  1. I'm very openly not a Skyline fan, but there's something I have to say in that car's defense. It's a Nismo, and a Z-Tune at that. That bodykit isn't for show, every curve, scoop, and vent is there for a reason and serves a purpose, whether it's to cool brakes, vent turbo heat, or increase downforce. Nismo doesn't screw around.

As for the new Eclipse, maybe it looks like other cars, but at least they're attractive cars. I've thought the tC was one of the best proportioned cars on the US Market, just lacking the performance to make it good. The shape and details of the Eclipse are actually nice to look at, which can't be said of a lot of cars these days.

By the way, it was at the Mitsu booth, right near the border with Subaru.

  2. Automotive thread?! How'd I miss this?

Anyway.... That Viper on the first page (The Comp Coupe) is already well known, as it was the car Formula Drift series champion Samuel Hubinette drove last season. He'll be driving it this coming season, too, but the car has been reengineered and will be competing in the Viper Racing League.

In other car-related news, I've been working at Kragen Auto Parts for the past couple months. It's in the same complex as A7's old PC Club.

As for my car, I'm going (hopefully) to be replacing my bumper with a Navan version (From the JDM K's AERO option package) and possibly picking up a carbon hood and some side skirts. A coat of paint may be coming soon after. (Although it's not totally necessary, the bumper's already painted my stock color.)

  3. Not much more to tell. I got in a verbal argument with some guy (who, it turns out, is an ex-marine) who chased me across the parking lot trying to kick my ass. So he's coming at me, I pull my airsoft colt on him and tell him that I'm a cop and will bust his ass if he comes any closer (Yeah, I don't know what the hell I was thinking, it seemed like it would save my ass at the time) I get in my car and leave.

A few minutes later, the cops pull up on me and arrest me.

So, I think I'll probably be charged with public exhibition of a replica firearm or something like that. Not a huge deal, and hopefully a good lawyer will get me off as a violation, with a bit of probation and a clear record.

  4. I wouldn't recommend 0083 as a starter series. While the design and action are awesome, the plot has more holes than a collander.

You can't go wrong with the original series. I'd recommend the movies, as they're available domestically with subtitles (the full series is only available dubbed), and as they're much more affordable than the whole series.

Zeta and Char's Counterattack are also great, and the 08th MS Team and 0080 are worth watching as well, especially 0080, which is widely regarded to be the best Gundam series.

  5. Probably a Dunlop, Yokohama, or Pirelli tire for that price. Or it's just a big tire or low pro. My tires are $225 US dollars each.

Wow, what are you running, R-Compounds?

I've got Yokohama AVS ES100 on my car, and they're just over 100 a piece in 225/45/ZR17. (My rears will be a bit more, in 235/45/ZR17)

  6. None of the series, actually. I got into Macross because of the Valkyries themselves. As both an aircraft and mecha fan, the VF-1 was so badass in my eyes, especially because the F-14 was my childhood favorite (and still is) plane. I guess, directly, what really hooked me were the Yamato 1:60s. Series wise, my first Macross, Plus, is what did it.
