  1. Not to high jack the thread, but as far as old advertisements go, I seem to remember Yamato advertising the first YF-19 in Previews the comic shop ordering magazine. I remember putting in an order and my wife being upset at the expense, of course it never came in. Does anyone else remember that?
  2. Thanks, I knew it was Voltron but I didn't know what brand for anything. It kind of looked like a soul of chogokin. Either way it is a must have I think. Thank you for the info.
  3. I have been a member of Macross World for a long time, but I am just getting back into collecting valkyries. I fell in love with the Bandai Isamu YF-29 and ordered one from Nippon-Yasan, my first time directly ordering from Japan from someone other than HLJ. Now this may not be the best place for this, but I have a shipping question which kind of qualifies as a noobie question. I bought it at the end of December and the tracking number on Japan Post has said "Dispatch from outward office of exchange" since December 27th. The USPS site says, "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment". I paid for Air Mail Registered. No the question is, is this normal? I hope this works out as I had intended to order much more from them if this order works out. Like the YF-29 fast packs and the YF-30. Thanks for the help and sorry if this is in the wrong location.
  4. I really like this picture. I don't really know how to explain it my reaction to it other than, WOW.
  5. I have recently been getting back into this scene again. I managed to get a hold of Blue jumpsuit Hikaru, but I am most excited by the Sideshow Toys Asajj Ventress I just bought. I have a Sideshow Darth Maul That is a great figure. I have read reviews that the Asajj is awesome, does anyone else have any experience with these figures?
  6. Corrected Optimus Prime>Voltron>Gurren Lagann> Eva>Gundam>Valkyrie>Scopedog>Ingram> Code Geass Cannon Fodder>Dougbendo But seriously what kind of F-14 is that? It looks amazing with the Valk next to it.
  7. The story is about two multi-universal civilizations. One of those groups of people is Magic-based and one is Science-based although they use Psionics. The magic-based folks use Dragons, Spells, and Swords and Crossbows. The Science-based use firearms and trains.
  8. Not sure if this belongs here, but it was great Science Fiction/Science Fantasy. I just finished reading the Hell's Gate series by David Weber and Linda Evans. I absolutely loved it. So far the series consists of two books, "Hell's Gate" and "Hell Hath No Fury". Although at the time I felt that "Hell's Gate" was about 400 - 600 pages to long, after reading "Hell Hath No Fury" I appreciated the character development in those pages that I originally thought were excess. This is one of the first books in a long while where I have felt an attachment to the characters and the plots surronding them. I am simply dying to read the next books, which unfortunately have not yet been published. I can't find any information to that regard as well. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of that info, or a fan site dedicated to this series.
  9. I respectfully disagree with the above. I am a huge fan of the 1/60 DX Frontier valks. I also have one of the 1/100's and am very fond of it also. I won't say that I prefer them to Yamato, that would be suicide here. Of the DX's I have the first edition VF-25F, a VF-25G, and the RVF-25. I understand Gerwalk is very floppy, but I don't like gerwalk on any valk, so that isn't an issue. I can get some pics if you would like. I am just saying they don't deserve the hate that they get. If you have any questions about them give me a yell.
  10. I also hate the new nose hatch. The above comment is greatly appreciated. However when transforming to battroid mode how do you get the hip bar to attach? I watched a couple youtube videos on how to transform, but I must say I had one heck of a time with this part of the transformation. In the end I think it took me about fifteen minutes and truthfully my VF-1J will never change modes again because of this aspect of the transformation. I really much prefer the way it is done on the 1/48's. But take that for what it's worth, since I never had a problem, and still don't, with the version one 1/60's.
  11. That power would just beg for a trip to the Playboy Mansion. Obviouly with copies of episodes 1 - 6 on DVD, and plenty of good wholesome fun.
  12. It upset me that this film didn't see wide spread release also. I watched week after week for this to get released in the St. Louis. It finally got released at a really expensive movie theatre in downtown St. Louis. My wife was to pregnant to get dressed up to go, so I missed the movie. It broke my heart, I have been following this movie since it was first rumored to be made. Even through missed release date after missed release date. Oh well, wild horses couldn't keep me from this DVD on the 19th.
  13. If you are refering to that Hikaru VF-1s, then yes. I agree. What is the story with that one? Are those add-on decals or is it going to be released that way?
  14. This is as it should be. She is best with Duke, whoever heard of a hard-a$$ ninja guy who is all sulky and quiet like (regardless of why is quiet) with a girl friend??? Resolute is the best G.I.Joe cartoon ever.
  15. That is THE coolest Jar Jar EVER!!! Thanks for the pic.
  16. As good as this has been I can forgive the Duke/Scarlet shootout as simply being something to move the story forward. I have to admit that I didn't have a problem with it when I orginally watched it, as a matter of fact I thought "WOW, This is the Duke I always wanted as a kid." I simply can't wait to get this on DVD and watch it start to finish uninterrupted.
  17. WOW, I am definitely loving Resolute. Episode 8 was the best yet. I have no complaints about this show at all. Now I just want to find some of the Resolute figures besides Duke, Cobra Commander, and troopers.
  18. I hope these go the way of the 1/48 Angelbirds and Low Vis 2. Then I might pick one of the YF-19's up, I am still unsure about the YF-21. I was never a fan of this valk, and nothing about it or it's variants screams buy me. However I willing to wait and see. It wouldn't be the first time I changed my mind about a valk. Happened with the SV-51.
  19. Does anyone have any idea when the Scud figure is coming out? I am dying to have a Scud figure. Before I quit collecting comics, my local retailer gave me evry copy of Scud he came across. It sort of started as a joke, but hey I wasn't complaining. Also what are the details on the Tick figure? Have there been pics of the Tick released?
  20. I was trying to hold on on the Ozma until they released a full armor version, but darn doesn't that look amazing. I may have to pop for this instead of a VF-25G. Great pics.
  21. She does have hobbies of her own, she just doesn't indulge them often. Based on this I see your point and recognize it as been valid. I will begin checking into these things. As an update I proposed the idea of folding boxes and storing them she totally went for it and even authorized the purchase of a new Bandai DX valk. She also really likes the display cases some of the members have so I may even be able to get a new display case out of this whole thing. Currently I am using the entertainment center in our room and it doesn't get dusted anywhere near as often as it should. LOL Once again thanks to everyone for your suggestions and help.
  22. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I think I may take the accessories out of the boxes and then store the boxes folded as recomended. This would save me a lot of space and make room for new stuff, like a VF-25G, and allow me to keep so stuff in boxes safe in my closer. I wouldn't say I have a huge collection or medium sized even. I consider my collection small, and well represented. I have been collecting since Yamato advertised the VF-11B, if I remember correctly, in previews magazine. I will try and post some pics in the picture gallery thread later today. On a side note I understand about keeping the pimp hand strong, but part of keeping the pimp hand strong is knowing what battles can be won and which WILL be lost. Besides I keep my usage of storage space in the house to a minimum and she lets me keep my other more expensive hobby going. I have two Corvettes that I like to work on and gather parts for. LOL Sometimes more part gathering than working on.
  23. So a bit of background first, my wife just gave birth to my son a week and a half ago. So far she hasn't given me the get rid of some crap speech since I sold off my comic and model collections during pregnancy. But I have quite a few Valks a some rather large boxes taking up a rather large amount of room. I am sure these are next on her list of "expendable" things. So here is my request for advice, should I keep the boxes or get rid of them? if I got rid of them it would free up quite a bit of room and get her off my back. Thanks for your input.
  24. Can you take some pics of this? I am dying to see what a jedi Jar Jar looks like. Can't say I am a fan of Jar Jar but I was and still am a fan of TPM. I didn't htink it deserved the hate that it got.
