    What the heck. For a while there I was pretty excited about a great new 1/100 toy line coming out, spiffing-up people's office desks everywhere. Now what is it, dead in the water? Did toynami have a hard time deciding whether or not to market the 1J's as Macross rather than Robotech? Did they realize they're spending way too much money on fancy boxes? What's the deal here...

    Here you go. It is a former F-14 squadron...the first actually VF-1

    just scroll down to the second image to see what Tomcat originally looked like with the High vis markings. Not sure why they used the Ferris markings that VF-1 used briefly as the first image.

    Just do google search on VF-1 Wolfpack. lots of images, it's always been my favorite squadron. Most people here seem to like the Jolly Rodgers, for obvious reasons though. :p

    1/60 VF0A decal placement

    I just got my 1/60 VF Zero, and it's great. But where do those funky red stickers go, that aren't in the instruction booklet? They've got like, wolf heads on them. They look really cool too --- I wanna' stick'em on mine. Unfortunately, I have no idea whre to put them. If someone knows the answer to this question, please fill me in! Thanks.

    This is the most depressing thread ever. Well Dev, at least you'll still be around to help with advice! You've helped me out more than I can say. I'm glad I was able to buy some sets off you before you stopped making them! I knew it was a good move to get those extras. Good luck with the PHD! Hopefully someone - seriously - can pick up where you are leaving off. It will suck without quality decals from here on out. (What the heck happened to takatoys?)

    Allright...here's a work in progress of a 1/100 low-vis paint scheme. I'm still working on it and need to apply the stickers, it's 95% complete.

    I had a similar thought. I was thinking it would be neat to see someone customize a few of these into the various Yamato non-cannon 1/48's (i.e. low viz 1, low viz 2, and stealth). I have no customizing skills, but I'd like to see someone else do it.

    We heard about wave 1 and 2 so long ago, but now that wave 1 is out and wave 2 should be out any day now, it's weird that we've heard nothing about any future waves. I'm getting worried that these didn't do well and the line may get dropped. I hope not.

    I'm wondering what's going on as well. I pre-ordered a set of VF1Js and they should have shipped in September. ? And heck, if they end up getting sold off for cheap, great news.

    PS: I also wrote toynami about the crappy stands, and they said they'd send me replacement parts... which I'm still waiting for. It's been about two months.

    I'm 27. I wonder how old I'll be when Yamato stops making Macross altogether? Man, my collection could really pile up over the years. Taking that into account... I think I may end up with quite a few 1D's. That's great. But for the short term, I have no patience.

    As long as they're not going off a mile a minute about who plays for what team for what sport for how long and for what reasons, then they're fine with me. Man, I have a cousin-in-law who's having a baby boy in a couple months, and no joke, he's going to name him Espn, pronounced "Espin." The two of us really don't have a whole lot to say to each other. But I think he's a nice guy despite the fact.

    Yeah... but what sucks, is that what if the PS3 Macross game only get released in Japan? How will we play that on our American systems? I won't want to modify a frickin', 600 dollar system. Hell no.

    Trust me. Most sports fans thinks those guys are idiots. Same with the dolts that hold up D-tttt(Defense) signs. It's a D with a fence.. duh ya stupid I know.

    I can't stand cosplayers personally. Never seen a good one in all the years of going to anime or sci-fi conventions. You wanna do it, fine. I reserve the right to make fun of you. The worst non-anime cosplayers I've seen were two guys dressed as Xena and Gabrielle :wacko:

    I'm not condoning cosplaying. I'm not saying I'd do it on any other day than Halloween (and only then if I had the money to make a badass costume.) I've never been to any sort of convention before, so I've never seen cosplayers in real life - I've only viewed them on pictures on the web. I'm making the assertion that cosplayers are probably a whole lot less disruptive, loud, ridiculous, obsessed, and passionate about what they do than your average sports-junky. I'm guessing there are equal proportions of fat people on each side of the spectrum. But food and hot dog chunks probably fly out of the mouth of more screaming sports fatties then cosplay fatties.

    Edit: I'd also like to say, that because I've never actually beheld a cosplayer in real life, that automatically makes the sports junkies 150% more annoying and irritating.

    They don't look like they do on a 60" 16:9. :p Even the PS2 supported widescreen, so it's a good bet the PS3 is optimized for it, as is the 360.

    What model is this 4:3 HDTV? I've never heard of such an odd duck... :ph34r:

    Anyway, I have an Xbox, and a Sony PS2. And I literally own two games for my xbox (one of which they made for PS2), and about 15 for my Ps2. Xbox never had any games that were exclusive and managed to catch my attention. I imagine this will be the same for the PS3. Xbox 360 has been out for what, a year almost now? I haven't seen one game that's caused me to wish I had the 360. But, games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, and FFxIII have got me drooling already. I used to think Xbox was superior to the ps2, and by hardware standards it probably is, but the games didn't impress. If history repeats itself, the playstation 3 library will have better games. I think the price sucks, but hey. If the PS3 keeps me busy for the next 6 years that's just fine. I just won't be able to buy anymore Yamato toys for a while. Tha's the only TRUE downside... <_<
