  1. Just wondering has anybody picked up the Takara 1/18 scale Scopedog toy that was released late last month and if so, how does it compare with the Yamato 1/12 scale version?

Although I haven't handled the Takara version yet and it sold out pretty quickly at shops here in Hong Kong, from what I can tell it has the advantages over Yamato of having a cheaper price point, comes with a Chirico Cuvie microman pilot figure and has a weathered paint job.

I hate to say it, but I give this round to Takara. I hate Takara, I think they're inferior compared to Yamato, Kaiyodo, and Bandai but whoever did this for Takara did it right. It's like the sturdiness of most Takara toys, with the details at a Yamato level. Just check one out in person, get your hands on it and you'll see what I mean.

  2. You asked for it!

You can't go off on abusive, name-calling, tirades and threaten physical harm to those with whom you disagree without some repercussion! ;)

Thanks! My wife said something very similar to me today. In all fairness, maybe I did go on a bit of a verbal rampage but this was no mere disagreement. The way I take care of my family was under attack, as well as my work ethic. Everyone has there right to their opinions, and I respect that. But when it gets nasty like that discussion was, I felt I had the right. Anyway, I actually like new title. It's better than "Spongebob's life partner". ;) However, in a sick deeply disturbed sense I wonder how that is anatomically possible, and begs the question: Who's on top?

  3. Dalong.net has a few scans. He'll probably have more later.

    http://www.dalong.net/review/mg/m95/m95_i.htm

From the looks of it, it doesn't appear to have any changes made to it since F91. So it's just a recolor version with no stand. Kinda like Titans-color Mk. II version 2.

Well technically the Titans version had the waist mod that the AEUG didn't. Sorry, just being a smartass :p . Anyhow, I normally don't go for repaints but man...I'm liking this even though I have the F91 already. Dammit! The only other repaints I have are:

    RX-78-4 and 5

    Fazz Sentinel

    Mk.II both versions

Char's Zaku and two green Zaku's.

Sigh, well call me a sucker I'm gonna buy it or I know I'll just regret it...Damn I'm a bandai whore.

  4. I'll agree on the clippers. I grabbed a pair of Baby Nippers from Yodobashi Camera a couple weeks ago and they're much nicer to use than the old wire cutters I had been using. Any kind of clipper is better than the X-Acto knife I used to cut parts off the sprue with. I managed to stab myself with that far more times than I can comfortably admit. It's much easier to build a kit without bandaids on your fingertips...

We've all been there before...I actually have a huge scar on my thumb from my 1/60 Strike Gundam.

  5. I wish it was true...sigh........but realistically, I can see since Transformers are getting a live action movie maybe some other Anime's will. But no way Evangelion (as much as I love it) would be made before:

Gundam, the most popular next to TF's probably

    Dragonball Z

    Voltron

    RT/Macross

    Vampire Hunter D

    Trigun

Basically the most US friendly anime's will likely get the Live action Treatment

  6. her name is...Keeley Hazell

well just to sort of get back on topic...there's just so many MG and even beautiful 1/144 HG and HGUC kits out there it's really hard to decide what to buy...if I had the money, I would easily spend $2K in the kits I want...getting around to building them is a different story...I still have a couple kits from the whole amazon super sale on gundam kits from last year...I have yet to build 'em...It took me 6 months bo build a model kit of the Hazel kai that I bought almost a year ago also...It took me almost a whole 12 hour shift to complete the Hazel kai (and that's in between calls...I'm a phone operator)...Do you think I should invest into some good sprue cutters to make my life easier or does the good ol' cudicle cutter and x-acto knife good enough?

I just picked up a really nice pair from Hobby Lobby for 8.99. The way the blades are curved I can get right next to the part, and have hardly anything to shave and sand off. I highly recommend them!

  7. The real thing is, aside from removable armors, what advantage would a PG 1/48th scale Valkyrie have over a Yammie 1/48?

BTW, been here two days, and already I hate Graham....

First of all, it would be a model, as opposed to the toy. Other than the standard PG gimmicks (vents all over, LED's, etc.) it would have MAD articulation beyond anything Yamato can concieve.

  8. You know, when I first saw the pics of the bots and the toy pics I kind of liked them. I thought they had potential. Even the mutilated version of Starscream, my favorite character. Now I'm disappointed in their appearance, because they all look the same to an extent. That wierd, insect like face and kibble everywhere. I thought maybe it would be a good look for the decepticons, but not the autobots. Every bot other than Prime looks kind of sinister. I just wish there was more diversity in their looks. On the other hand, I really like Ratchet's body style. If they changed the head I'd be impressed.

  9. Well um gee Agent One's post is over a year old and he has been been. Kinda silly responding to it now. He can't respond back. On the other hand I being someone who works in a union can. From my personal experience that well it only is good for those who got it at the start. Glad you can make 20 bucks an hour. I sure loved reading my union manuals and seeing how the new and adjusted pay scales sorta screw out the new people of the same pay. Well I could still get the same pay in theory it just takes longer for me to reach that point. I also like the change in health insurance. Those hired after a certain date like me had to wait twice as long to get it then those before. Even at that point it a bad health plan. I've reached the point where I can upgrade my insurance. Funny thing if I had no job I could have gotten better insurance through the state. I wish I knew what the union got in exchange. As union board member I'm sure you're at a point where in a union actual gives you something. Not all the unions are as great as yours some are pretty self center were old guard have no problems selling out the next generation as they get to keep theirs. For the new generation in my union the difference between being in a union and the basic the fed forces all businesses to give workers is very thin.

Yeah senior union members are very pro-union but for the rest it's not always so sunny.

Now don't respond to this post for another year.

    Back to the subject.

UPS they got some on sexy short shorts. A girl who was a part time package handler tired to recruit me to work their once. I got legs and I know how to use them but I don't want to be a sex object all of the time.

I never noticed Agent One's post until now. The point is that while Unions are big, not all the locals are bad. My local is a good one. It offers education, and the local President of our local is genuine in his persuit of a better life for his fellow members. Here's a quick story: 4 and half years ago, I was brought in as a 3 month temp making 11.80 an hour. I busted my ass in a peon position, and got hired on full time. Then, I was offered the chance to study with the Setup Technicians and MIG welders for a year, and now I make 23.47 an hour working in the R and D lab with the engineers. And I can thank my union, more directly the guys who took a peon under their wings and taught him everything they know. THAT is what unions are really about.

On the other note: I've never had a shipping problem with USPS. But then, I live in a town with 3000 people, so all the mail personnel are friendly. UPS did take a week and a half once to get me a Gundam kit I bought from an online store. But that's about the only problem I've had.

    phoenix01 had some great comments.

Back in the day unions protected exploited workers, now THEY exploit workers by creating a loby for their cause which usually cripples or totally destroys the company that employs the union employees. The idea always works for shortsighted people who think of themselves without thinking of the consequences of their actions. My favorite union story is where the employees (union) of United Airlines decided to purchase the company at managements request, as management wrongfully thought the employees were smart enough to take value in owning part of the business... They were wrong. The dumbass employees paid themselves so much the company had to file for bankruptcy and they lost their stock and their pensions. Haw Haw! Those retards got exactly what they deserved.

Often unions make demands that shut companies down, then the employees sit around and wonder what happened. Unions are the cancer on US business.

Now you let me tell all of you devoid people bashing Unions something. What the hell do you know? You sit here bashing on it, based on a few horror stories and some media brainwashing. I happen to be a machinist at a major aerospace/ heavy equipment supplier, and a union board member with the UAW. The union protects us and enables skilled workers like myself and others that we make 20 dollars and hour, instead of ten. It prevents us from being taken advantage of by corporate boards wanting to send my job off to China or Mexico. All I can see is that the people here have no clue what they're talking about. Someone said that "the union protects lazy workers"?! Well I absolutely f***ing dare you to come on out to where I'm at and say that to my face. I bust my ass and I've sweat and bled, literally, for my company and my union. And so have a lot of us there. Your opinions mean nothing when you sit on your ass behind a PC in your little cubicles and offices. Without me and my co-workers, your landing gear would snap off the minute your plane hit the ground. Hell, your pilots couldn't even fly the plane, because they'd have no instruments and gauges. The union is what keeps my family taken care of. I'm proud to be a part of the largest union in the US, and if you have a problem with that then like I said, come see me and we'll straighten it out. One thing I will not tolerate is people berating the lives of hardworking people who got together and decided they deserve more. And since I'm pretty sure the ones saying unions are a cancer have no clue what it's like to be on the shop floor on a daily basis, you can just shut your worthless, lazy, uninformed, and constant crap- spewing mouths. Morons...
