  1. OK. The kits pending by Bandai are mainly GD. A franchise that around 2015 released a record of over 100 new models then, and since stabilized to about 32 plus new models yearly.

It's expected with that many releases that not all announcement make it.

So far, from what I recall, all their Macross announcements have reached shelves.

I gotta see this one. I love B style dark fantasy movies from back in the day. And this has some odd casting as well as Slash as an executive producer. It’s either gonna be great or terrible in a great way, and either way it might be great to watch

Yup, and will be even better with pizza, beer and some mates.

Other things have been announced or teased that never actually came out. So I'll sleep easiest when the pre-orders pop up.

I recall this has occured with HMR and other already built collectables. But not with kits.

The Rotten Rat getting its filthy mittens on Anime, more than likely to bestow its now-infamous brand of "tender loving care" upon it like they did with Star Wars and Marvel and Willow and Indiana Jones and many more, fills me with dread for this most-Japanese art form and story telling.

By no means is this immediate distrust uniquely relegated to Disney; every American studio has had a terrible track record on this front, be it animation or live action:  For every Alita or One Piece, there are dozens of examples of complete (on many levels) failures.

I agree regarding the Toxic Rat. Especially the vandalism it did to SW and IJ.

But, the Alita film wasn't a sounding success.

And If One Piece was called something else and didn't bring it's goliath fanbase, it wouldn't have made it past the pilot episode.

  5. After episode 3 this morning, I've checked out.

The Xeno completely degraded to a MacGuffin.

    Too many new lore breakers.

    Too many "WT# how" moments.

    And...

    Spoiler

And as previously mentioned, these new androids have superhero powers so the Mary Sue can go one on one with the Xeno. 🤦‍♂️

I'll stick to the first two films as to what Aliens is all about.

Actually, they might do pretty well. Maybe not Leatherface. But the other two are quiet and have super catch up abilities. And they kinda seem to just get up after being shot, but angrier.

Depends on the director. The right director has often taken cardboard characters and turned them into icons.

I do think they were better shown as hunting from the shadows, but reflecting on the second movie, they didn’t seem to shy away from frontal attacks. I don’t know if different types are really canon or not anymore or at all, but but I think the original type stayed hidden, while in the sequel it was a warrior type that fought without regard to personal safety. But that may or may not be an actual thing. Alien has shifting rules

This is one of those franchise's where the cannon keeps on reinventing itself with each release.

ya know, I read a lot of the novels, and the behavior of this particular xenomorph isn't surprising at all. it's interesting to see it on screen now, but they're brutal creatures and it's not just all about creating a hive and all that. They sometimes just wanna kill viciously and then reproduce afterwards. Infact I think in some of the old comic books they could completely rip apart a host, then somehow keep them alive just long enough to infect them with the facehugger.

I've always seen them as the first untameble beast that doesn't get tired and hungry, and will never stop which man has encountered. And that's part of their dark appeal as all other natural threats to man we've managed to tame or fence...

In Paris. Found the Gundam , manga street. One shop had the Macross 1/100 hg's, but they were sold out of the YF-19, the one i would've bought. Checking out at the shop next door, with some One Piece merch, i right away saw this..IMG_8360.png.05b213e100e9b3cabbb466ec977f68b6.png

Does this shop have an online store? Curious to see what else they have.

I figured it might be vaporware until I realized that it was robotech, then remembered that they don’t know how to turn back from horrible mistakes and they will put a funky design or funky colored toy in hand no  matter how many complaints they get. Although they might not do a follow up if the cash ain’t there for the first release

Still haven't learnt since the 80s...

I don’t mind the androids being slightly stronger or able to do a bit more with computers and tech, but they are kinda showing them as near superhero and with odd abilities while connecting to electronics without even a connection that is a bit much. Near invincibility means less of worry about their survival in what’s supposed to be a horror story.

    Nailed it here.

I also don’t like that the human soldiers are chaotic idiots that will jump across a collapsing staircase without even setting up a way to return safely, let alone remember how to shoot a gun.

The way they were so goofy to their surroundings, reminded me of police acedemy.

But so far I do find myself enjoying the show and hope things get a bit better as it goes on rather than worse

The almost superpowers of these new androids is still a siren that won't go off in my mind.

Remember that fever dream episode, where they all had swords to slay the dragon?

Just because it didn't actually happen doesn't mean POSE+ can't fleece you for a sword accessory! 😅

Came here to ask when did it ever have a sword after seeing it on Taghobby moments ago.

    Thanks for clearing it.

I bought one of these because I was very curious and just got it in a few days ago:

    Pros:

-very solid, high-quality feel to the materials (mostly).

    -great poseability in Battroid mode

-some interesting design choices that make the figure feel dynamic

    Cons:

-Barely anything tabs together in Gerwalk or fighter mode, and what does uses very shallow, tiny tabs that will likely break after time

-Impossible to get it aligned in fighter mode, even after finagling and massaging it for nearly an hour

-Fake chest inserts for Battroid, and also a fake upper/shoulder insert.  I hate parts-forming, so this was annoying.  Head just floats, doesn't peg to anything without the insert

-Floating waist, die cast hips don't connect to the nose cone

-Broke off one of the antennae when trying to adjust the legs in fighter mode, the head doesn't really feel like it sits anywhere properly in any mode

-Standard fist that can fold into the arm doesn't have a hole for the rifle, so parts-swapping is necessary when not in fighter-mode

Honestly if this thing was $100 less, i'd be ok with it, but as it stands it isn't quite as solid and "toyetic" as I was hoping for.

I don't understand how anyone involved on it's initial concept right to the engineering in CAD didn't say "Hey, this whole thing is NOT a good idea. Lets write it off."

  14. It didn't need the whole android with super stength and magic tech exploring it's own conscious. Only explaination is that the writer wanted to stamp his signature into the lore and that was the best he came up with, or, he plans to have a mary sue barehand showdown with the Xeno.

Remove all that sticky fudge, and the concept of a ship carrying various lethal species and crashing on Earth is alone a solid enough concept to build on.

Also, when in the alien lore will the protoganist be a male??? It's really screaming now that the alien is no longer the Xeno, but instead it's every slender paled skinned brunette.

  15. I'm been looking into this for a while, especially after some of my white lego pieces from the same set yellowed yet others haven't. Same story with another set but with light grey peices. It's like those really used vintage Stormtroopers from the 70's, where every peice is completely different tone of yellow except for one that is still reletively white.

There's many factors behind yellowing and a lot of times is a combination of many elements to even just a single one like humidity or sunlight, or to artificial like cigarette smoke or the chemicals released by it's packaging. Sometimes, and here's the shocker, it's not even about coming into contact with any external element, but just the quality of plastic simply aging.

At the end it really comes down to that, the quality of plastic and paint. With plastic it's initial reaction could be when exposed to the air too soon after injection or when the mold isn't cleaned sufficiently between a certain number of castings. While for paint, some external element got mixed during application, and for both plastic and paint a likely probability are the chemicals that form them just weren't mixed 100% properly, or some batches just weren't at 100% exactly of all the compounds that form them.

And... there's no escape when yellowing starts. Followed quite a lot of video fixes where the white returns to it's pristine state... but guess what? The yellowing returns and sometimes even faster after each treatment.

I have one interesting item however, a Bandai Gundam Fix Figuration from 2002, the Gerbera Tetra I believe it's called, which is painted all matt white minus the disguise armour. Anyway, it's 23 years old endlessly posed, displayed in humid enviroments, displayed in hot dry enviroments, displayed in a very sunlit room, moved between 3 different countres, even left it closed in some cheap plastic packet for years and... it's still pure white.

Meanwhile, other Bandai items that were once white and barely touched while stored in cool and dark cabinets, are now fit for a desert storm sequel.

That said, along with the dreaded yellowing, most of the early 2000s figures and toys made with PVC like the early Kaiyodo Evas or Bandai statues, have an even worse reaction when going against time... they release a sticky goo which is almost impossible to remove, and if successful in clearning it off, eventually returns. I can testify to this nightmare with many casualities. And at times, this PVC instead of releasing that sticky goo, dries up so much that it begins to brittle apart especially at the joints where there's less paint.

Diamonds are forever, but toys sure ain't.

I'm not sure what you're getting at.

When something costs more, sometimes people fall into the notion that it's the best due to the higher price, while at times it really isn't.
