Is anyone else having fitment problems with their 31Ax super parts in fighter mode?  I can't get the front air intakes to both stay attached to the body no matter what I do.

Both of mine are okay. Same as bro Anasazi37, popped off a few times while installing. But now it stays firmly. Applied some force to snap-in.

    Great work as usual @Lolicon:good:

Mine arrived yesterday, handled it briefly. Does anyone think if the new, matte plastics somehow feels stronger compared to the older 25 releases? Although the YF-30 from that era is also matte finished, this one feels somewhat different. But when I put this and the old 25 on the scale, they weighed exactly the same (only 1g difference).

By any means, I love this matt finishing.

Glad to see someone has less QC issue when received. I was interested how you DIY custom stand using the existing ugly bandai stand. can show me more and how you made it ?

I bought it from China via Taobao platform. The seller 3D printed the connectors (top and bottom) so that it can be used together with the flexi bracket on Bandai stand.

  4. I've opened my VF-25 WWM. First look, fell in love with the color scheme and the matte surface. Carefully examined it, not too bad. Just little paint stained (on the wings) and glue stained (on the left ankle piecing). Saw some small scratches marks at the edge of the plastics. Probably due to transformation (friction between plastics) by factory workers during packing.

Well, my release has some pretty floppy legs in battloid mode.  Even with the extra screws.  I guess I need to open them up and see about fixing them somehow.  The shoulders aren't too bad, but I get the sense they'll get loose relatively quickly.  Also Bandai forgot to paint in the little black circles on the left shoulder of the figure, which seems like a weird qc miss. It makes me question why I bothered waiting for this release instead of just getting a used Renewal version.  I will say though that the matte color scheme is very nice.

Anyway, if this is supposed to represent a new, world-wide Macross future, it's certainly started off with a wet fart.   I mean, they want people to buy more of their products after this right?  I'm actually more annoyed about this figure than I am with the 31ax's, because at least those get the basics right, even if some of the tolerances are off.

Yes, you are right. The world-wide thingy should started off with good quality and gain it's reputation. Seems like they have monopolized this piece of cake so the rest of things couldn't be bothered.

I've received my unit yesterday from Amiami and the box is in perfect shape. Yet to open it though.

I have both and I would unreservedly say that the Arcadia one is much better.

    1. They both do have diecast parts, but the Arcadia one has more, but not noticeably so. They're both mostly plastic.

    2. This part is mostly true. Particularly the gap in fighter mode where the head is is smaller and there are now built in covers to further cover the hole below the head.

    3. True, but the old stand takes up a lot of space and is chunky and you're better off with an alternative stand, in my opinion.

    4. Other than the head area, the gaps between the seams in fighter mode are relatively similar, perhaps just a little less on the Arcadia.

    5. True. The Arcadia version feels tighter and even the wings stay up and straight without additional support.

    6. See 3.

Other positives of the Arcadia version:

It's black which is the correct color vs the dark gray of the Yamato version.

Comes with a pair of the smaller micro-missile pods which I believe is the "more correct" loadout instead of 2 pairs of the large ones that the Yamato came with.

The panel lines are much finer and better on the Arcadia version.

The shoulders are much more adjustable and can be angled properly on the Arcadia version. (see pic for comparison. Left Yamato. Right Arcadia. Ignore the weathering I did to the Arcadia version)

As others have said, having the two left feet won't cause any issues with standing or balance. It is solely a cosmetic issue.

Thanks for sharing the photo. Looks good on Arcadia! Love your photo.

It can stand without a display stand even with the left legs issue.

It's not that noticeable in fighter mode.

If you're not OC and won't be bothered with the knowledge that you own a copy with a manufacturing issue, or don't plan on reselling it, then you should go for the cheaper Arcadia you found IMO.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the joints were tighter on the Arcadia vs the Yamato, especially on the wings.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Appreciate it.

  8. Hey guys, hope you guys are doing well and staying safe. I am sorry, probably this is considered an old thread already but I wanted to buy SV-51 Ivanov use.

I can't make up mind to get Arcadia one or old Yamato. I searched over the Internet, some said the Arcadia joints are better but also at the same time I am confused as some of the collectors also mentioned that it is equal loose as Yamato.

    What I found out are:

    1. Arcadia has diecast parts.

    2. Arcadia has better cavity to fill up gaps and holes.

    3. Arcadia has no stand, stand purchase separately.

    4. Yamato has gap everywhere on the fighter mode.

    5. Yamato has loose joints and no diecast part.

    6. Yamato has display stand included.

    7. Price is cheaper on Yamato one

Brothers here who are having both Arcadia and Yamato, can share some lights? Especially the joints performance. And I saw a lot Acardia is having issue with the both left legs. Can anyone share the picture if it can still stand by itself without a display stand?

I actually came across a local store selling off slightly cheaper Arcadia one with both left legs issue. Is it worth to buy? If the leg issue not obvious on fighter mode, I am considering it over Yamato.

    Many thanks!

And yes, 1 hour later, out of the blue I went into Amiami and saw it's opened for pre-oder. I got it finally. My first successful PO from Amiami.  Hopefully they don't cut me away when it releases.

Got mine secured with both HLJ and Amiami. Amiami was opened for like 1 min and then the PO closed.

I tried to PO at Amiami. Was standby in front of the desktop 1 hour before 1pm Tokyo time. The system was having heavy load. Right before 1pm Tokyo time, Amiami website back to normal. I was happy for a moment. At 1pm, I can load the page and add into the cart. Then pooooffffff it said order is closed. It was less than 30 seconds!

Sorry that happened to you. Looks like a typical Bandai QC to me. What did you use to remove the glue spill btw? Acetone will destroy paint and there isn’t really any other way than sanding and repainting the affected panel entirely. I had a similar glue spill on my metal composite Zaku and boy, did I have so much fun color matching to factory paint..

It was a failed removal. I used WD40 multi lubricant, I thought it can remove. Then I use small amount of alcohol also failed. Probably I rubbed to hard.

oh wow i feel yoour sadness  recieving multiple QC issue on your new valkyrie as it almost like 2nd hand purchase. any chances asking the store to replace new one ?

Yeah, thanks for hearing me out. Can't replace it anymore as I've destroyed some paints while trying to remove the glue stained.

  13. Thought of sharing.

Got mine yesterday and opened up today. Unfortunately, she got some QC issue on me.

    1. Glue stained on the wings

    2. Poor paint job on the left wing.

    3. Uneven Fold Crystal is installed.

    4. Saw some glue on both shoulders joint. It's very tight and I give up transforming it.

Stupid me trying to remove the glue stained but end up destroying the paint.
