1. Very nice collection stuffparties.

And great case too! Is that thing air-tight?

    That OG Voltron is dope!

Are you getting the GBP armor soon?

Yeah I am still waiting for Kevin to ship it.

  2. Find any post by SITHLORD and click on his signature.  Now drool.

Otherwise there is a thread for 1/55 displays and a thread for all Yamato Displays.  Both of those have lots of pics of displays to rifle through.

  3. Thanks to kevin (of v-e) i received my voltron today. #3304 (did we do roll call yet?). not only was the display box mint, but it came sealed in a bag with styrofoam pieces surrounding it which was placed in a white box (with the 3304 marking) which in turn was placed in an OFFICIAL voltron/toynami carton. how much more rare can you get then that? :p (oddly the carton was numbered 1652 out of 2500..wonder what that means. the carton also listed which editions were inside - mine held #3303 and #3304).

just random trivia since all the talk about the toy has already been covered :) i opened it briefly just to look at the box and the heft and detailing really impressed me. this is truly toynami's finest release yet.

  4. YES YES YES!!!! It has been confirmed that what I have is the original GOLION!

First production run had the chrome midsection and tails for red and green lion. And underneath the Black Lion has the original POPY logo in red NOT white!! After 8 long years my holy grail is obtained....so happy :D

Check out the original japanese ad for this classic toy!!

Where is this ad? And in the first post, all your pics are only thumbnail size when you click on them.

Congradulations. I think I played with an original GoLion about 20 years ago that belonged to an older cousin because I remember some of the chrome. Years later, I would stare at Voltron boxes in Toys R Us but my parents would never let me get one since they were expensive ($50).

The only DX I've ever wanted is the Bismarck from Sei Juishi Bismarck. Know where I can find one?

Crap some how the ad is not loading.

Its a very nice ad vintage and rare too!

    I will keep trying.

  6. yeah, transformers were expensive in its time. Especially the Bandai Godaikins. I wanted Voltes V, and it was $80. No way in hell was I getting that from my parents. I did get an Alpha fighter/Legioss. After about 1 1/2 years of saving my lunch money. I bought my first legioss before Robotech even came out. It was just the coolest toy ever for me. I just could not believe that the robot inside the box could even transform into a jet. I even bought it from Gemco, if you remember that store.

    Haha i remember gemco.

    what about fedco?

  7. I just got one today. (thanks, wife.)  I agree with all the positive comments.  I think it's a great toy.

One of the things I like the best is that it has no stickers.  I don't have to go through the "doesn't look quite right vs want to keep as mint as possible" mental trauma.

HaHa I know what you mean...

  8. I know this is already being stalked about in anoother thread

    358061

Yet you still started this thread. <_< You are the weakest link - GOOD BYE

    358094

Hey man what's the point making this thread? To only answer a single question from you?

    358095

Wow it took ONLY 5 pages to answer my question...;):p:D:lol:B))

  9. I know I am throwing a lot of information on this thread but there are sooo many variations of Golion. It has been much debated about from message board to message board. I want to finally find what constitues to be a REAL ORIGINAL Golion. I have been looking and studying this toy for 8 years and I think I have finally found it.

    Can someone prove me wrong?

  10. I fogot which forum I've seen this on (could have been Toybox DX or Robot Japan) but there's a webpage that lists the different variations of Lionbot (b/c of face paint).

    361637

    Lionbot? What about?

    361638

    http://www.dxtoy.com.tw/http/lion.html

    361640

Yup I have seen that page. The Golion I took pictures of is NOT a Lionbot. Like I said chrome elbows and tail is very rare but mine has a Popy sticker variation for the black lion along with the chrome elbow and tail for the red and green lions. Look at the pics and you will know what I am talking about. I want to learn more about the specific variation that I got. And on another note from much researching the 2 firing canon accessories for the red and green lions came in red or grey color. From researching the red came first then the grey. I say this because the majority of the Bandai America Godaikin Golion produced had the grey ones. Also if you look on the box of the Bandai America Godaikin Golion you will see the chrome elbows and tail along with the red canons.
