Basara is not an ace pilot, he's a performer. Actually I dismissed Basara from the top aces in Macross universe, with 0 plane/mecha being shot down by him. Even Hibiki from Macross II manage to score a kill inside that Zentran ship and he's a reporter with valid valkyrie license
.But I admit that Basara is a freak since he can do some stunts with one of Rex's gang bike.
Being a performer doesn't dismiss Basara as an Ace any more than being drunk would dismiss Roy.
hay hay hay dont be messing with my boy roy, and he is a classy drinker. - you cant got to war and be scared of alcohol. alcohol is roys pain for the the tall of war it has taken on his past kinda like a war scare or PDSD ,and an ace is a military pilot who takes down more than 5 enemy planes, basara is not part of the military, he did not kill 5 enemy vf.

It shoulda' been a fight, not a quick "Okay let's get the dying over with" scene. But, don't get me wrong, I still love DYRL. Always will. I'm just anti-roy's-death-scene.
Max says Basara is on his skill level?! I guess I need to finish the series... I'll work on it after I'm done with finals next week. I'm at the part where Basara is out in the desert wandering around playing his guitar and Mylene goes after him. The Syvil-obsessed weirdo ends up getting his azz kicked, and I don't remember anything after that so I think that's where I left off.
I still think Isamu could whoop Basara. Except in hand to hand combat. Isamu's fight with Guld didn't impress me, but I think he did a great job for a guy recovering from severe injuries. I'm not sure how alike the two are, aside from searching to fulfill some part of themselves: Basara likes music, Isamu likes flying. They both get the babes obviously...
Okay now I'm wondering if Guld and Isamu are better pilots than Max??? It's a possibility, I think.
Isamu and guld will always be better pilots than max its just how it is I cant even imagine max compareing with gulds yf-21 guld is in a way is the yf-21 he defeated a machine that surpassed humans in every way, He cerated the yf-21 and his zentradi
background gives him more strength. I can even start with isamu I would spend hours just telling you. Isamu and guld are rivals they are equals they couldnt defeat each other. They are in my eyes true aces a hot head and a cold hearted pilot like water and fire .
As for roy in dyrl I will agree it kinda suckd but he sacerficed his life to save everyone and HE IS NOT A HERO BUT A LEGEND SAME CAN BE SAID FOR GULD.
Its those move scenes where the tough hero has to go beyond the line of duty and do the moral and right thing.

Sorry guys but roy will always be the better man and better pilot, You see roy can land more girls than max and roy didnt marry the first chick that he dated that didnt know anything about the dateing life style.
As a pilot roy was the first and the original if you saw mac0 you would know what I am talking about, roy cared about his wingman and kept his formation and squad together thus geting the legendary squll squadron and where do you think max and hikaru learned. And for my final statement roy got killed by the miltrans because he had a nasty hang over and he was drunk I like to see max take a sip of beer and keep his plane straight.

Alright guys I need your help to convince -EXO- to go to SDCC. I've tried offering to be his Biotch, buy his food, offer a gbp, and 1 night with my Girlfriend but she doesn't know that hahaha. Macross Plus: 1 OVA series (4 eps.), 1 movie
Macross Zero: 1 OVA series (5 eps.)
Macross 7: 1 TV series (49 eps.) + 3 bonus eps., 1 OVA series (4 eps.), 1 movie.
Makes me wonder how popular Macross 7 was (is?) in Japan - given that it has the most animation produced for any Macross series.
You kinda gota understand its not the quantity but the quality that counts, if shoji got all the money and funding he put threw mac7 and place it threw a differnt project you would get something like mac+ or Mac0. for example the 3d fx they used for M+ was some realy complicated stuff they came up with back in 94, also you have to remember the animation quality and the replayed action scenes they used was to save some labor and money.

I built the vinyl version a long time ago. I'd reccomend splitting the cockpit and fuselage parts and inserting a 2 to 3 mm thickness of styrene in there (smaller diameter) and then filling it in. Minimal sanding and loss of detail. The slightly longer nose would probably go un-noticed. That's what I which I had done. I had the same problem. - MT

) but it would still probably be worth cutting it apart. I'll post again with those results.hay , im planing to start the same exact kit, al be watching this post for sure. Maybe we can work together.

Valkyrie has it right on. I was looking at the basic shape and thinkin' "lathe" before reading Valk's post. If you don't have access to a lathe (or drill press in a pinch), You have two choices. 1) Cut out the parts in and fill them in with lightweight filler. 2) Carve the body out of wood and seal it to take away the grain texture. (I gotta get me a lathe).
Make the clear parts out of vacuformed plastic -or- heat up the plastic and push your "male" part through it. Hope that helps. - MT
ok. ok.. some of this stuff is a little confuseing what exactly is 3-D styrene, and where do I buy it.
and what kind of filler do I use, and what about molds. -
