But i gotta say it, how about they give us a little SDF Macross reboot some love? I dont need one every few years.. just one good one will do

Hey Guys, with regret I post up one of my favorites for sale.

Max TV version 1/48

Only available via the mail in coupon in japan years back.

So, she has been transformed CAREFULLY just once. Stickers, manual and all accessories have never been removed from the box.

The valk is almost perfect, everything is TIGHT and it has been kept in the box in my closet.

For full disclosure, on the rear left leg there is a minor vertical scratch that came with the valk from the factory. I have taken a picture of this area. Its very faint, and didn't go through the paint but it's there.

The box i would rate it as average, it has some blemishes but nothing major, see pics.

I am looking for $290 + shipping anywhere in the world.

If he is an original and he's MINTY, door works, no chrome wear or scratches it $50-80

NO re-release is the same as the original, parts of the original mold were lost/damaged - namely the buttons on the front. For me those make a big difference.

If hes missing the gun, pick that up cheap on ebay with the missiles.. the tapes IMHO are not that important.. but could add to the value if you can get buzzsaw complete.

Does it really matter how much a person posts? I would much rather see "hey thats great" one liners, that are positive than negative bullcrap such as this.

I had a pioneer component system I got mid 86 that lasted me until the late 90's. I moved so much it was a pain lugging it all around so ened up selling it. Your setup brings back memories and many components look to be maybe a year or so newer than mine. I did have that same smaller remote that controlled it all, wish I still had the system. Very cool

Reading through this thread after grahams post on a possible TV version is SHOCKING. I really can't believe their are some here that would accept a bastardized, half ass version of the TV SDF-1. We pour over tiny little details and shapes of the valks, endless debates, but when it comes down the the big dog, the mofo that IS THE MACROSS.. we are willing to accept a NOT EVEN CLOSE to being right version?! Did I just come back to BIZARRO MACROSS WORLD?!

We have a chance to get a new sculpt, SAY YES. Even if you cant afford it right now or anyway time soon, you may down the road.. we still collect Macross toys that were only made 20+ years ago. YOU WILL AT LEAST HAVE THE OPTION IF IT'S MADE!

I strongly dislike the DRYL version, it's just got F'd up proportions and needless greeblies hanging off of it. I absolutely will not be buying the DRYL version but would easily but two TV versions if it was done the right way!

A large TV version SDF-1 is my grail macross toy, hope we see one. The difference between TV vs movie versions are big, a repaint and just slapping the D and P on the arms aint gonna cut it.

A remake, but same designs, characters and story, almost shot for shot, with all hand drawn animation done by the best, setting a new WOW standard for animation quality.

I would be ok with a few addition scenes here and there that just were not possible back in the day for what ever reason.

The Refit (TMP version) is my favorite ship of all time and I am obsessed with having a perfect TMP version of it.

Its quite possibly the most complex and beautiful paint job ever put onto a model, the amount of time and effort that went into the details such as the the aztec paneling are insane.

I have the bandai and yeah its colors are super bright compared to the actual model.

Here is 2 of the best shots of the ship taken, in color, that's currently available, from when the motion picture was in production.

The TMP version of the ship had the secondary hull/strongback areas painted a greyish/seafoam green, then was repainted by ILM (LAME) for star trek 2 with a major loss of detail and with the now familar light blue secondary hull details.

I currently have a large scale refit being built on commission with a "no expense spared" approach in full TMP mode. Full lighting and multi color pearl aztecing!

Here is a taste, notice aztecing paneling on the saucer, you cant see it but the entire ship is covered in multiple colored panels like this. You can only see the paneling at certain angles and lighting, otherwise the ship just looks the standard white

I agree as well, accept it on behalf of MW community at large for the purpose of fund raising for the upkeep of this site (Thanks Shawn for paying the bills... I believe this is still the case right?) , so that this site can continue to THE premier English site for all things Macross. At the same time, maybe they can some kind of statement along with it to acknowledge the existence and support of overseas fans or something like that.

Sounds like a good idea for a PR move.

Of course, thank you Graham for getting the information for us, and please pass our thanks to Yamato for sharing the background story as well. Now we know there is good reason for this, though it is really a shame that this won't be mass produced.
