  1. Not to high jack the thread, but as far as old advertisements go, I seem to remember Yamato advertising the first YF-19 in Previews the comic shop ordering magazine. I remember putting in an order and my wife being upset at the expense, of course it never came in. Does anyone else remember that?

  2. I have been a member of Macross World for a long time, but I am just getting back into collecting valkyries. I fell in love with the Bandai Isamu YF-29 and ordered one from Nippon-Yasan, my first time directly ordering from Japan from someone other than HLJ. Now this may not be the best place for this, but I have a shipping question which kind of qualifies as a noobie question. I bought it at the end of December and the tracking number on Japan Post has said "Dispatch from outward office of exchange" since December 27th. The USPS site says, "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment". I paid for Air Mail Registered. No the question is, is this normal? I hope this works out as I had intended to order much more from them if this order works out. Like the YF-29 fast packs and the YF-30.

Thanks for the help and sorry if this is in the wrong location.

  3. How SF Fantasy is it? I never could get myself to read it because I don't really like mixed SF/Fantasy stories and the covers turned me off. I prefer my SF to be SF and Fantasy to be Fantasy. It's only because it's Weber I'm even considering reading this. I love his SF military/political books (Honor Harrington and the series he wrote with with White)and almost didn't read Armageddon Reef because of the setting.

The story is about two multi-universal civilizations. One of those groups of people is Magic-based and one is Science-based although they use Psionics. The magic-based folks use Dragons, Spells, and Swords and Crossbows. The Science-based use firearms and trains.

  4. Not sure if this belongs here, but it was great Science Fiction/Science Fantasy. I just finished reading the Hell's Gate series by David Weber and Linda Evans. I absolutely loved it. So far the series consists of two books, "Hell's Gate" and "Hell Hath No Fury". Although at the time I felt that "Hell's Gate" was about 400 - 600 pages to long, after reading "Hell Hath No Fury" I appreciated the character development in those pages that I originally thought were excess. This is one of the first books in a long while where I have felt an attachment to the characters and the plots surronding them. I am simply dying to read the next books, which unfortunately have not yet been published. I can't find any information to that regard as well. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of that info, or a fan site dedicated to this series.

  5. I respectfully disagree with the above. I am a huge fan of the 1/60 DX Frontier valks. I also have one of the 1/100's and am very fond of it also. I won't say that I prefer them to Yamato, that would be suicide here. Of the DX's I have the first edition VF-25F, a VF-25G, and the RVF-25. I understand Gerwalk is very floppy, but I don't like gerwalk on any valk, so that isn't an issue. I can get some pics if you would like. I am just saying they don't deserve the hate that they get. If you have any questions about them give me a yell.

  6. Alright, in battroid mode, the swing bar attached to the hip bar, is parallel to the back. When you pull on the back, the back will angle out, and the swing bar will be at an angle to the back, no longer parallel. At this point, swing both legs forward simultaneously, 90 degrees, and the nose hatch will pop open, and all you need to do is push up with the hip bar to get it out of the nose hatch. The key to this is making sure the swing bar is at an angle, if it is parallel, it is a pain in the ass to get the hip bar out of the nose hatch.

I also hate the new nose hatch. The above comment is greatly appreciated. However when transforming to battroid mode how do you get the hip bar to attach? I watched a couple youtube videos on how to transform, but I must say I had one heck of a time with this part of the transformation. In the end I think it took me about fifteen minutes and truthfully my VF-1J will never change modes again because of this aspect of the transformation. I really much prefer the way it is done on the 1/48's. But take that for what it's worth, since I never had a problem, and still don't, with the version one 1/60's.

  7. If he had that kind of power, he would be doing other things besides changing her mind about his toy collection. :p

That power would just beg for a trip to the Playboy Mansion. Obviouly with copies of episodes 1 - 6 on DVD, and plenty of good wholesome fun.

  8. I was upset when this didn't get a wide theatrical release, I really wanted to see it. Another film for the collection though.

It upset me that this film didn't see wide spread release also. I watched week after week for this to get released in the St. Louis. It finally got released at a really expensive movie theatre in downtown St. Louis. My wife was to pregnant to get dressed up to go, so I missed the movie. It broke my heart, I have been following this movie since it was first rumored to be made. Even through missed release date after missed release date.

Oh well, wild horses couldn't keep me from this DVD on the 19th.

  9. As good as this has been I can forgive the Duke/Scarlet shootout as simply being something to move the story forward. I have to admit that I didn't have a problem with it when I orginally watched it, as a matter of fact I thought "WOW, This is the Duke I always wanted as a kid."

I simply can't wait to get this on DVD and watch it start to finish uninterrupted.
