3) I might be naive, but this has been referred to as "first limited edition" which I think was similar to Hikaru's J model that also came with a stand.  I'm not as familiar with Bandai's shenanigans as a lot of folks here, but I'd bet dollars to donuts these will be re-released in some way at some point.  

4) I never did see them available at Okini Land, at least not between 2 and 3AM CDT early this morning and not anytime since then that I've checked...we might yet be surprised

Hey guys! Sorry to hear all the problems people are having with the clear tips. I have sent numerous emails to our manufacturer referencing this thread and all they keep saying is that they are not finding the same issues as those being reported here.

Clearly this is no longer an isolated incident. Since we are unable to know if the issue is a product defect or the reaction of the tip to certain paints, we are going to take action and advise against long-term display with the tips.

This has been disappointing since we changed the black tips to clear to avoid the slight black markings. Please address concerns to me at carlos@flightpose.com.

FYI still have not heard back from manufacturer, will try to get an official answer by next week.

Our manufacturer is looking into it. They looked at the samples they have and did not see any problems but I did direct them to the comments in this thread. I should hear back from them next week.

FYI if you guys ever need replacements parts contact me through the FlightPose site (send us a comment or email me directly at carlos@flightpose.com). We hardly do it but when asked we have always sent out replacement parts for defective bases or cracked cover plates at no charge.

The details about the thread have just been brought to my attention. This is the first I have heard about the clear tips affecting the painted surface. I will contact the manufacturer to see if there is a remedy (someone suggested washing the tips in warm soapy water).

Fellas! I am in the process of creating a new online shop dedicated only to the FlexiDisplay. We are about 6 weeks from launch and one of the features we are looking to implement is a 'customer photo' submission link where fans can send us pics. Once approved by us, photos will be uploaded to a gallery for all to see.

Looks like my issues with the flexidisplay v2 is confirmed by Carlos himself, judging from his email:

Sorry for the error guys! I can't believe this happened.

If you damaged your stand in any way please let me know at carlos@laftoys.com. We will be contacting all customers individually to let them know that replacement screws are on the way.

I think most people that ordered the new stands are either from Macrossworld or Rebelscum. Either way it has been brought to my attention that the screws packaged with the new v2 stands are not the correct size. We are working with the manufactuer right now to find out what happened. For now, we ask that if you received your stands that you wait for replacement screws to be sent out later this week before assembling the stand. I opened one of the 4" stands today and the screws were impossible to use. However once I used the screws from the final test sample, the cover plate went down easily and the rods were resistant to movement.

Sorry for all the problems lately guys! Since the end of the summer my responsibilities have practically doubled. This is probably the 1st time to log in and visit MW in about 2 months! Between training and starting a new job, overseeing the development of the new FlexiDisplays and spending time with my newborn son, the timeliness of the LAFtoys.com has suffered greatly. Throw in the unannounced changes made by our web host/server provider, the occasional hiccup in service has become a regular thing. Believe me when I say that I am not happy with our current level of service and we are taking all criticisms seriously.

For those worried about incoming pre-orders (like the 1/60 Super VF-1J), we will be processing them this week. We are hesitant in listing new pre-orders for upcoming Macross products because we might be switching to a new online storefront before the end of the year. More news on this to follow shortly.

It seems like I haven't been here in ages! The last 6 weeks have been extremely busy. On top of getting a new job, we have been getting ready for the holiday season and the new FlexiDisplays will be here soon. I apologize to anyone here who has had to put up with recent delays in shipping/processing orders. Anyway here is an official preview of the new FlexiDisplay v2.
