Very nice! It does look very clean like it was airbrushed. Did you use Gundam markers for the details?
-
Wow! Maybe you should just make a cutout section of the cockpit and display it so you do't cover every detail up.
-
That sounds good but the logistics of acquiring the models and shipping them out would be a PIA. It would be easier to designate a model that was recently released to "even the playing field". Just my thoughts...
-
I'm sure many of us are patiently waiting. Take your time.

toys..... Those are for those who dont have the testicular fortitude to build models.
Translation: Those without "balls"
-
You sure have alot of time on your hands or a heck of a lot of patience
-
That is a monster!
I would be baffled as to where I can keep a 1/72 without it getting in the way of things...like walking.
-
Wow...don't sneeze! How the heck did you carve that? How are you even going to see that inside the cockpit?
-
Thanks for the headsup.
Is there a source other than ebay of the Perfect Edition? Has there ever been planned a English-dubbed version?
-
Very Nice...it makes me want to pick up a 1/48 GBP to just customize...after I get my first toy(VF-0S) though!
-
As I was saying! Please post pics on your progress. I would love to see a VF-0S Gerwalk... or even a VF-D. Now that would be something!

Thanks for the comments guys!
The weathering is still much better on WMCHENG's Valk. I played with his excellents examples and techniques. I have still more to learn and improve upon.
As for the Ghost, the only panels done different from the rest of them was the 5 sensor panels on the nose. The Ghost was painted Tamiya Nato black for the slightly matt grey look. The panels were done flat back. Testors Acryl semi-gloss was applyed then it was lighty dulled further with Acryl matt.
If you're wondering why the exhaust pieces are missing, I'm still waiting on my Alclad order.

A contest sounds cool. It'll bring out the talents of the forum members including the quiet ones. Besides, it'll be fun to just see the models!
-
Is this any different from the Perfect Edition? I need to pickup a copy as well.
Thanks!

Sorry, the wrong ling was posted on my first post. It's fixed now.

You're probably right on the primer because it's sticking well almost as well as the rubber bands holding the armor on
-
How durable is the finish seeing that you didn't prep the surface or using any primer? Does it scratch easily?
-
Looking at this, one might assume, you could do this to a VF-O as well. I'm sure someone is rushing to hack up the new VF-O battroid kit for a Gerwalk...
-
Some updates on the VF-0S and VF-0A w/ Ghost... Enjoy.
-
Amazing work on the weathering! Did you repaint the entire model and use waterslide decals?

"And again---having Edgar in the back seat is about as useful for Shin's piloting technique as a puppy in the back seat. "

Just looking at the Hasesgawa models, Shin's VF-0A(the one with the Ghost) looks pretty generic, like a cannon fodder. The graphic is minimal and color is generic 2-tone sea grey. I think it was just a replacement pane they had around...a spare. Also figuring he was paired up originally w/ a copilot(avionics), they put him in a 2 seater, hence the VF-0D.
Just my 2 cents...

Sar,
Great tip! I'll have to try that w/ some of the paper I picked up 800 and 1000 grit. Thanks!
-
I second that! VF-0D all the way!
The delta wind adds more variance to the typical design. More European styling and besides the large wings make the plane look imposing!

Nice! How did you mount the rods in the rear? Can you post pics?
