  1. they're probably readjusting prices higher so they can gouge us some more...you know since it's like the only one in the market and we all HAVE to have our macross fix no matter what the price. :p

but seriously, I think it was just pushed back to April...reason? dunno, just cuz I guess.

  2. so who's recasting it?

I suggest someone from the states recast it...as if we have to send it overseas to get recast...all those recasts will be sent back to us with shipping costs...and we all know how much shipping from asia can be...even in bulk, one person has to get it all, then resend ALL packages to individual persons.

it's not like we can't find a decent recaster here in the states...and I'm thinking majority of the ppl who want one are in the US right?

I don't know if anybody has suggested this but rhoby does very good work and he works fast. anybody tryin PMin him to see if he's interested?

  3. I bought a copy here in China, guess is the same you can get in Hong Kong.

The Subs are pretty decent and the quality is very good. It may be a bootleg, but a damn nice one.

    I totally LOVED the animation.

The name of the DVD set Is not "The Last Love Song in This Planet" But "She the Ultimate Weapon".

If you guys can get this animation... GET IT.

    Sad indeed, but a must.

haha sebas, my sister saw it and said it sucked! but then again, she doesn't like a lot of things. but I know she likes CB!! sorta. :D

haven't seen it myself yet. working on Last Exile right now.

  4. Looks nice. I'd certainly want at least one set... I'm thinking you should do another set in a normal fist type that could possibly fold into the arm if possible... kinda like the 1/60 standard hands...

I would also like for my Valk to possibly be a lefty (hold a gunpod in the left pod), as well...

I'm envisioning you could keep us happy and make a little something to make it worth your while if you did:

2 x closed-fist DYRL hands that can fold in the arms AND hold a gunpod

2 x posed DYRL hands with trigger finger extended (left and right)

2 x posed DYRL open-hand (left and right)

I might even take 2 closed fixed non gunpod holding hands for those boxing matches with pipe wielding Zentraedi.

some good ideas, but have to reject them for one reason or another.

2 x closed-fist DYRL hands that can fold in the arms AND hold a gunpod

-the arm space to fit the hand is very slim. in order to fit that in there, the hand woul have to be equally slim giving it an awkward look.

2 x posed DYRL hands with trigger finger extended (left and right)

-while I made the right one with some ease, a left one would be inconceivable by me at this point. I didn't scuplt this out of scratch like those crazy ppl from Hobby Japan. the right hand was made from the recast TV hand so all I had to do was shave, add, shave, add.

2 x posed DYRL open-hand (left and right)

-this is definitely doable, but reason why I suggested the poseable hands is because I don't want all my valks to have the same stupid posed hand. the poseable hand would relieve all problems of this...if I can do it right.

the poseable hands SHOULD be able to accomadate the fist you speak of. but we really won't know until I get started...or rather finish.

  5. Well actually the Dyrl hands provided with the toy can hardly hold the damn gunpod...

And my valks cant give the finger.... like my PGs.

Maybe you can do it in the same way the PG gundams, just add a peg that inserts into the Gunpod handle.  It is a super easy job.

    I prefer poseable...

In fact If you sell both, poseable and NOT poseable, I will get them both-

Will you finish this time Danny?

    My regards to your millia!

ah, i get yah...like how the arms have those pegs to hold the gunpod in fighter mode. hmm, that might be doable...but I'm afraid the resin peg will break off if it's too small, and if it's too big...it'll just be ugly. won't be able to make it retractable like the PG gundams(too much work :p ).

will have to think more about that.

and which millia are you talking about? you have to be just a little bit more specific...shhh...

  6. so I can say, what the price  we accept, that's what the price we get.

If one day ,we accept a 1/48 Vf-1 selling at 49800 yen, than yamato will

really going for that price, because we tell yamato "that's worth it".

This is exactly why some U.S. MWers "beat the dead horse" about the high price of the Q-Rau. Personally, I defend my postion that it is overpriced repeatedly because I hope that some others will be influenced to send a message to Yamato that "Fair is fair, but the price of the Q-Rau is ridiculous" I am NOT saying that I won't be happy until I can get a 1:24 all-diecastmetal perfect transformation remote controlled flying Yamato VF-xx with super articulated pilot controlled by A.I. from wal-mart for $2, and I am certainly not bitching for bitching's sake. Until now, I've always felt that Yamato's toys have been worth every penny (MAYBE the fast packs were a bit too high for what they were, but I still got three).

My criticism is that the value of the toy is much less than the price. Two possible solutions:

1.) raise the value Address fans negative issues with the toy itself (impossible, MWers can't even agree on what is good about an existing toy, much less suggest how to create a good toy. Plus, the toy is already out there, it is what it is... )

2.) lower the price If we all keep being Yamatowhores, Yamato will make us their bitches. the HK market obviously knows what's up! Yamato knows that they won't pay unfair high prices just because that's what's printed on the box so they don't overcharge. I'm sure MY reaction to this toy would've been as positive as Graham's had I gotten it for that price.)

I believe this is a valid critique with a viable solution. And when this post garners all sorts of negative reactions, I will respond. For everyone who says "You can say what you want only ONCE" i say "it depends on the purpose of the post" I can't get the price lowered by myself... I hope to influence others. If we as a large group send a message to Yamato that we won't pay whatever they feel like asking, maybe we can KEEP costs around reasonable levels. The PLETHORA of (also repetitive) posts I've seen from other MWers telling Q-rau's detractors where they can stick their opinions, and acting personally insulted that someone might have suggested that they think before they do something with their own money. Only serve only to influence others in the opposite direction: Drive the prices up, up, UP! Someone's telling me what I can and can't spend MY OWN MONEY on?!?!?!?! I'll show them! I'll buy a million Q-raus at whatever price Yamato asks! HA HA HAHAHAHAHA! I gave ALL my money to Yamato because it was MINE to give! (of course, now you have to give ALL of your money to Yamato if you want to own ONE of the toys they make.)

500,000,000 posts beat a dead horse into my court, I beat it back.

word! I can't agree more. and as we can see from the voting....I wasn't alone. very well put DrClay. I no as good in words like you be. :D well, for the most part anyway.

  7. I'd rather have a DYRL hand that could hold the gun to be honest.

it's the LEFT hand hes talking about, except for the skeleton hands out now, NO yammies' left hands have been able to hold a gun!

well, actually, after the left, i would probably make a right...but I was talking about the right one not being able to hold it well because of looseness.

and the 1/48 can hold the gun in the left hand...just not very well like the right hand.

  8. There will always be multiple views on collecting. If you work at toy company, the best defination is that premium toys (high price, high quality) are aimed at collectors while mass market is for everyone else and perhaps a cheapo line for little tikes.

I talked to toy dealers and even they agree that certain toys are "expensive" when compared to other toys. Its part of the culture in toy collecting to compare toys in its price points and target market. With advances that you see increasing quality, articulation, better engineering, production and most importantly, competition, you can't help it. Hard core collector or not. Toy collecting is a passion that doesn't have fixed monentary requirements to be part of the club. Kakikazi summed it up the best:

at the end, as I know,  the "real collector" always a smart man for bargain~!

Amen to that my toy collecting brother.

has yamato ever thought about the toy collector? toy collectors(such as myself) are crazy. we buy every variant, every scheme, everything cool and most likely in multiples. ranging from diecast to figures to valks. would I have bought multiples of the Q-rau if it was moderately priced...as would many of us on MW. how smart was it for yamato to charge what they charge not knowing or maybe knowing this? either way, it's pretty stupid if you ask me.

demand(for macross stuff) not so good + high prices = don't expect anymore enemy mechs due to poor sales

and as far as the 1/60 monster goes...who the hell are they marketing THAT to?? how many huge ass japanese homes have you been in in japan? that thing will be the size of their living room. good luck selling that instead of a nice sized SDF-1. and yah, if price is like $300(but doubtful now that I've seen the q-raus price) I'm definitely getting 1....or 2. 1 to keep my dog company in the yard. :p

  9. Can't hold a gun??? What's it gonna do? scratch it's balls???

    :lol::lol::lol:

lol, well, if it can't hold THE gun, doubt it'll be able to scratch either.

the reason I say it probably won't be able to hold the gun is because I'm afraid of the looseness. the way I designed it might be good enough to hold a pose ie, pointing, fists, or flipping off...but might not be sturdy enough to hold the weight of the gun.

  10. ok, not to bring this thread up again, but I wanted to know if people would be interested in a POSEABLE left hand. I was in Vegas this weekend and had some time to draw some things up and it seems very doable(I know you're thinking, "You were in Vegas and all you can think of was your stupid custom hand???" Well, I was there for a expo and had to wake up early everyday, didn't wanna have to deal with a hangover or worse).

This might take a while and will probably lead to a poseable right hand. but these hands will probably NOT be able to hold the gun. If it all works out...we should have this in 2 weeks, though it looks like I'll be making a trip out to Boston soon.

anyway, lets hear a nay or yay for this please. thanks.

  11. I don't like the fists much myself, and like cdr fokker said, there's not much use for them. so yah, I think I'm going to stay away from the fists.

and no, these won't fit inside the arms. they are meant to be removed as they are fairly wide and I think in much better proportion than the stock dyrl hands.

thanks again for all the comments.

  12. Whoah! For the left hand, what kind of pose are you making it in? Close fist? Spread out hand?

it's probably going to be the same pose as the TV hands.

or what I can try to do is make it so it's gripping around the gunpod more? or I can make both.

I can also try to make fists...but each will probably take 1-2 weeks...I didn't see a need for fists.

any other suggestions welcome before I get started.
