed lighting, no flash, ISO maxed out, can it still do the job at ranges of 15 ~ 20m? The glass may be good but that f/4 is a fundamental barrier that restricts the lens a bit.

ofcourse it can only do F/4... there is no perfect lens. but there is no denying that this lens is the sharpest (70-200mm canon lens) and the distortion is almost non existent much like primes. im just saying ^_^^_^

  11. muahaha, our numbers grow! Nikon shooters unite!

    nikon FTW !!!!

    according to photozone

"The Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 USM L IS may well be the very best tele zoom on the market today - it is certainly the best Canon zoom lens tested locally to date. The lens was capable to deliver a near-flawless performance is all categories. The resolution figures are stunning regardless of the setting. Distortions, vignetting and CAs are nothing to worry about. The build quality is excellent with the new sealing as a another highlight. On top of that the lens now features a image stabilizer with an efficiency equivalent to 4 f-stops (at cost of shutter speed). The only heartbreaking drawback for some is the price tag which increased significantly to a whopping grand - price/performance-wise this is still very sound though".
