This thing is still horrid. I KNOW it's my only choice to have a Unicron, but, I think I'll pass unless I find one cheap enough to repaint it.

Just for my info, what improvements over the original 1A (beyond the head...) are included with this?

Aaaaargh! You guys won't believe this! My wall clock fell down on my desk and knocked my 1/48 Hikaru off the table! He landed face first in Battroid mode and the heat shield is broken!

If I had a digital camera I'd show you. Describing the damage as best I can, only the two little tabs on the sides that hook the heat shield to the main body have both broken off. I can't find them anywhere, if I did I'd do a shifty superglue job on it, but i can't. Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix it? (it's a big ask i know)

I know how that goes. I lost my 1/48's heat shield to a wrought iron DVD rack, though....

-sigh- Well, sign me up for three suits of FP armor...

I'm really fighting with this one, too. I WANT a VF-1S Hikaru, but at the same time, I OWN a 1A. I don't see the point in dropping 140+ for yet another Hikaru valk when I already have one. However, I am considering getting a 1J.

It doesn't look bad. I could certainly use some of its parts to repair a few of my Bandai valks...

I remember getting my VF-19A in the mail about a year or so ago. I yanked that thing out of the boss, defeated by the little (#@R% twist ties...

...thirty minutes later, I started transforming the thing incessently...

I'd buy it. I passed on the 1/60 due to its questionable quality, but from what I hear, they've all but perfected the 1/48 line.

I have MONEY now.. will preorder.. yes...
