  1. That's a pretty fair price for an original kit.  I haven't seen one for sale in ages!

FYI, it's a bit different from the Monocraft version of the kit.  The cockpit of the Tread is missing, so you can only build it as the linked Legioss and Tread.  The Monocraft can only be built separated. And it comes with decals, unlike the Monocraft.  So to me, this is the version to get.

  2. No, Studio Half-Eye never made any VF-1 kits.

Do you have pics of that kit? I'm not familiar with any resin transformable VF-1s that are specifically Max types. But your description reminds me of Yellow Submarine's 1/100 VF-1 parts-former

  3. Yes I meant resin.

I think I heard you mentioned it on the Macross Podcast on scale models as one of your grail items that you found.

That was you right? Amazing podcast!!!!

Yes, the Speaker Podcast crew were nice enough to have me on the podcast when I was visiting Japan for Wonderfest last year. They're a great bunch of guys!

  4. Except I wouldnt know how to build a vinyl kit to a good level.

Is that the mythical General Products Excellion?

I have seen cool scratch builds.

But I settled on the Kotobukiya Coin Excellion figure. Very nice finish for a trading figure.

Yep, it's the General Products resin kit (not vinyl). It took me something like 10 years to find it.

And yes, the Kotobukiya excelion is really good! Too small for any crazy mods, tho.

  5. Wow, I wasn't expecting to see another re-release of them. Too bad the other three kits in the series aren't getting re-released also

They're resin kits, with some cast metal parts. And the Supersylph also has some brass photo-etched parts. They're great kits, but not for beginners.

  6. I believe you got them from someone else when they were recasting some stuff, I don't recall the exact circumstances, but I DID get them from you... sometime around 2002-2003

Oh, I don't doubt it, I just don't remember it. But when you've bought and sold as many models as I have, these things happen :)
