  1. Awesome, thanks for all the responses guys. This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. It's much easier to find info about the v.2 1/60 line, due to it being newer I guess. Too bad I most likely missed out on the Stealth or Low Viz sets (or wouldn't be able to afford them even if I found them!).

check the for sale section. i have a stealth set for sale, thought you might be interested

  2. Vegas??? anybody wanna give me any pointers?? Coming off of my parents old Fujifilm Finepix S-5200. Old camera, but it served us well. Too bulky for the trip though.

sure man no problem. just pm me anytime ^_^

i heard that your new camera is good and has alot of features

  3. Very nice Vegas! My sentiments exactly about the 70-200 2.8; but you know I've gotta represent for the Nikon heads around this joint. Digging the DJ pics too bro. Didn't know you were into that as well. Pioneer ProDJ equipment is the best hands down. I'm taking an Into to DSLR class and my had my first session last week. My assignment this week was to capture a "vehicle"...any vehicle. The only catch is I couldn't use the auto mode on the camera. I pulled out my manual and learned how to change my ISO, aperture, and shutter speed. I took a couple "vehicles" out and tried capturing them while playing around with those settings. It's amazing that once I got an understanding of how those three affect the amount of light coming into the camera that I was able to manipulate how the picture turns out. Looking forward to my next session Thursday evening.

dude, your skills had vastly improved!!! keep it up man.

yah man, ive been dj'ing for awhile but i recently upgraded from a gemini setup to a pioneer one and was so happy that i decided to.

    im rocking 2 cdj 400's, a djm 400, a pair m-audio speakers and a xone xd-53 head phones.

i mainly spin progressive trance music and sometimes house. its nice to know someone dj's here too :)

  4. Thanks!

    For the cars, I used a 16-35mm f/2.8L and a 50mm f/1.4

The shot of Yoko and Canaan were with a 24-105mm f/4L

The Lineage II Elf was with a 100mm f/2.8 Macro

    All shot with a 5D MKII <3

:o very nice bro!!! we need more of those pics from you

  5. Not exactly Macross, but thought I'd make a bump to the thread. =P

Also took some pics of the Yamato Tomahawk recently, but haven't uploaded those yet. I really need to start taking some pics of my Valks.

awesome shots! would you mind telling what lens did you used on those pics pls

  6. thanks eugimon.

    playing with glow sticks:

i think i've stumbled upon a limitation of my camera. the glowsticks are actually purple but the camera renders them as blue. tried various WB settings but they still come out blue. can't figure out why since the camera shoots purple flowers just fine, and until now i was actually very impressed with the color fidelity of this camera, very natural colors rather than the over saturation i've seen elsewhere .

appreciate any ideas on how to make the purple color come out correctly. thanks

    very nice

    and thanks monster

  7. I know these are photos we are not used to looking at, but I wanted you guys to critique them. I took these at a wedding last Saturday for a co-worker who was getting married. There was one photo of her where I thought the bokeh was really nice so I thought I would share it and a few others. One of our staff photographers at work looked at the pictures and told me that I was making good use of the rule of thirds and that I had an eye; that made me feel good. Anywho, here are a few shots. Feel free to chime in on the good, bad, and ugly of it all. B))

doing a wedding already? nice job man i like em but the first one was kinda blurry. dont be afraid to shoot on high ISO's

just like this one (shot this i believe @ ISO 2000)

also shot this with the razor sharp 70-200 F2.8 IS lens.

  8. Not sure if this is an issue with you guys in other areas of the country, but here in Arkansas pollen is a REAL problem this time of year. I was with my family this past Sunday taking shots of everything and didn't take the pollen into consideration. It wasn't long before I realized pollen was caking up all over my camera and lens and I'm afraid I might have "dust" now. I know this might be a dumb question, but is compressed air okay to use on the lens? I used it to blow the outside of the body and lens to remove all the pollen that had collected. I know for future shots this time of year to use some sort of barrier to keep the pollen at bay...

maybe its time to upgrade to a prosumer camera and lens  . just kidding

i would go to my local camera dealer if they can clean the insides of your gear. ive used canned air on my camera's sensor but i would not recommend doing that though. as for the lens, you might want some expert to clean it for you.
